VINTAGE Americana Brass Weather vane 2' Tall X 18" W Folk Art Aluminum
Vintage folk art Americana brass colored Weather vain 18 inches wide by 2 feet tall. The top of the weather-vane- the arrow. has a beautiful artistic Design which is a Wagonwheel followed by cutouts in the Arrow. See pictures) There is also much detail on the weather vane which includes some small Stamped stars and hammering around the base. RI am not sure exactly where this came from. However it would be a great decorative item for your folk art or Americana decor. This is a vintage item, and has some nice spots of use and has a chic folk Art feel. ANTIQUE AMERICAN FOLK ART LIGHTING ROD/WEATHER VANE - MAN IN JALOPY
Just off a barn in central Iowa where it's stood for over 90 years. 55 1/2" Tall. Arrow with man in jalopy is 24 3/4" long with the car itself 10" long and 5" high. Car is aluminum. Arrow and 3 shafts to legs are cast iron and are weathered. No breaks. Lightning rod is copper which has verdigris with time. Only problem is the ring under the arrow has split. Does not affect it in any way. Could be replaced. This is"as found" condition with a great old surface from age and exposure. Very folk art in appearance. Would be a great addition to any lightning rod collection. Please ask me any questions you may have and thank you for looking at my auction.

antique folk art pig weather vane rusted sheet metal
The sheet metal this pig is cut from is 1/16th wide so it is bendable. The pig stands 15 3/4" tall; the arrow is 19 1/2" long. The pig and arrow are not removable from the stand which measures as an oval 4 1/2" X 8" The pig rotates but would probably not do so in the wind or unless it was lubricated with oil or silcone. The stand is heavy and can tolerate rotation; it is heavy and the entire piece weighs 4 pounds. It is meant to stand on the oval as there are no screw holes or ways to mount the weather vane. The only history of this that I know is that it was part of an estate and unwanted by the heirs. It is a very pleasing. Has wonderful, rusty patina; and is a somewhat unique piece of folk art.

Antique circa1840 Folk Art Weather Vane
People out there. This 15" X 19" vane came off one of the islands off the coast of Maine, don't ask me which one. We think it's probably earlier than 1840, it's 100% the way it was made, nothing has ever been done to it. We think it might very well be unique. Notice the whale. When it was taken down all they had to do was lift it off its shaft, thank God they took the time to take the shaft with it. We don't think you could ever find a match to it. This was taken down probably sometime before the civil war, long before factory weather vanes were even thought of. What a story he could tell, the rooster that is. Antique American Folk Art Tin Car Weather Vane Sedan 3 D ESTATE BARN FIND! Estate find in California. This is a great medium size folk art weather vane. Rare three dimensional car! No roosters or horses here, this is a nice antique car formed out of tin and mounted on a vertical pole with direction cross members. The cross members have the compass directions also cut from tin. I'm not sure of the model car but it has a long sleek body. Possibly a sedan of sorts, tin spoke wheels a formed headlights and a double ball hood ornament. There is a stud in the base of the car for mounting on the compass pole. Good antique condition with original green-grey patina. Has some tin peeling on the base of the car and the front below the grill. This is due to being out in the weather for years before being stored away in a barn. The car's structure ... moreis still strong otherwise. Can be tacked on to the side of a building or fitted on small stand. Weather vane will be shipped in two pieces and well padded. Antique Cast Iron Lightning Rod Weather Vane Arrow Old Rustic folk art 23"
Up for auction is this one-of-a-kind weather vane arrow. It has an incredible patina from being exposed to the elements for a century. I believe the front half is cast iron. the back of it is made of thick twisted wire. It is at least 100 years old. I wouldn't be surprised if it dates back to the 1800's. It measures 23" long. It is mounted on a wooden base, and swings freely. The entire item is made of tin, EXCEPT for the handle, which I believe is made out of wood. Antique rooster weathervane wood with metal. Found in an old barn on property I purchased. The property was a one family estate. The item measures 24"L by 14"H(24"H on included stand) It is exactly as I found it except for the display stand. The paint and metal seem weathered but in fairly good shape. I think its age may date to 1940 but not sure. Very interesting piece great rustic decor. Sold as is.

