ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL BARN ROOF CUPOLA
Up for bid. Is as the title states, one of three absolutely stunning antique architectural barn roof tin and wrought iron cupolas. Recently found in Western MD. but originally came from a Mennonite barn built in Waynesboro, PA. around the early to mid 1800's. The largest cupola, seen in the center is the first one we will sell, however, the winning bidder will have to option of purchasing the other two at the end of this auction. This cupola, unlike the other two, stands close to 10' high x around 3-1/2 to 4' in diameter. You'll notice there are a few holes in the tin, but structurally it all appears to be at a place where it could easily be restored. Being skilled in the restoration of these pieces, I would do it myself, if I only had the time, and would be happy to do the restoration for the winning bidder upon a successful ... moresale, if they are interested. The base of this piece looks to be about 30" square and although we don't have the vent houses that these cupolas originally sat on, a base could still be built for each one. The third picture shows how high this one stands, and if you look closely, you'll notice that guy standing there next to the cupola is holding the weathervane that came off of the top of it, which we will include with this cupola only. We don't have the copper ligh tening rod cable. The finial and inverted cone portions of the cupolas do have some white glass insulators still wired on. The weathervane as seen. Has a rear area made up of rusty tin and not what was once probably a piece of stained glass. All 3 of the cupolas are easy to handle and were transported to my farm by me and the guy in the picture on my pickup truck. Due to size, we would appreciate the winning bidder picking these up here in Fawn Grove. PA. 17321, however we do have a couple delivery guys who can take them for you, across the country just in case you don't live down the street or arou nd the block. Great antique barn cupola just off an old barn roof. Missing the glass lightning ball as shown. One side is rusty and cracked on the bottom portion that was nailed to the roof as shown. It is cracked and weakened. But complete and intact. Measures 6 ft tall overall and the bottom is 28-inches wide overall. Condition as shown. Antique Soldered Tin Folk Art Cupola Finial Architectural Roof Garden Ornament
This auction is for an antique soldered Galvanized TIN CUPOLA with a great oxidized patina. This Cupola is in excellent structural condition. It is fabricated by an unusual kind of corrugated zinc coated tin(steel) sheet metal similar to the texture of corduroy. The rust oxidation is mostly on the exterior surface and the metal is still solid with its original thickness(not rusted through or badly corroded) It appears that this piece was never painted and the original galvanized zinc cladding has been eroded by the elements. The result is a great antique rust patina which tells the true age of this piece. The dimensions are 22" tall and 15" square( at widest part) The original galvanized zinc remains mostly intact on the interior. There is some roofing tar residue on one side. This will make a great architectural detail to any old ... morestructure or in a garden setting.

It has the original paint which has worn a bit. Actually gives it a neat shabby Chic look. Has a neat angled seam to a point on four sides. Great to make a top for your vintage garden house or shed or Bar B Que. the hard roof structure is done. Measures about 16" high at point from base. Just a tad over 36" square on the outside. It is very old- early all hand made- hammered- cut and made over old wood and i would guess composition form under and all the copper metal work then hand applied and shaped over. We have left it alone in original as found condition- original curtsy- yet beautiful natural aged patina. Nice and heavy in weight. This is an antique Barn roof ventilator or cupola.Made of tin. Rusty with character and it turns with the wind! Comes in two pieces, ready to install on your roofline etc. So unique. Looks to have been used on an old barn originally, not sure, selling as is. no returns.does turn pretty smoothly too! any questions please ask! 19thC Architectural Cupola Capital Dome Copper Folk Art weathervain roof cap NR
Just out of a nice estate contents- Here is an amazing 19th Century Americana Old Folk Art Copper Cupola- rooftop weathervane base vent cap in the Capital Dome shape and form with a gallery around the dome. It is very old- early all hand made- hammered- cut and made over old wood and i would guess composition form under and all the copper metal work then hand applied and shaped over. We have left it alone in original as found condition- original curtsy- yet beautiful natural aged patina. Nice and heavy in weight. There is a hole in the top pointed area I guess for where a smaller size weathervain. Wind arrow or lightning rod went. As you see in picture#4 there is only one wood mount peg. There is one small area on the dome part that is not covered with copper( seen in picture#6) there is a small intact break one side of the gallery surround ... moreof the dome- otherwise that we know all original intact condition with some bends- creases to bottom area( read above report- item specifics) Measures: 13 1/2" inch H x 15" x 15" approx. around the outer bottom area from end to end square it measures about 57- 58"inches- the bottom underside mount area is approx. 11 x 11" inches in a square with a 9" across opening vent area) A great old Cupola suitable for any collector or home. For sale is a pair of antique metal Star barn ventilator cupolas. These are really nice for their age and a matched pair too. The dimensions on each of these are as follows: 23 inches tall. 16 inches deep at the top and 13 1/2 inches wide at the top. The top does rotate 360 degrees. The base measures 20 inches by 18 inches give or take. The star that is on the back of the top is 6 inches by 6 inches. These would make great accents or put them back to use as what they were originally made for! The sale is for two together. The asking price for the pair is $595.00.
