vintage porch column base
This column base came off a century home I owned in Ohio. The original porch pillars were removed and replaced by previous owners with 4x4's in an attempt to modernize the home. Every part of the original wood was burned. I found this portion buried under their burn pile. The wood is solid with no rot or evidence of fire. There is one chip in the base which is pictured. It has all original paint. I used it with a candle and hurricane glass for the last few years. The base is 12 x 12 and the height is about 8 inches. The top is about 10 inches across. This is a very handsome 9 column Burroughs Portable adding machine. STILL WORKS PERFECTLY! The print you see in the photo was shot right after I pushed in some numbers and pulled the handle. The ribbon itself has not ever been replaced to my knowledge. Which was surprising to see any print at all. Been in my Dad's collection of odds and ends forever. He was born in1929. Antique Ingraham Black 4 Column Mantle Clock, Great Original Condition
What you are looking at here is a great 4 column black mantle clock manufactured by the Ingraham clock company during the 1800's. This clock is in great original condition for it's age. Though some of the brass pieces on the case could use a little tightening onto the clock, just a few brass nails that have gone missing. The movement is a 8-day time and strike, that appears to be in great condition. I have not been able to test the clock because I do not have the pendulum, but both springs appear to be in good condition. So the clock is sold as-is because I have not been able to test it. Beautiful Antique Circa 1905 Seth Thomas Adamantine 6 Column Mantle Clock. Here is a Beautiful. Somewhat large, Antique, Seth Thomas Adamantine 6 Column Mantle Clock. This dates to approximately 1905. It is in perfect working condition and as far as we can tell is all original including the key. The clock measures approximately 11.25" tall x 18" wide x 7" deep. The case is very ornate with brass feet and Brass Lions heads on both sides with rings. There is carving in the wood on the base and around the face. The face has great large numbers and is surrounded by a brass bezel. The face is covered by a Convex Glass that opens to access the area to wind the clock. As you can see there are 3 areas that can be wound. One is for the pendulum. One is for the chime or stike and the other is for the speed of the clock. There are no ... morecracks, breaks or repairs to the glass. The wood on top and below the columns has been marblized. The 8 day movement chimes or in this case"Gongs" on the half and full hour counting down the hours. The movement is signed with the Seth Thomas Trademark. The photo was taken on Highway 7 near Montmelier, France as a 7th Army convoy passed through the area. These are actual photographs.
