Vintage cast iron Pheasant weathervane topper
Vintage cast iron Pheasant weathervane topper in very good condition. It measures 29" long and 13" tall and the arrow is 3/4" wide. Where is sits on a pole is a1/4" opening. It weighs about 3 pounds. Not sure how old it is. The pheasant is held on with 2 screws into the arrow I do not know much about weathervanes or weathervane tops, so please look at pictures and bid accordingly. The beak shows some damage as shown in the picture. But it doesn't take away from the overall beauty of the piece. The wingspan measures about 21" it stands about 51" from the top of a wing to the base of the mounting bracket. The iron has been twisted and there is a female screw pattern piece at the bottom that looks copper or brass to attach to a stand. This attachment piece has"Miller" stamped on it. Piece measures 50" in length. The finial itself is 10" in length. Holding a ruler up left to right and looking at the twisted iron straight on it is 3/4" in width. The female copper or brass attach piece at the bottom looks like it has been welded on and it measures 1 1/2" in length. Large Ornate Cast Iron Weathervane ca. 1900 Serpant Motif
Here's a beautiful vintage cast iron weathervane. Circa 1900. This vane was originally on a building in Chicago. It has architectural characteristics that are distinctly different than weathervanes used on rural buildings. One end has a serpent tail motif. And appears to have been repaired with a hot rivet many years ago. The opposite end may be missing a small piece but it is hard to tell. Measurements are 34" x 34" It does not spin anymore due to its rusted patina. The stem of the vane is pressed into a piece of black conduit for display purposes. This will be removed for shipping. You may chose to put it into a piece of conduit for display in your garden.

Vintage Set of 4 Aluminum Lightning Rods
This is a vintage set of lightning rods that came off the house I spent my youth in. I'm not sure when they were placed on the house. But I have vague memories of childhood discussions about the lightning rods so it's possible they could date to the late 60's. They are in good shape, but the aluminum mounts are a little rough where they were shaped to the tin roof and where the cables loosened and flapped in the wind the final few years before the house was torn down. You can judge their condition well from the photos. I do not know the manufacturer as they aren't individually labeled, but the lightning rod and weather vane that came off the house with them was made by Robbins in Maryville, Mo. This is a vintage Robbins Weather Vane and Lightning Rod made by Robbins in Maryville. MO. It came off the house I spent my youth in. The hole in the weather vane dates to 1978 when I took one of my first successful and mischievous shots with a new.22 rifle. The weather vane is in good shape otherwise, aside from being weathered. Vintage Weathervane from Schmidts Bewery Norristown Pa
This auction is for a vintage weathervane from Schmidt's brewery in Norristown. Pa. I do not know the date of this however, it may be from the 1930's- 1940's era. I only have this one piece that you see pictured on the white cover and it comes from a family member's personal collection who had worked for Schmidt's Brewery in Norristown Pa. This measures 5ft in length(see picture) an weighs approx. 15lbs. I do not know what this is made out of. The tip of the arrow appears to be metal because a magnet can be drawn to it. The rest of the piece may be copper or some other material, I really don't know. This has great patina from many years of being outside atop the building. I am told these are common place now- except when they are handmade copper over 70 years old and probably well over 100 years old. This is a Horse and carriage/surrey with driver in copper. In excellent/mint condition. This came off a barn in Georgetown County SC from an old plantation. The North. South, East and West markers are included though not shown- I think they are brass. The three copper balls are included as well- not shown though. This is in mint condition. I can say the reins, rigging, wheel spokes- everything is there. I have not cleaned it- great old patina. Old Working Copper Rooster Weather Vane - Original with Petina
This a used original Working Copper& Brass Rooster Weather Vane. Comes with a couple small dings on the balls and one on the rooster. I am guessing from a ice storm just adds to the natural patina. The entire set up is 51" in Height. The rooster is 19" Rooster with the arrow is 21 1/2" North to South is 18" Steel Support Rod 39 1/2" the Arrow is 23" across. The Tail is bent as should be for it to work properly. Remember to set directions for it to work correctly. I do not have the mounting piece, can easily be purchased. I was told it was from the 50's or 60's, seller didn't know if it was any older than that. I purchased this from an Estate sale, please use your own expertise.

