It is a beautiful ... moretable form the civil war era of the 1860s. It is in pretty much original condition and in good shape. Someone had a plant pot on it for years and it left a center ring on the top that is approximately 6 inches circular. It could easily be covered with another plant pot or lamp. The table is beautiful with a wide shapely ogee bevel edge white and gray grained marble that sits upon a rosewood and walnut hand carved base with outside legs that are joined together with a cross stretcher and center finial. The overall size is 41 inches long, 28 inches deep and 29.5 inches high.

The mirror crest is beautifully carved with roses, the dresser drawers with nice carved grips. Dresser retains the three locks with walnut escutcheons, no key. Secondary wood is maple. On either side of the mirror there are two curved cabinets with a shelf in each. Picture 10 shows a small piece of veneer at the top left that has come unglued and a couple of marks. There are three large graduated drawers. On the bottom of each side of the drawers there are two curved cabinets with a shelf in each. The four cabinet curved doors are finished on the inside. Antique French Oak Marble Top and splash Washstand Wash Stand, Butler
This auction is for an Estate found antique wash stand. It would also work well as a Dinning room butler. The previous owners believed it was French and over 100 years old. The wood looks like flame mahogany or oak. I believe it has been varnished. The wood is very shiny. There is one drawer with a divider down the middle. The drawer opens from underneath. On the inside of the drawer there are some stains. It does open and close with a minimum of sticking. It could use some wax. The marble top is gray and white. The surface is a little rough and definitely could use a buffing. There are some small nicks and there is a crack along the back. You can see this in the 12th or last photo. Across the bottom. A pot board connects the four legs provided plenty of strength and stability to the washstand. The pot board's surface looks a little bubbled ... moreI believe from water sitting on it. The right front leg has a chip on one of the rings. You can see this in the 11th photo. I think the legs may have been shortened or they had a cap, rollers on them. The stand is 30" wide, 19" deep and 33" tall. The splash is 3-3/8" tall with the wood adding another 3/8" There is a paper label on the back of the drawer but most of it is gone. If anyone out there recognizes it please let me know. I would love to know the manufacturer. This is a beautiful piece but it is old and while it looks great for its age it does show some age. RARE ANTIQUE DRESSER W MARBLE TOP
my dad had this dresser for over 50 years and I'm pretty sure he didn't buy it new. I have no knowledge of this item my dad recently passed away so I am forced to sell. It stands 42 inches tall x 39" wide x18"deep. All drawers are intact in great condition and open and close with ease. There is a chunk missing out of what seems to be the back panel as shown in one of the pictures but I do have the piece of wood that came off of it for possibly an easy fix. I estimate this dresser being fRom somewhere in the late 1800's. I wish I knew more about this dresser but I don't. I bought it at an estate sale& it really is in excellent condition. It has 4 drawers total. 2 top& bottom& then 2 smaller ones along the the top. The drawers move smooth& the mirror& marble are in excellent condition. The marble is a redish brown color. The top is all carved wood. An antique. Circa 1890's- 1900's, light olive painted hardwood Louis XVI style chest of drawers. There are applied laurel and berry, bellflowers, rosettes, and bandings. Five of the drawers retain the original gilt metal pulls, escutcheons, and locks, the top drawer with new replaced brass knobs, missing the lock, no key. Drawer interiors of oak. The top has a polished, beveled, beautiful mottled marble slab. Chest measures 56" tall by 34" wide by 19" deep. Very good condition: original paint finish with minor flakes, no cracks or chips to case boards. Marble very fine.
