53611 ANTIQUE 1840s EMPIRE MAHOGANY MANS PETITE DRESSER W MARBLE TOP & MIRROR
A most unusual antique. Circa 1840's, Empire period flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany man's petite dresser. Lifting up and back of the top exposes a gray veined white marble surround, the underside of lid with the original very wavy mirror. The case holds four drawers with butterflied flame mahogany veneer fronts, the drawer interiors in oak. The case is on casters. The dresser measures 37-1/2" tall by 28" wide by 16" deep. Very good plus condition: damage is a horizontal crack to board and veneer across the top board of the lid. Both veneered sides have vertical shrinkage cracks. Includes all the locks and the key. The marble slabs are without chips, or stains. The right side marble piece has been broken in two and cemented back. The mirror is fine. The original finish has aged to almost an ebony color.

Offered for sale is this 19th century dresser top mirror frame- sorry no mirror. Based on the wood patina and the square nails or cut nails using. I would guess this is a 19th piece. The frame's 4 ornate carved corners look like to make of Gesso or other stuff. The frame looks like nothing missing except mirror. The wood didn't change the shapes for over 100 years, but it do need some restoration for the loosing joints, just a few nails/screws and some glue will do. And the previous owner seems to try to repaint it but he hasn't finish the job, It probably needs some time to clean the old finish and repaint it. The wood is good but I don't know what kind of wood. Where I bought this frame and I also bought an 3 old wood carving pieces. I have no idea that they go with the frame or don't belong to the frame. U p for auction is this magnificent Empire Style Solid Mahogany Man’s Chiffonier from around the 1830’s. The dresser was re-finished many years ago but the mirror was never re-finished. The drawers are dove-tailed and very thick. This does not have veneer. It is solid beautiful wood. It stands about 72’ tall and approx. 40” wide and is on the original castors. I believe the wood is walnut. The wood on the drawers is a burled pattern. Please note the detail in the Ormalu crown and drawer pulls. An extremely heaving rectangular piece of coral marble is inset in the top. The oval mirror is beveled and is in excellent condition. There are matching two nightstands. Antique Eastlake Dresser This is an Eastlake style antique dresser. We believe it is composed of walnut with a medium-tone finish. It has been finished with a lovely marble surface and a large mirror top. The mirror has a beautiful and ornate carved design. Three large drawers sit below the marble surface. The drawers have dovetailed construction. All of the drawers are 33" wide and 14" deep. The top drawers is 6 1/8" tall. The middle is 7" tall and the bottom is 8 1/2" tall. The entire set-up measures 86" in height. It is 41 3/4" at the widest point. And 17 3/4" deep. It weighs approximately 177 pounds. The exposed marble surface measures 40 7/8" by 13 3/4" This is in great. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. There are no visible cracks or repairs. There are ... morea few chips along the dresser edge. It appears as though there was originally a crown as well as a pair of candle holder arms. These pieces are no longer included. The mirror may be a replacement, since it is not beveled, but it is still a lovely match. There is a slight separation in the joint at the top of the mirror arch. I see a few very faint paint splatters on the dresser. There are minor imperfections, such as scratches or spots of wear, which I believe should be expected on a piece of this age. NO cracks in marble, I can not show the whole mirror in photo, because it is a 8 foot mirror, and I have it siting in a trailer with 7 foot ceilings, I have it siting on cinder blocks, I believe the tongue and grove is called"cove" the stains on the marble can be cleaned with a paste made of backing soda and water, I have used this method of cleaning on a marble table I have, works great.it does have some scratches, but for being 135 years old, that's to be expected. pick up only NOTE: I must ask what im asking for it, because if it sells, ebay and pay pal get 13% off the top.

A very fine antique. Circa 1860's, solid walnut dresser with gray veined white marble top. Above is the separate mirror in frame, and yoke having a pair of candle stands and glove boxes. The mirror crest is beautifully carved with roses, the dresser drawers with nice carved grips. Dresser retains the three locks with walnut escutcheons, no key. Secondary wood is maple. Mirror frame will swivel. It has been nicely refinished. Total furniture measures 7'2" 86" tall by 3'5" 41" wide by 18-1/2" deep. Excellent condition: walnut without chips or cracks, beveled marble without chips or cracks, very minor stain drip specks. This auction is for an antique dresser top mirror or shaving mirror with drawer. It is of a beautiful dark wood- I think possibly mahogany. There is beautiful dark wood grain to this piece. I believe this probably dates to the Civil War era. It is about 21 inches tall. 23 inches across and 9 1/4 inch deep. The mirror is a replacement and there is a lovely piece of matching wood grained wood to the back of the mirror. There is one drawer. When one looks at this dresser they are able to see the time and detail these craftsman put into this piece. The bowfront design is supported by the corners which turn into claw feet legs. The legs are wheeled which allows for easy movement. Two half drawers over four full drawers gives ample space for anything you need. The drawers also feature hand carved dovetails. The mirror attached to this dresser has a very antique feel to it.
