One wheel is missing a spoke and two spokes are loose on one end. I can see no other areas that need repair. This has been in a private collection for over 20 years. I do not know the original area that it came from. We had it appraised 10 years ago And the value was $10.000. This is a 22 1/2 inch long lightning rod wind direction arrow marked Kretzer on one side and St Louis on the other. Manufactured around 1910. It is metal and meant to have a piece of colored glass in the tail. The glass needs replaced with the color of yor choice. The metal has a green color and may have been painted long ago. Antique Primitive Wood Prop Propeller Fan Wind Vane Weathervane Barn Farm Ranch
Recently acquired from an estate. This auction is for a fantastic primitive antique weather wind vane. With a fan at one end and a prop at the other, the entire thing is made of wood with the exception of the fan, its made of tin. The workmanship on the prop is amazing. Entire length is 20-1/4 inches. Still has remnent of original paint on wood. Prop measures 8 inches across. In the center of the wood is the original nail that affixed this piece to the remainder of the body. Charming Dutch themed weather vane/ wind toy/ Whirligig has coats of thick, old paint in layers from when the barn was painted periodically and the farmer spruced up the weathervane to go with the new paint on the barn. American Indian Copper Wind Vane
The Indian is copper with the original patina. I don't know how old it is. As you can see. This item is not perfect and needs some repair. The bow string needs to be attached at the hand and the top part of the bow needs to be attached. With a little solder, this will be a great item. Wind Vane Directional Letters Old Vintage Solid Cast Brass
This auction is for the two directional arms for a wind vane. They are cast in heavy brass. The two arm halves nest together in a slotted fitting. There would be a pipe running up through the center to support a movable arm and finial. I used a piece of hardware to approximate the assembly in the picture. You can use a piece of conduit or re-bar or pipe from Lowes hardware. The two pieces have the original slotted brass screws that act as securing fittings to clamp the arms in place. These are old. Probably Pre-WWII. The arms are about 2 feet across. Letters are about 3 or 4 inches tall. I can take a better measurement if needed. Feel free to ask any questions in advance. Old copper eagle weather vane / wind vane/ americana/
This is an original hand made Copper eagle weathervane. A real piece of Americana. Would make a wonderful display or conversational piece. Has a few dings but no major damage. Tarnished and aged naturally over many years of outside elements. This is original and not a reproduction like most others listed. This piece comes from a historical estate in Coleman. Texas. When I was a small child I remember drive by this grand old three story house with huge white columns. My dad would always point out the carriage house,stables, and servant quarters in back. I would gave at the grand eagle on top, along with the lightning rods. I am now 50 years old. I went to an estate sale there a few weeks ago and mentioned to the owner that I always loved the eagle that use to sit up on the carriage house. The owner told me that the house was over a 150 years old and that the piece was original to the house when his parents bought it in 1915. I believe this to be a original 1800's vane. eagle is around 21 inches high, 24 long and 21 wide.
