Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table some pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. It is in beautiful condition. It is a nice brown with a slight red tint on the solid mahogany. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was of European decent. It has a metal hand forged wingnut on the base and the stand will actually come apart. The top is a lazy susan. It has the plate rail end on the top and middle shelf. It has duncan phyfe solid mahogany legs that terminate in a brass cap foot. This is definitely a period table. The overall size is 22 inches round on the top shelf, 25 inches round on the bottom shelf, 37 inches high to the top shelf and 21 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is a great stand at a reasonable piece. It is a good honest period piece.

This diminutive antique mahogany chest was probably a vanity or jewelry chest for a man with one drawer and original brass handle. It is mostly handmade with a hand dovetailed drawer. Hand chamfered drawer bottom and hand sawn arch ends. The front of the drawer appears to be burl. The front of the drawer and front legs are reeded. I would date it as early 1800's. The chest is 10 1/2" wide by 7 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" tall and in perfect original condition with no dents, cracks or scratches. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Unique and Stunning antique Mahogany and Birch Chest on Chest Highboy c. 1860's
I am offering up for auction a very beautiful antique chest on chest Highboy that was handmade 150 to 175 years ago. It is very unique with the 2 tone coloring and the intricate sunburst type design on the bottom drawer. I think this 2 tone coloring is called banded. The sunburst or compass rose type design is actually concave creating a half circle indentation. It is 6 feet 2 3/4 inches tall. It measures about 18 1/2 inches deep and 43 3/4 inches wide across the band below the very top. It has varying widths due to chest on bottom then a"waistline" so to speak( 45 1/2 inches) where 2 chests meet then the chest on top then the top piece of trim which is the same 45 1/2 inches as the middle. As you can see from the photo it is loaded with drawers! There are 3 small on top then 3 long ones below that makes up the top chest then the ... morebottom chest is 2 drawers then 2 larger drawers. I am not an antique expert. But I took some of the drawers to a well established reputable antique dealer in our area and it was said that it was a handmade piece of furniture probably about 150 to 175 years old made of mahogany and birch. The drawers are dovetailed as you can see in the photos. It has the bracket style feet. I am not certain about the hardware on the piece. The hardware looks old but the screws that hold them on are not, so the screws have been replaced. Each drawer(10) has a place that looks like a key would fit in to lock them, but this is just for decoration. It is in excellent condition showing only a few blemishes on the feet and around the bottom edge as I have shown in the photos. Two pillars with ormolu mounts to the plinths and capitols support the pediment with lily of the valley wreath ornament. The mirror frame with glass is removable for shipment. case has a dovetailed drawer with ormolu wreath and knob. The drawer interior is quartersawn oak. The case secondary wood is maple. An Empire Bureau. Or chest of drawers made of mahogany in the early half of the 19th century. This is a grand piece of furniture that would look great in any large space-hallway, large master bedroom, dining room. We had it in our hallway in a 1803 house in upstate New York. There are four large drawers and three small drawers at the top. The largest drawer is directly below the three small top drawers, consistent with the style. Drawer fronts are a mirror veneer, rest of the wood is solid. The drawer pulls are brass. This is a solid, well-built dresser. It is heavy. It stands about 52 inches high, is about 47 inches wide and about 21 inches deep. The drawers are about 16 inches deep. The finish is in relatively good condition; there are scrapes, scuffs, nicks and scratches but it would not necessarily need any work. This vanity I acquired from my grandmother about 40 years ago but that doesn't even begin to date it. It had originally belonged to her grandmother. It was built originally in the late 1800's. I dated it based on what could be found for it's style and that my grandmother remembered it when she was a young child. My grandmother was born in 1885. It came by horse and buggy from St Louis in 1898. It has had a couple of changes since then. One was new drawers in the 1930's and the other was a new mirror after arriving here as the original broke during the trip. The vanity will be shipped in one or two boxes. It has several small screws which will allow the legs to be removed as well as the drawers and mirror. Antique mahogany inlaid travel dresser case, chest 1700's? 1800's
Here we have today is a lovely antique mahogany travel dresser case. Chest from sometime between the 1700's-1800's. Not sure of the true age of the piece or where it was made, it just came with a note which read Georgian mahogany dressing case c 1780. Case has nice wood inlaid, it is 13 1/2" long, 10 1/2" wide and 7" tall. Piece has a main compartment with removal mirror, eight in laid boxes, two glass jars and lots of storage space. There is one main tray that can be removed. There is a bottom drawer which opens up and has a top lid. I could not get the drawer to go all the way back in and there is a crack to the wood bottom of the drawer. The lining of the case is cracked, all of the boxes are in good aged condition, no cracks to the removable boxes, the glass bottles have no cracks, there are some small chips to ... morethe edges, the mirror is in really good condition for it's age, and the pin cushion and other fabric covered pieces have wear, rips and spotting to the fabric. Box shows average wear for it's age, There is some inlaid missing from the top, there is a crack along the top, scuffs and scratches, but everything is tight and nothing is coming apart. The brass handles are tight and box once had a lock to it, but the key is long gone. There is a chip to the bottom front edge of the box, and fading to the wood at the ends of the box. This case is still a really nice antique piece which would be a great addition to anyone's collection. Antique Solid Mahogany Victorian Music Cabinet w/beveled mirror back & Birdseye

Interior is solid Birdseye burled maple pull-out draws. Brass identification holders on each draw. Automatic mechanism that opens left door when manually opening right door. Hand painted on front and top of cabinet and on crest of mirror. Beveled mirror in solid mahogany frame on back splash. Hand relief carved head on each front corner. Cabriolet front legs with hand carved feet. Measurements: height to top of mirror 44 ½” width 21 ¼” height to top of cabinet 38” and depth 16” Very good condition given its age.
