As is the rod is about 45" tall and can adjust up to approx. 68" It has an attached metal arrow with Blue slag glass in the arrow metal frame with some obvious damage to the glass. We found it in an old general store outside of the old Camp San Louis Obispo training camp( which dates to the First World War; the training area was actually sold to the US Govt during WW1 by W.R Hearst of the Sf Chronicle newspaper) The old general store was being re-utilized as storage. And they were planning on tearing it down next month. We were able to retrieve this old weathervane with their permission. It is being sold as pictured. As it is shown. Neat old vintage weather vane. Weather Vane: Antique High-Stepping Horse, Painted Iron, 33" Tall x 31.5" Wide
Weather Vane: Antique High-Stepping Horse, Painted Iron. 33" Tall x 31.5" Wide This is a really handsome Weather Vane featuring a high-stepping horse. I acquired him on a visit to South Dakota to see a friend with whom I was at university. The Horse and his Arrow are both made of heavy gage iron and seem to have several coats of paint. He is quite large and impressive. And it is a little difficult to make out his complicated patina with the different layers of paint. I think you can see this best in the details of the Horse's head and tail. As he stands now on his wooden stand. He is 33 inches tall and 30 1/2 inches wide. The Horse himself is 18 3/4 inches tall from his hooves to the top of his ears, and 24 inches long from the front of his raised leg to the tip of his flying tail. The arrow is 31 1/2 inches long, and is made ... moreof quarter inch iron. On one side he has a heavy strap support which is bolted on. And on the other side he has two sturdy holders for his support rod. They are also bolted. And both the holders and support strap are made of iron. The support rod was with the Horse when I first met hm, but I do not think he is as old as the Horse. I added the bit of hollow black steel and a copper footing at the bottom of the support rod to give the figure more visual stability. And I made the wooden stand from a piece of old beam when our barn home was reconstructed. This horse has always seemed to me to have both a noble and very cheerful feeling about him. With his high-stepping, his flying tail and his grin, which is still visible on one side. The other side seems to have suffered more wear and the smile has all but disappeared there. I am almost positive that this Horse is the work of some local craftsman. Rather than a mass producted piece. And my best guess is that he probably dates to the early years of the last century. I particualry enjoy the lyrically abstract treatment of his mane and terrific tail. The unusual double curl at the end of the arrow, where the fletchings would otherwis

People out there. This 15" X 19" vane came off one of the islands off the coast of Maine, don't ask me which one. We think it's probably earlier than 1840, it's 100% the way it was made, nothing has ever been done to it. We think it might very well be unique. Notice the whale. When it was taken down all they had to do was lift it off its shaft, thank God they took the time to take the shaft with it. We don't think you could ever find a match to it. This was taken down probably sometime before the civil war, long before factory weather vanes were even thought of. What a story he could tell, the rooster that is. Matching Pair of Antique Solid Copper Roof Vents/ Copulas. 24" Square Opening Matching Pair of Antique Solid Copper Roof Vents/ Cupolas I bought these years back for my barn conversion but never got to use them. They were salvaged from a barn or industrial building but they took care when taking them off…I picked the best 2 when I bought them. The bottom opening is 24” X 24” The overall height is about 33” to the tip at the top. The height to the top of the ring is about 29” The Diameter of the ring is about 28” There are no bullet holes or other major detracting damages but there are some expected dings etc. from usage& removal… the edges are bent from removal but should come back to shape for the most part when properly framed/mounted. ALSO. I see 1 has a dent on 1 side…again, this should be able to be reshaped for the most part ... moreby someone in the know as they are soft copper. Weight is estimated at 25 to 30 pounds each. I’d guess they are 70 to 100 or so years old. These are a good size for a house or a smaller barn(30’ X 50’ or so) or industrial building. Remember. These are SOLID COPPER& will buff to a high shine if you don’t like the original weathered look. You’ll have a hard time finding another pair like these especially at this price! *Rare* Unusual Dark Amber Round Old Lightning Rod Ball Root Beer?
This ball is what I believe to be an unusual dark shade of amber very clean old round lightning rod ball. Possibly"root beer" colored but use your discretion. I've never seen this color in the round ball before. Great condition. Please see pictures for condition. I have not tried washing the inside of the ball and will let the purchaser do that.

Nice vintage aluminum Flying Eagle Weathervane An estate find previous owner had painted the weathervane couple times. You can see the aluminum through some of the paint loss. Measures approx 33" long Comes in two parts. No cracks or chips. Weighs 9 lbs before packing. It will need some assembly I removed two screws for easier packing. They held the N E S W together on the pole. I will include the two screws in a bag. They have some paint. I would suggest to have replacement screws with no paint residue for easier assembly. Antique Running Horse Weathervane Late 19th Early 20th C Gilt & Verdigris
Antique Running horse weatherfane made of copper late 19th early 20th century. The rod having ice caps and angled with a support to the rear leg 31 3/4 inches nose to tail. Head is copper. The top of the vane and the rod show lots of old verdigris surface while the remainder is gilt some wear down to copper right side back leg. The tops of hoofs and edges where it is soldered together have verdigris.There is an old patched bullet hole(see Arrow) I did get one buckshot ball out of the vane. Very good detail full bodied weathervane. Ribs and genatials show in the casting. A very good fresh vane. Thank you all. Espically my underbidders. I appreciate you all.
