Electra Cone" white milk, very nice. Electra Cone" blue milk. Has collar chip, cap covers. D&S" sun colored purple, very bold embossing for this ball, nice shape. Electra Round" sun colored purple, few collar chips, but caps covers them all. Electra Round" blue milk, good shape. 4-1/2 Plain Round" deep sun colored purple milk glass, nice shape. Plain 4-1/2" Round" dark cobalt blue, nice shape. Mast" white milk, collar ... morechip, cap covers completely. Old set of caps on this one. Barnett Round Pleat" white milk, nice shape. Moon& Stars" sun colored purple, small chip on one collar. Moon& Star" amber, small nick on one collar. Chestnut" lite sun colored purple tint, nice shape. Chestnut" super translucent blue milk color. This is a very very unusual color, that is not listed in any of the price guides. You will not be disappointed! Very nice condition. Last is a"Diddie Blitzen" sun colored purple, roughness on one collar. No cracks or bb damage to any of these. You get a Munson style kitetail with original cobalt blue textured glass, missing tail fin. Glass is not broke. A rare, hard to find"Shinn Loop" it a real nice example. Last is a 18" Fleur-De-Lis. Glass is original, has a small chip behind the cast tab. Glass is uncleaned. Frame is undamaged and fits a large twisted rod. You also get a 5ft. copper twisted rod w/ a Phoenix marked bayonet. antique cast iron lightning rod directional. No breaks or repairs in the cast iron. As you can see in the tail part that part of the tin is missing. Rare Antique Large Hollow Body Old Goose Duck Bird Weathervane - Great Patina!
ANTIQUE WEATHER VANE PERFECT FOR THE TOP OF A HOME OR GARAGE OR BARN– PLACE IN A GARDEN IN THE SOIL OR ON A POLE– USE AS A DÉCOR ITEM IN AN EARLY AMERICANA STYLE Acquired at an estate sale is this antique weather vane. Features a goose on top of an unknown metal with hollow body. The goose measures about 27 ½ inches from the tip of one wing to the other wing and 24 inches from the bill to the tail. Great details to the goose with its legs and feet on one side up near its body as in flight. The goose has a hole in the bottom that the rod slides over and allows it to turn to indicate the wind direction. The overall measurement of this piece is 46 ½ inches tall! The measurement of the directions is 18 inches. The bottom shaft measures 19 ½ inches. The bottom larger ball measures about 4 inches across. The spacer in the middle ... morefor the directions is 3 inches. The top ball is 2 inches across. The metal rod between the top ball and the bottom of the goose is 4 inches. Based on the patina and rust of the rod I think it is cast iron or steel. The decorative balls appear to be copper. I am not sure what metal the directions are. There are no apparent hallmarks as to the maker. Age, country or region of origin. This weathervane was in use when I acquired it. EARLY 1900's LIGHTENING ROD with ARROW WEATHER VANE with ORIGINAL YELLOW GLASS
This is a RARE find. It is a COMPLETE LIGHTENING ROD with ORIGINAL CAST IRON ARROW with YELLOW SLAG GLASS INSERT. The lightening rod is 59 1/2" tall and has great patina. The arrow is 21 1/2" long and has the original yellow slag glass insert that is not cracked. The medium blue ball is 4 1/2" across and does have chips around the openings. It comes with the original metal rod holder that secures it to the roof. I purchased this from the original owner who's house was built in 1918. Thanks for looking. Two Lightning Rods Dated Dec 12,1893 Made by Cole Bros. Bout 6' tall brass poin
You're bidding on two Ca. dated 1893 Lightning rods that have the tri-stands to mount and both are bout 6' tall.Don't know what the twisted metal is and perhaps aluminum or magnesium(perhaps you collectors do)The spear points are round 12-14" tall and are brass as well as all of the connections.The globes are a very pale yellow and a pale purple.The pail yellow has about 1/3 of the lip gone but don't see when the caps are on the top and bottom. No other issues with them that I can tell.The old tin sleeves that go thru the globes is junk from years of rain. Etc.I took these off an abandoned farmhouse in western okla bout 50 years ago.All of the metal is perfect and just needs cleaned or polished.The tri legs are probably iron and all are in tact to mount.Please email with questions please.Good Luck.

