The rods are approx. 11" long, some are bent but could be rebent straight and attached to the stands that are stamped West Dodd Co, Goshen Ind. Copper Lightning Rod with BMG Ball
Up for Auction is a Copper Lightning Rod with Blue Milkglass Ball. The copper rod is in two separate pieces that measures 56 inches in its brace clamp iron stand. The iron stand has been spray painted black. And the top brace clamp is not original to this stand it is a modern clamp, see picture#4. The lightning rod ball is a blue milkglass globe that measures 4 1/2" wide with 1" diameter collar openings, the globe has a 3/4" piece out of the bottom collar, and chips out of the top collar but no cracks. This beautiful 70 plus year old weather vane comes from the wind swept prairies of a Northwest Kansas farm. It proudly indicated the wind direction from its perch above an Oakley. Kansas farm from before World War 2 till just recently. It was obtained from the estate of an elderly retired farmer who loved it so much that he held onto it all those years. If you want an authentic piece of handmade Americana that still works, you should consider this piece. It would look great in your garden or above your barn or shed. Vintage Weathervane Antique lightning rod Ball 21" Country Decor Farm Copper
For your consideration I have two copper lightening rods. They measure 21" tall. They do feature quite a bit of patina from years of being out in the elements but could be cleaned up nicely. The mounting brackets look as though they have been painted silver at some point. They both feature two rings with screws to hold the lightening ball in place. One goes on top and the other on the bottom of the ball. I am including a ball with each rod. One is a very pretty Easter purple color and the other is white. The balls are not cracked throughout but do exhibit some chips around the top and bottom rims as most all balls do. The rest of the ball is great condition. I do not have caps that go around the top and bottom rims of the balls. You do not need them but if you would like they can be purchased fairly inexpensive on Ebay. Antique Star Burst Weathervane Lightning Rod Topper Nova Flare, Brass Finial End
This great looking star burst brass lightning rod topper has it's original patina. I could find no makers mark. But these are not seen anymore and I think it dates back to the late 1800's. The star tips are sharp and I just can tell it's very old. This is being sold in antique condition, as shown in the photos. Nothing is hidden. The star burst topper is 8 3/4 inches high and 4 3/8 inches wide at the star. This is a very decorative topper and I'm sure it was more expensive than the norm when originally sold.

Vintage Amber Glass Weathervane Pendant or Christmas Tree Ornaments - Set of 4
Excellent vintage set of 4 amber glass weathervane pendant or Christmas tree solid glass balls. Each ball measures 1" in diameter and has a screw-on brass cap with great patina and a attachment loop. The brass fittings do have some stress cracks from use but they fit securely on the ball. There are also some minor chips on the glass from being outside. Item is described and shown as best I can.
