I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There ... moreare hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side has a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. It is a very beautiful piece whatever its origin is and the paint job is intricate and looks like it was very time consuming. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help. This is a great small Victorian child's dresser. Hand painted in what was usually called the'cottage style' Piece is walnut with a shaped mirror. Two handkerchief drawers and three regular drawers. There is a repair to one of the arms that hold the mirror to the base-it was well done and is quite stable. Beautiful original finish with a smooth and mellow feel. Overall size of the piece is 23 wide, 43 high, and 13 deep. The interior drawers are 17 wide, 3.5 high, and 10 deep. The small drawers are 4.5 wide, 1.75 high, and 6.5 deep. Has all original painted hearts in front and tremendous beautiful detail of greenery typical of the style and period of Pennsylvania Dutch. Measures 34 inches wide by 18 inches and 28 inches high. Very old and original all in tack with drawers working no damage in base was going to restore but decided to leave original. The bottom little cabinet is off hinge and missing a drawer handle bought a matching nob and nails for hinge included for purchase but wanted to leave original. Antique 1800s hand Painted Flowers Miniature Chest Drawers Doll Dresser Jewelry
This nicely made 1860s-80s ash wood chest of drawers measures 12 ¼” tall x 13 1/8” x 7 ¼” deep and appears to have original. Untouched varnished surface overall. The top and each drawer are framed by red striping with sprays of flowers hand painted in the middle. Each drawer has sweet turned walnut knobs and all appear to be original. The sides have extra nice cuts and the back is of thin sawn pine. Construction overall is butt wire nail with glue and there are scattered old nail and glue repairs. Featuring a flip top mirror, a fold down faux drawer front with working lock and key, flip open compartments on the left and right hand side, and two small pullout drawers. The entire vanity is adorned with original, hand-painted, pastel colored bouquets of flowers surrounded by elaborate decorative gold frames. Every part of the vanity is uniquely painted but the most beautiful attraction is the top when closed. It is an absolutely stunning work of art.
