53560 ANTIQUE 1830s FLAME MAHOGANY CHEST OF DRAWERS W CARVED CLAW FEET & PILLARS
A very fine antique. Circa 1830's, Empire style solid and flame veneered mahogany tall chest of drawers. There are two bowed drawers over five graduated drawers. All retain their locks, five brass key holes(two brass missing) and twelve original brass bail pulls. The case is on front carved claw feet supporting tapered full found pillars having flame mahogany veneer, with carved capitols, and squared carved rosettes above. The drawer fronts are butterflied flame mahogany veneers, the drawer interiors in maple. The drawer undersides are chamfered. The solid mahogany case sides have recessed mahogany panels. Chest measures 58-1/4" tall by 45" wide by 24" deep. Excellent condition: original finish, some chipping to claw feet, minor veneer chips at top edge of two long drawers. Top two boards without cracks or ring spots.

Early American Mahogany Empire Vanity With Mirror Claw Feet
Another great example of a well kept piece from about 1870. It's a real piece of American made furniture back when people cared about quality and weren't rushed. Overall construction is of solid imported mahogany. The crotch mahogany around the mirror frame and drawer face are of course veneer, that truly is the only way to get the grain that looks like that. The entire cabinet is built like a tank, all handcrafted of the finest materials. I call this a vanity, some may call it a dressing table. Offered is Antique Empire Four Drawer Mahagony Chest Dresser with fabulous Bronze decoration and hardware. The Chest has Bracket Claw Feet on the front. This piece is in the original condition-the matching of the wood grain on each of the sides is fabulous. The top has some age checking-this piece has not been restored.
