Up for bid is a Vintage Cast Aluminum Horse and Buggy Weathervane. This vane is in EXCELLENT CONDITION! Though it has a few layers of paint. It is free from any cracks, breaks, or damages. It would make a great addition to your collection and will display nicely. It fits on the post of the Rooster Weathervane I have listed in another auction. This 19th century folk art piece is hand crafted from all copper metals. It is well weathered and shows a nice patina. The horse and buggy measures 28" long and 14" tall. Solid cast aluminum weathervane is in very good condition with a few dings and scrapes.Completely intact with no missing pieces. Black matte finish in very good condition. Hammered effect on wind directional arrow.Main vertical shaft and on base. Vane is 28 inches high.Directional arrow is 24 inches long.2 aluminum lightning arrester globes. One is 2 inches across and the other is 3 inches across. Horse and buggy are 14 inches long and 6 inches high.Dirrectional letters N.S.E.W. are 3 1/2 inches high and 2 inches wide. Adjustable base plate is 10 inches long and 2 inches wide. It weighs 1500 grams.

Horse and Doctor Buggy Weathervane with Directionals
For auction is a doctor buggy drawn by horse weathervane with directional. I do not know if this a reproduction or not. The ball looks loose in the picture but it was not adjusted right and the ball drops down further and fits pretty good. I am also not sure if the directional is original to the piece. It measures 32" long and 16" tall without the directional and 5 1/2" wide. The directional is 29" tall and the N S and E W are not the same length. N-S measures about 18" and E-W measures about 22" This piece is in very good condition(makes me think reproduction) but does have a nice patina.

THIS IS THE STORY I WAS TOLD AT ESTATE SALE BY SON. THIS CAME FROM ROCKINGHAN PARK IN SALEM NH IN 1980 AFTER THE FIRE. AT THE PARK. THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. I LOOKED FOR PICTURES OF THE PARK AND I COULD NOT FIND ONE WITH A PICTURE OF A WEATHERVANE. SO THIS MAY BE JUST A STORY SO DON'T BID BY STORY BUT WANTED TO TELL YOU WHAT I WAS TOLD. THANK YOU This is a wonderful antique copper weathervane Sulky. Driver, and Horse Like from Courier and Ives as far back as c.1870. The weathervane is mounted on a 31" long copper tube under the horse(as pictured) With an opening underneath with which to mount directionals, etc. The height of the vane is about 17.5 inches at it's highest point and approx. 10 inches at its widest point. Antique/Vintage Horse & Buggy Weathervane Topper
This Amish looking horse& buggy was possibly meant to be a weathervane topper. The estate owner found more decorative use as it was painted black on one side with the natural grey. Pot metal on the other. Both sides are very detailed in the molding. Overall measurement is 14.5"long& 6.25"height. There are 2 holes at the base where it was to be mounted to an arrow. The pictures show the detail on the grey side best, the finished side is harder to see with my camera shot. Fun primitive/country décor! This is for a Large Antique Iron Horse Drawn Buggy Fire Department Fire Fighters Firemen Weathervane Wind Vane Folk Art. It measures 36 1/2" inches by 16" inches. It is in absolutely great condition but has been shot a few times with a low powered BB gun because it did not penetrate or dent the weathervane. It Just barely knocked the paint off of the horse around the heart area. It is not warped or bent. It say Pisgah VFD. I Do not Know if it is Original Paint or not and all of The paint shows signs of age and there is minor surface rust here and there, Very Minimal) It was found in the NC Mountains in a Hay loft of an Old Barn. FOR SALE is this antique metal weathervane that dates from at least the 1940's. Possibly older. It was recovered from a barn in Northern Michigan. The top accent features oxen pulling a wagon and measures 29" wide. The whole piece is 36" tall. Overall in good condition. The top accent spins well. No broken or loose pieces. The finish was painted over at one point as you can see by the light spots in the picture. The base has a locking bolt swivel so that it can mounted on a slanted roof.
