The oak commode was completely hand made out of heavy solid oak. The top is about 1 1/4" stock oak. The drawers also have thick stock fronts as the interiors are made out of pine. The entire piece is made of thick stock oak. The back splash is about 6 5/8" high and hand carved with spoon carvings. The top is 36" or 3 ft. wide and 18 1/2" deep. The commode itself is 37" tall to the top of the back splash. The commode was found painted green and was professionally refinished to its original condition and now ready for your home. It was hand stripped ... moreand hand refinished with a beautiful lacquered golden oak hand polished finish. Many hours of hand refinishing to bring this piece of furniture back to life by a master furniture restorer. There was one minor repair to the right side with a spliced piece of oak to fill in a crack(no wood putty was used) The black cast iron handles are all original and not replaced. The piece is completely original! It is one of a kind as you won't find another commode like this one. The oak stock was hand planed and cut to construct the heavy oak commode. It is typical to the late Victorian era being made from a lovely golden oak. The dresser would look well in both an old or modern property amongst similar golden oak kitchen furniture. The dresser breaks into two pieces enabling it to go into properties. The dresser stands on three lovely barley twist front legs and square back legs supporting the main section where there is a stretcher shelf to the bottom for storage of kitchen items. There are three large drawers with each drawer having a carved type panel and moulded plain panel to each drawer and their original brass ... morehandles. The top is in good condition with the top itself sitting neatly upon the base. Slightly set back and has the most wonderful stepped carved sections with plenty of shelves for storage. It is slightly breakfront with a standard graduated cornice and lovely shaped frill beneath. The height is 206cm. The width is 154cm and the depth is 47cm. Victorian Golden Oak Bow Front 2 Over 2 Dresser With Carved Mirror
Beautiful Golden Oak Victorian Dresser with mirror. It's 40" wide. 20" deep and about 67" high with mirror. Very nice condition. There are 2 small dark spots on the top which can be seen in photo slightly. Dove tailed construction on the drawers and hand carving on the oval mirror. On the sides of one of the bottom drawers the dove tailing is slightly warped from age and split slightly but the drawer opens and closes smoothly with no effort and is solid. If anything the color is slightly more golden than in the photos. And it is on castors. Mirror is removed easily. This is pick up only. Thanks.
