The Ribbed Grape pattern features three rows of circles with ribbed panels above and below. The ball has 18 circles in the center row. The pattern was produced by different manufacturers, I believe this one is a National Lightening Protection Co ball as the Fenton balls measure smaller. The piece measures 5 1/2" high. 4 1/2" in diameter and weighs 9.8 oz. The piece has chips and fleabites around the fitter ends which is extremely common. VINTAGE WEATHERVANE LIGHTNING ROD ARROW primitive wrought or cast iron part
For your consideration is a vintage weathervane/ lightning rod arrow that I recently came across at a local estate auction. It measures 13 inches in length. It looks quite old and it looks like it may have been buried at some point. For some reason the end opposite the point is not nearly as pitted as the rest of the piece. It appears that it may be fragile so I wouldn't go trying to bend it. I have a good padded box to ship it in so that it arrives undamaged. Please inspect the photos and if you have any questions. You are bidding on the original antique fish weathervane as described in the listing title and as seen in the11 photos. Patina and weathering. No issue noted except a small split where the two copper pieces come together and was soldered. This is an authentic antique piece with natural aging, weathering and patina. The item measures 24"L by 14"H(24"H on included stand) It is exactly as I found it except for the display stand. The paint and metal seem weathered but in fairly good shape. Vintage Copper Squirrel Weathervane
Nice vintage copper squirrel weathervane. There are a couple of small splits at the sodder seams near the bottom of the weathervane. The vane itself is approx. 23" h x 21" w. The bottom bar is 23" long and the stem is 3" Dent on tail and slight indentation to sides. It is a hollow body. There is some remnants of lacquer and the vane has started to oxidize. Hi. Up for auction is an old lightning rod we took off my parents house this fall. the house was built in 1974. how old the rod is, I'm not sure. it is made of aluminum, it is 17-1/2" h and the arrow is 17" L. the directional arrow has a moon figure on it. the point is intact, ex condition. it comes with the roof mount bracket, ready to install. the ball is yellow plastic. it has NO holes or cracks but there is some gunk built up on it due to being out in the weather all these years. the whole thing is in EX condition.

It measures 30" long x 9" tall and retains what appears to be original or close to original paint in vivid barn red and silver on the arrow. Rare Antique Kretzer Weather Vane Lightning Rod Arrow Original Glass St. Louis
Rare antique Kretzer Lightning Rod Weather Vane This is a hard to find piece with the original green"Kretzer" glass in the tail. The glass is textured on one side and"Kretzer" is reversed applied- like a decal. Not painted, to the other, smooth side. It is a gold colored lettering with a black outline. There are a few small areas where the wording has come off. There are no chips in the glass at all. The arrow is most likely painted brass as it does not attract a magnet. Kretzer St. Louis" is cast into one side. It is in very good shape with no cracks or chips. Some patina on the rod and the glass has some film/dirt on the back side. I did not want to clean this. Pendants are the ultimate in lightning rod ornamentation. Pendants were hung from a hook that was part of a thin metal cap. This fragile setup most didn't survive and its safe to assume that all pendants are RARE. Very desirable antique Red Flashed RIBBED& PANELLED PENDANT. Perfect condition has original cap but no hook. Under the cap is 100+ years of dirt. I didn't clean the pendant so it is dirty but there is no damage. This is the last pendant that I'm selling so don't miss out on this rare beauty. Vintage Shinn Weathervane Antique Lightning Rod Ball Cobalt Blue Old
This is a really nice full set of cobalt blue lightning rod ball. Pendants and pendant hanger. The 4 1/2" ball is marked Shinn Systems but not the Pendants. The hanger is included in this sale along with the 4 pendants and the round ball but not the rod itself. The whole set seem to be in very good original condition with no cracks or chips that are noticeable. The ball and pendants have a lot of imperfections in the glass and the pendants are pleated in shape. The 4-1/2' ball has on imperfection by one of the caps looks like a very small chip or mold issue and very small also, the 4- 1/2" ball holes are not perfectly centered in the ball. Vintage gold gilt full bodied American eagle weathervane. The eagle is standing on a ball and has wings in full spread. The metal beneath is either copper or zinc. Fiske(New York City. 1870-1893) This vane is a pristine example and displays beautiful form and surface. Extremely nice natural verdigris surface from exposure to the elements and still showing some remnants of yellow sizing/gilt. Please see photos and condition report. This is a remarkable find. A similar vane is currently listed for $4999.99 on ebay, and another comparable sold at auction for $4250 + 15% buyers premium this past July(same size, same design, worse patina than mine. This auction includes 4 metal lightning rod pendants that are 4.5" tall by 3" wide. The original screw-on caps are long gone. The caps that are present are plastic with a metal hook-eye to hang with and they ... morehave remnants of red paint on them. There are very small spots of red on a few of the pendants. As pictured. The old copper/bronze Pendant Hanger is included with the 4 Pendants and is in good condition. Each arm of the pendant holder unscrews from the center thimble. And the original set-screw is present and turns freely. The arms will be unscrewed from the center thimble for shipping and can be reassembled easily. The pendant hanger did not come with pendants, it was purchased separately from a different person. We purchased these pendants from a lightning rod installer about ten years ago. This set-up was found in Iowa. That is where the installer works and lives. He has a sister that lives in our area and he drives to Indiana two times a year to visit her. Two times a year he brings us lightning rod items he finds in Iowa and surrounding states for us to look at. This is all we know for sure about these pendants. It would be very easy to paint these with a metallic spray paint, then they would look pretty sharp mounted on a rooftop rod. Offering this finial. Do not know what it was used on. But would fit on the end of a lightning rod. Has a hole for a small nail in the fitting end. Early 1900's galvanized tin cupola
Early 1900's galvanized tin cupola. Cupola came off the Sisters convent at The Sacred Heart Church in northeast Omaha. Nebraska. Excellent craftsmanship in the quality of work done on this piece. It has surface rust but could be sand blasted and repainted or re-polished. I kind of like it with the patina. Great addition to any garden or accent piece for an older building. It was functional as an exhaust vent as there is a chamber running through the middle of piece that would have set in to a circular hole cut in the roof. It has some damage to circular band but this could be straightened out. Some of the flashing is a little bent but could also be repaired. If it is installed on a roof, the flashing would be hidden by the shingles. I have done nothing to this piece since I have owned it. 36" wide x 42" tall. Up for auction is an antique James Lightening Rod/Weather Vane that we took off an old garage that we purchased. Measurements are: Total length of arrow to vane is 37" Total height is 31" cone is 8" tall, ball is 11" around and the tail is 12"x 6 1/2" Some bare metal, some rust and some silver paint is showing.
