The chair is in very good condition, with only some light surface scratches on it, that are typical of such an old piece. There are a few areas where the finish is damaged, or chipped off, and these can be seen in the photos. It has a carved splat back with a woven rush seat. The seat has obviously been redone, and is in very good condition, with only light signs of wear. The chair has sabre legs on the front, and turned tapering legs on the back. The shapely white and gray grain marble top has an ogee bevel edge. One corner of the marble is a small hairline fracture, but it is not broken or cracked. It has incise carved frame skirt, incise carved legs joined together with a center column and it comes with the original castors. The overall size is 32 inches long, 24 inches deep and 31 inches high. It is a great looking stand to accent your room. It has incised carvings, lots of burl, and a beautiful example of renaissance furniture. It is 66 inches wide, 92 inches tall to the center crest, 83.5 inches high on the side posts, 5 inches deep on the bottom, and 5 inches wide on the posts. It is all original untouched. It has a personalization on top of the crest of 3 gold gilded letters that I cannot make out. It has gold gilded trim; gold gilded liner and it is simply beautiful. There are a couple of small pieces of molding missing on the base that I believe we can detail. There is a hole on the center of the personalization, which I believe must have been a finial at one time.

France and imported to it's current location in Charleston, SC. This high quality solid oak furniture was manufactured somewhere between the 1900 and the early to mid-twentieth century. In addition to the wonderful condition, the beautiful wood grain is highlighted by the highly detailed carvings and the parquet oak and burl top alongside fabulous heavy carved full size dining chairs with leather seats, secured with a complete set of decorative brass tacks. These chairs are particularly rare and hard to find with their full size dimensions and comfortable leather sling seats.