Primitive Vintage Hammered Metal Weathervane Arrow Shabby Black Finish I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! You don't need a weathervane to take advantage of this primitive beauty- it would be just as happy. And look just as good hanging on your wall! What I have is a vintage weathervane arrow- it's made of a white metal that a magnet does not stick to, except the pole that comes down from the center- I do believe that it may be brass, as it certainly has the patina- see my photos and if you think so too. The arrow, on either end, has a hammered metal design, and the piece has ... morea very shabby, chippy black finish that is more worn that still on. It measures 31" long at the arrow, and 7 1/2" at the center- top to bottom of pole. The pole alone is 5" long and about 1/4" diameter. It weighs 1 lb, so it's light for its size. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition, in addition to the finish wear, it is dirty from living outdoors, and cobwebby from being in the barn for so long- it could use a good cleaning, I have not cleaned it in any way. It was mounted on top of the clubhouse and it blew off the roof top in a huge storm in 2010. It never was remounted and has sat in a storage shed ever since. It took a major hit and there is damage to this weathervane as shown in the pictures provided. You are buying this in AS/IS condition. From what I can see from inspecting it is there is damage to the neck. Both wing tips and the mounting rod. The rod will need to be resoldered onto the vane. I am not sure of the exact age of this vane but was told by the owner of the club that it was there when he purchased the property in 1960. I will leave the exact age to be determined by the pros. All Iron Vintage Weathervane 3' high and 32" at its widest point. Fastens to roof with four bolts and there is a hinge to adjust the angle. Primitive Vintage Cast Metal Prancing Horse Weathervane Shabby Black Finish I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! Here's a wonderful older vintage cast metal weathervane in the image of a pancing horse! It's made from a metal that a magnet does not stick to- spelter. I'm guessing, as it appears to be silver in color. The pieces has a hammered metal look on the arrow. You can see lots of peeks of the metal as the old black finish is shabby, chippy and worn- especially on the horse, where you can see more metal than paint. This is the top to a weathervane- it would have attached ... moreonto a pole at one point in time, with a directional underneath- I do not have those, so what you see is what you get. That being said, as it is, it could made for some very cool wall art if mounted on a wall- the possibilities are limited to your imagination. Measuring 33" long, it is 15 3/4" tall from the bottom of the(pole insert) to the top of the horse's ears. The hole at the base where it would mount is 7/8" measuring on the inside walls, with an interior(pole) hole of about 3/8. It weighs 3 3/4 lbs. and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. Aside from the wear to the finish, no issues at all. It's reallyreallyreally barn fresh dirty and cob-webby and needs a good cleaning- I have not cleaned in any way. Another fabulous farm find! Notice that an attractive feature on this vane is the scrolling zinc design in the middle on this vane. This vane measures 32″ long and at the widest point is 5 1/2″ wide. JUST FOUND IN A BARN OLD 1800S CHICKEN WEATHERVANE WITH NSEW AND BLUE BALL
YOU ARE BIDDING ON A WEATHERVANE FROM THE 1800S THAT WAS JUST DISCOVERED BY A FRIEND OF MINE IN AN OLD BARN. THIS IS JUST A GREAT PIECE. THE CHICKEN IS ALL HAND WROUGHT. THERE ARE NO HOLES OR SHOTGUN HOLES IN IT. IT IS PAINTED GOLD DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS ALWAYS GOLD OR ADDED LATER. COMES WITH THE NEWS ITEM THAT CAN BE MOVED AND ALSO A BLUE BULB. THE PIECE IS ON AN OLD STAND. ALL THE PIECES WERE SEPERATED FROM EACH OTHER BUT ASSUMED IT ALL WENT TO GETHER. THE ROOSTER IS VERY HEAVY ITSELF. IT IS SOLID. THE DIRECTIONS ARE MADE OF TIN. THE BLUE BULB LOOKS LIKE IT WAS HAND BLOWN. HAS SOME EDGE DAMAGE ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM. WHOLE THING MEASURES 42" TALL 18" IN LENGTH. THIS IS A SUPER PIECE FOR THE COLLECTOR.
