Antique Childs Doll Chest Of Drawers Dresser Hand Crafted Folk Art Toy Jewelry Old folk art dresser-sound.Hand crafted from various salvaged hard woods-drawers have some mahogany cigar box pieces.All original finish-that nice rich dark brown with the gorgeous patina of age.Clean.Drawers are lined in a printed lace patterened paper-with matching( blue thumbtacks. Mirror is quite old and also has a great patina-almost looks like polished tin the way the silvering is oxidizing. I added a newer glazer point on the back of the mirror as the original nail is gone. There's a break in the mirror bow arm on the backside-and looks like this was re-attached at some point. Bottom drawer the wood bottom has cracked-but it's not going anywhere-and you'd only know this if you pulled the drawer and looked at the bottom-the paper lining keeps ... moreit flat inside. Lots of hours went into the creation of this piece,well crafted,well loved. I believe the top suffered a spill long ago,which moved the finish a bit-and was covered up with something-as I found those same blue thumbtacks on either side underneath( I have removed them) looks really lumpy in the pics-not so in real life.Measures 21" x 13" x 7" and a smidge.Mirror swivels.Charming old thing. Small Chest or Child's Dresser W/ AMAZING Victorian Decoupage Folk Art Die Cut
Offered here is an amazing. One-of-a-kind small chest of drawers or child's dresser that has been covered with Victorian decoupage of various die cut printed pieces of advertising, greeting cards, etc. I have seen a lot of antiques, and looked on the internet for similar pieces, but I can't find anything comparable to this. This is a great handmade folk art piece that would be the highlight of any room. Despite it's petite size. A great decorator piece to put on top of another chest or table, use as a side table or night stand, put at the end of a hall, etc. Yes. This is covered with hundreds, if not thousands, of small colorful pieces of paper. I've tried to show this in the photos, particularly in the one of the top with the glancing light, and on another the edges of the drawer. Chest measures 22 1/2" wide. 21 3/4" ... moretall, and 12 1/2" deep overall. The basic case is about 21" x 21" x 12" with the top extending on the sides and front, and the small scalloped backsplash adding a bit to the depth. The chest is constructed out of pine. Including the drawer bottoms, and has nicely paneled sides. There is lovely, period paper lining the drawers. The back of the dresser was covered by some previous owner with a piece of masonite and is a newer addition. Please see all the photos. Very old and original all in tack with drawers working no damage in base was going to restore but decided to leave original. The bottom little cabinet is off hinge and missing a drawer handle bought a matching nob and nails for hinge included for purchase but wanted to leave original. Miniature Antique Primitive Folk Art Dresser Chest of Drawers From the estate of an antique collector and a house full of primitives. This is a great find. It is a little miniature dresser or chest of drawers made from old wood crates. It has a decorative backsplash on the top, Three drawers and a nice decorative apron across the bottom front and sides. Under the drawers the maker signed the letters"R R" Original pulls made from wire brads. Printing from the wood crates as well as the dove tailed corners can still be seen. Antique Child's 19th C. Primitive Mahogany Chest of Drawers-Folk Art- AAFA
Read all of this and look at all the photos. This little mahogany childs chest of drawers came out of a Boulder estate last week. All original. Nothing altered little chest is 10 1/16" back to front and 13 1/8" side to side, and 13 1/2" high, with the back splash 2 1/2" The alligator finish is irregular and has a water stain on the top. I didn't want to mess with it. This little gem looks like 1850 period and east coast origin. We do see things in Boulder from early Pennsylvania. Certainly no later than 1870. It has many hand cut small nails that have bled into the wood. The four drawers have been painted pink inside at a later period and measure app. 8 x 11 x 2 1/2. The lower left front rail is partially missing and the right back rail is missing. There is an old crack on the top. They really do not distract from ... morethe piece. The sides are slightly curved. The secondary wood is pine. Again. This is a wonderful little chest in unrestored condition that was likely made on a farm on the east coast 150 years ago. It has a bigger presence than the photos show. This wowed me when I saw it, and you will not be disappointed. It will be double boxed and well packed. A very adorable antique. Circa 1840's- 1850's, folk art child's dresser with mirror. The case is of walnut, the drawer front and sides with rosewood veneers. There is geometric parquetry bandings in maple, cherry, and mahogany. The dovetailed drawers have the original porcelain knobs, the interiors with period wallpaper liners. The mirror frame and harp are leaf carved walnut, the mirror original. The feet are carved as leaf scrolls. It measures 37" tall by 17-1/2" wide 13-1/2' deep. Very good condition: original finish with minor flaking. Some losses to marquetry or rosewood veneer(see photos. Two top boards with warping, minor scuffing to feet or base molding. Mirror glass without chips, cracks or backing spots. The screw knobs on harp to position the mirror frame are probably newer replacement. The mirror and ... moreharp are removable for shipment.
