Exceptional CRIMSON RED Round Old Lightning Rod Ball
Very attractive crimson red 4.5 inch round lightning rod ball. Exceptional in that number one. It has the medium size openings which is unusual and thus fits the twisted rods and two, there are lots of bubbles in the glass which adds character. This rare vintage clear red lightning rod ball is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. It came off of an old Ohio livestock barn that was built in 1910. The globe is 5 1/2 inches tall stem to stem. It has a 1 1/4 inch rod hole.The circumference is 14 inches. There is a very small amount of roughness around the rod hole with a little rust residue due to age. It is a quality item. We accept paypal and personal checks. We will pay the insurance. Up for sale is a beautiful Rare Hawkeye Dark Ruby Red Lightning Rod Ball. It does have a 3/4" thick chip on the bottom collar(See picture#3) Which can be unnoticeable with the collar ring. There is also a hairline crack running from the chip up through the'W' on'Hawkeye' and continues through the middle of one of the stars. This would not photograph because of the deep red color of the glass. Do not let the damage detour you, it is still a very lovely hard to find piece.

Antique Cast Iron Lightning Rod Weather Vane Arrow Red Glass Panel Refinished 18
From a local estate. Here is a beautiful old cast iron weather vane arrow, would have fit on the old rooftop lightning rod on a house or barn. Overall length is 18.5" about 4" top to bottom. I'm guessing this was refinished at some point. The black paint looks too shiny and was probably applied over a rusty original, and the glass panel doesn't look right, probably a replacement. Vintage Lightning rod with weather vane red glass Blue globe
Up for bidding is a vintage lightning rod with weather vane and light blue glass globe. The globe has a few minor chips around the top edges of it as seen in the pics but they are hard to see when on the lightning rod and with weather vane on top. The weather vane is a directional one. Looks as though the original glass pane from the weather vane has been replaced with a different red pane. Possibly plastic, so I dont believe its entirely original. Antique Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow Ruby Red Glass Tail
This antique lightning weathervane is made of cast iron with rudy red glass tail. Please see in picture 2 there is damage to the tail. Where one of the iron decorative swirls came off at the bottom. Measures 18 1/2 inches long. There is some rusting. There is slight damage, imperfections to the glass two corners of the glass has been chipped, slightly noticeable, but not large enough to have major damage. There is also an area at the edge there is a spot where its a clear glass that has formed a slight appearance of clouding, it appears to be either manufacturing imperfection in the glass or it got hit by lighting? Please see photos. If you can't spot the areas where there is imperfections please let me know that you would like to view it and i will post a photo.

ANTIQUE Red Stained Glass Lightning Rod BALL Weathervane Dark RUBY BARN Find
You won't believe how my husband came across this beautiful lightning rod ball! He was on a farmstead here in Kansas. Looking in barns. Outside of one he found it on the ground. The owner said the dogs(5 of them) had been rolling it around on the ground. We can't believe but it had to have blown off the rod, rolled down the barn roof and dropped on the ground! How it survived all that I don't know! Anyway it measures approx. 4 1/2 inches from end to end. There is a large shallow dimple from when it was made. It is a beautiful dark ruby color. There is clear color at the ends. So it has been painted originally(on the inside) It has mold lines from where it was blown in a mold. I see a couple small areas that look like bubbles but I believe they are not bubbles only spots of lighter color, hardly noticeable. I am unable to get a ... moregood picture of them. Antique, Flash Red/ 5" high x 4.267 w, Round Pleated, LIGHTNING ROD BALL
Referred to as Barnett Ball. Offered by Jos. Barnett& Co. of Riverside. Iowa. Began business around 1896 and was out of business by the depression. Barnett referred to these balls as‘corrugated’ or ornamental. From my research I have done on the Net and what the collectors have told me is that these Vintage Flash Red Barnett balls are extremely rare. I have 3 of them and each will be in its own separate auction. the one you are bidding on is shown in the picture and as described.

RARE Ruby Red Kretzer Raised Quilt Glass Lightning Rod Ball NOT A FLAT QUILT!
Here we have for sale a rare and very seldom offered true red Raised Quilt pattern lightning rod ball. This is not the common Flat Quilt that is offered on here once or twice a week. That ball has be produced. Reproduced, and over produced over the years. This pattern has not been reproduced, thank goodness. This pattern ball was offered by St. Louis L.R.Co. and then by National- St. Louis. It was even offered by West Dodd. Not sure if red was available from them but the first two companies, definitely. I've owned this ball for 23 yrs. When I bought the ball from a fruit jar collector in Illinois it had no caps. The one collar was mint, the other had a chip that went to the ball but not into the ball. No cracks or fractures radiated from said chip. It was a clean chip. I used elmers glue and plaster to affix an original Kretzer Brand ... morecap. I don't like silicone. I did that to keep any further damage from occuring. The other cap which is worn is not affixed. Thats all there is to report as far as damage goes. This is a great ball and you do not see these raised quilts offered in red. There are 2 colors this comes in. Blood red and a cherry red. This is a blood red version but as you can see, it's a looker. The cherry red is much rarer. I've also shown another rock solid way to tell a raised quilt from a flat quilt, besides the obvious, the collars on a raised quilt are always threaded. A flat quilt has a normal straight or ringed collar. Don't let the collar chip scare you. This is a very nice ball and it displays mint! Ball and caps are 100% old antique original! Purchased at an Estate Sale. In good vintage condition. Has years of dirt/ dust on piece. There is some rust. The red glass panel has paint or somthing on it. I have not even tried to clean this up. You will receive this in as found condition. The panel has a moon and a shooting star on it. Looks to be all original. Measures about 23" long. Payment is due within 3 days of auction ending. It is in fair condition with one stem half broken off with a little break into the ball that would not cover with the collar you use(not included) Very clean and still solid ball. Please realize that these have been on a barn roof for approx. 100 years or more. There may be tiny stem chips or light dirt film on inside. Ornate Victorian scroll work makes up the arrow and tail frame. And it has a plain piece of metal inset in the tail- everything was painted at one time with red and silver. The metal of the arrow and frame does not attract a magnet. And we can we can see brass showing through in places where the paint is worn. The piece of metal in the tail does attract a magnet. And there is some surface rust where the paint is worn. Selling this As Found- we've done no cleaning. Nice. CONDITION- Vintage. Used. The front of the arrow has a slight bend to it. Antique iron Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow - Moon & Star - Art Deco Red Glass
Offering up for auction an antique lightning rod weather van arrow. It measures 22-1/2 inches long by 4-1/2 inches wide at the glass panel section. The glass panel measures about 6-1/4 by 2-1/2 inches. The art deco style red glass panel is etched with a moon and a shooting star design. This decoration is actually carved into the glass. There is rust and pitting but no sections are weakened by the rust. There are no cracks in the glass panel but there is one 1/4 inch chip.
