The desk has a large carved design on the front of the fall front desk top and opens to reveal pigeon holes. Slots and two small drawers within the desk itself. The fall front provides a large writing surface. The desk portion sits over a full width single drawer with two half width drawers and a cupboard base w/ door underneath. All drawer fronts have applied rectangular panels with walnut burl veneer covering the entire panels. Drawers have wonderful molded and stamped brass drawer pulls and back plates and all drawers, doors and fall front have keyholes with matching escutcheons and keys. All indications are this is the original finish on the secretary with only the inside fall front being refinished to match the rest of the desk.