WEATHER VANE / FLAGPOLE TOPPER: Antique Eagle, Gilded Metals,17" Tall x 11" Wide
WEATHER VANE/ FLAGPOLE TOPPER: Antique Eagle. Gilded Metals, 17" Tall x 11" Wide If you set your monitor at FULL SCREEN from TOOLS you will be better able to view the photos. This is a beautifully modeled and cast antique Eagle made from a metal which I cannot identify except to say that it is non-ferric. The ball is gilded copper. The gilding was applied over a heavy coat of mustard colored sizing which was sometimes used on objects meant for outdoors so that when the gilding started to wear. It wouldn't be so obvious. Much of the gilding and some of the yellow undercoat has worn away from exposure to the elements. I bought this Eagle in New Hampshire more than twenty years ago in a shop along Route 401 that runs between Concord and Portsmouth. It used to be called"Antique Alley" as there were dozens of fine antique ... morestores along the way. I haven't been back in a long time. But the last time I made that run, there were many fewer stores than there used to be. The man from whom I bought this Eagle told me he thought it was part of an old Weather Vane. Maybe. But I don't think so. It looks me as if it may have been meant to go on top of a flag pole. Except that it is much too finely modeled. The feathers are all beautifully articulated and the wings are differentiated from each other. The left wing is raised slightly higher and the tips of its end feathers are more curved than those of the right wing. If it was meant for a flag pole, it must have been a special one. Or it could have been part of some other kind monument which would have been visible at a much closer range than a flag pole. Frankly, I don't really know. But I do know that it is a beautiful thing. On his wooden stand. This Eagle measures 17 1/4 inches tall. The Eagle and the ball are 10 1/2 inches tall. From wingtip to wingtip, he is 11 1/4 inches wide and from his beak to the tip of his tail feathers, he is 6 1/8 inches long. The top features a sperm whale measuring 25" by 7" The N/S/E/W spokes measure 18" across. And the pole stands 18 1/2" high. Altogether, the whale measures approx. 26" tall. I have tested the weathervane with WD-40, but it does not turn. The copper has a light green patina and verdigris which adds to the antique character and overall appeal of this piece. The weathervane is in good condition for its age. But the tail section is a little rusty on top from being out in the elements. It has natural green patina on the copper. This is an antique purple lightning rod ball that measures 5" from top to bottom of collars. This comes with the one original COLE BROS screw on cap with patent date of Dec. 12-1893 for the threaded collar. There are a few bubbles in glass that is natural for this age. Also. As you can see in the photos there are minor chips on the rims of caps. Collar screw areas are in very good shape. Vintage Antique 68" Copper Lightning Rod with Blue W.C. Shinn Milk Glass Ball
This is a beautiful old copper lightning rod with metal stand and blue milk glass W.C. Shinn Mfg. Co. ball. The copper has a fantastic green patina and the stand has some surface rust. But it is still sturdy and functional. There are holes in the ends of the stand legs for attaching the stand to the roof or other structure. The glass ball is a bold robin's egg blue with the words W.C. Shinn Mfg. Co. wrapped around the middle. There are some tiny chips missing from the top rim and two larger chips missing from the bottom as shown in the 4th, 7th, and last photo. The ball still sits nicely on the metal disk, and there are no cracks in the glass anywhere. The white disk you can see under the ball on the photos is a thin foam disk that is there to protect the bottom rim of the ball, but it is not necessary and can be slipped right off. I ... morewill remove the stand and ship that part along with the ball in a separate box from the lightning rod to protect the ball from breakage and lower shipping cost. Vintage Large Rooster Barn Weathervane copper hollow body Eastern shore Md
Up for consideration is this outstanding copper hollow body rooster weathervane. Complete with cardinal points. Small and large balls and stand as shown. The patina is beautiful and untouched. All seams are in great shape. there are no dents or damege to any surfaces. This rooster is just how he was when I removed him from an elderly ladys roof. Please feel free to ask any questions. Roof Glass was used to highlight the peaks or crowns of Old Victorian houses. It was made to sit in a channel along the peak to go along with and enhance the weathervanes also used. Roof glass was sometimes used with the Burgoon Lightning rod ball system. It is embossed with: Pat. Dec. 1. 91. 1 Sometimes the Victorian ladies would try and out do each other with weathervanes and decoration on their homes. This piece measures approx: 6 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