Here we have a beautiful antique copper horse weather vane from days gone by. Still in beautiful shape with only a few slight dings. Fell in love with the wonderful size. Patina and age of this copper weather vane. It is all oxidized copper mounted no an iron stand. The Weather vane was found in upstate New York. There is one small repair on the lower shaft where an extension of copper was added. The vane stands 17" tall on the stand and 13" long. From tip of directional letter to the opposite letter is 7 1/2" If you wanted to use this outside it is very sturdy, but it will display well anywhere because of it's size. Item ID: B2434

Antique Vintage Horse Weather Vane Folk Art Original Paint Barn Lightning Rod
Lovely piece of folk art. This vintage weather vane is painted brown, with black mane and eye and harness with rose on one side. There is a jagged hole right on the center of the rose on the harness where this was probably hit with a shot of some kind. There are no other dents or cracks. 11 inches wide by 9-1/2 inches high. I am not sure what type of metal this is made of. But it is non-magnetic. Perhaps old zinc? There are a couple of very small scuffs on the paint where the metal underneath looks like a dull gray. The metal is hollow and not too heavy. The horse weighs 6.9 oz. Two of the hooves have holes in the back where this was attached to the rest of the weathervane. This antique work of art. Horse& sulky with rider, copper with patina/and brass/cast iron,zinc? weather vane. I was told it was made in the 1800's it was on an old barn that was built in the 1800's so it most likely was the original weather vane put there when it was built. I love this beautiful piece of Americana folk art. The horses ears are missing,it needs some minor fixes,some parts need welded,there is a crack in the base& the end piece of the base is missing but it still is usable, in all its in great shape for its age and the fact that it was in use until recently. The most important parts still exist. It measures 33" long 14" high to the top of the riders head.It is a true vintage work of art! Natural wear and imperfections just add more character! I was told by the vendor that it was used as a scarecrow in the corn fields and that the silhouette of a person would be enough to scare away the birds. I am not so sure of the story. But I like it! It could be part of a weather vane or an old advertising sign(or even indeed a scarecrow! I really don't know. I would guess from the style of the face that it was made some time in the late 19th Century or early 20th Century. It is approximately 14 1/2 inches tall by 12 inches wide at the widest point. Antique Weather vane with Anemometer - Folk Art - Must see!!!
You are looking at a Antique Weather vane. I'm not sure of its age. But I took it off the top of a dairy barn in Upstate NY that was built in 1880. It has the directions of the compass, with a wind arrow that swivels. In the center is an anemometer.which is something I have never seen on an old antique weather vane. It is rusty from it's years in the weather, but all parts seem to move properly. It has a really nice folk art look. Antique Folk Art Tall Rooster Iron Weather Vane Long Island Shipping Available
This is an incredible antique iron weather vane in the form or a Rooster. The vane stands 53 1/2" tall that's 4 feet 5 1/2" and is 36 1/2" wide. It is made of iron with iron brackets and rosehead(hand made) rivets. The Rooster came from Long Island New York possibly from a barn however there are no bullet holes or marks. But then again it is iron. We have him standing on an iron folk art stand, very sturdy. The Rooster is painted with dark highlights and there are traces of gold guiding on the surface. The iron is almost 1/8" thick and the bracketing is incredible. The Rooster is more than likely from the early to mid 1800"s as this is when this style of construction was popular. The solid cast iron casting is in very good condition with the horse broken off. Possibly from wind? The cast iron has great texture and orange color from its years on top of a house or barn. The copper pipe that supports the horse is starting to split from ice and rain. See photo’s. You may want to replace that part when your add a tail.
