Rare Antique Large Copper Weathervane Goose Body Duck Bird - Never mounted
This is a bit unusual: What I have here is one-half of what would be a hollow copper weathervane goose. In full flight. Nicely detailed, the bird is 31" from bill to tailfeathers with a 32" wingspan. The upper wing is soldered to the body, the rest is all one piece. It has never been soldered to its opposite side and, while nicely aged, it's never been hung outside and is in remarkable condition. It has a cool patina but no oxidation. Two brass hangers have been attached to the back, so it can be hung on the wall- inside or outside. It's a very neat and one-of-a-kind piece. Antique Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow Ruby Red Glass Tail
This antique lightning weathervane is made of cast iron with rudy red glass tail. Please see in picture 2 there is damage to the tail. Where one of the iron decorative swirls came off at the bottom. Measures 18 1/2 inches long. There is some rusting. There is slight damage, imperfections to the glass two corners of the glass has been chipped, slightly noticeable, but not large enough to have major damage. There is also an area at the edge there is a spot where its a clear glass that has formed a slight appearance of clouding, it appears to be either manufacturing imperfection in the glass or it got hit by lighting? 2 Antique Barn Cupola's
I will be splitting these up after today if not sold. Here are 2 small Antique Hog Barn Cupola's. No bullet Holes in these. They do have some rusted through spots but not bad. One of the lighting rod globes has a hail stone hole. These are both 100% authentic. The hogs are missing from the weather vains. These measure 80" tall to the top of the lighting rod. The rods are copper. The Galvanized Cupola's show the petina that is normal for there age. These both have some handyman work that needs to be done to them. COPPER LIGHTNING ROD SET 6 18" rods with bases New
This is a set of 6- 18 inch copper lightning rods with bases and cable clamps. Cable clamp bolt is stainless steel. Base looks to be copper also. They look to be new and unused but do have some discoloration and dirt on them. They were found in an old barn that I cleaned out. along with a spool of braided copper cable) I am not cleaning them up so as to not damage them or their value. Selling rods and bases only. WEATHER VANE: Antique Dolphin. Gilded Copper. 28" x 27" Great Smile! This is a great old Weather Vane featuring a Dolphin who can open and close his mouth. I have never seen one like it. I think that maybe when he is facing into the wind. His lower jaw will drop. It is held on by a spring up inside his mouth. As he is now on his wooden stand. This Dolphin 28 inches tall and 17 inches long. The Dolphin is full bodied, gilded copper with two side fins which stick out quite a bit. The balls are copper, but I think the directionals and the supporting rod are brass. Much of the gilding is worn and one side of the Dolphin has a good deal of verdigris. The other side shows more old copper. This probably means that the Dolphin spent a long time facing in one direction. On the whole. This old Dolphin is in very good shape. All of his seams ... moreare tight, he still turns on his supporting rod and, in general, he has a very cheerful affect to him. Antique Robbins Weathervane Maryville Mo. Lightning Rod Horse Stallion Folk Art
Up For Auction! This is a rare Robbins Weathervane/ Lightning Rod with a Horse figurine. The weather vane measures approximately 25" tall. It has a figure of a horse on the top and is made of a sand like material or plaster. It is very light weight figure. But does appear to made of something other than plastic. Possibly bakelite, paper mache or sandstone. The horse has three of the feet broken off. One of them comes with the vane. It appears that someone has tried to repair it with some super glue. The exterior of the horse feels gritty like sand and it looks like it was made in a mold. The directional arrow and N. W, S& E(North, South, East& West) arms are made of a light weight aluminum. There is a plastic cylinder that is in the middle of the weather vane. It has two small hairline cracks at the bottom where the screw attach ... morethe plastic part to the main rod. There are very small and unnoticeable. The main rod has threads at the bottom to screw into something or attach it to something using a nut. The diameter of the main rod and threads is approximately 1/2" in diameter. The tail of the direction arrow has a maker's name. It was made by Robbins. Maryville Missouri This was purchased at an estate sale in North Dakota and undoubtedly came of the family's barn or shed. I have no doubt it would make a great ornament. This weathervane is fairly complete and in nice condition outside of the feet being broken. This is a great vintage piece of folk art. Here up for auction is an old weathervane mounted on an old iron stand. Leaping gazelle with copper verdigris patina in excellent overall condition. Not sure exactly how old but for sure it has some age. One small break in cross bar where rear foot of deer touches but otherwise very clean- does not effect the integrity of the piece. WEATHER VANE: Antique Yacht from Newport, Gilded & Painted Metal, 26" x 33"
WEATHER VANE: Antique Yacht from Newport. Gilded& Painted Metal. 26"Tall x 33" Wide This is a great old Weather Vane Featuring a Yacht under full sail that I acquired years ago in Newport. Rhode Island, which is probably the most important yachting center on the East coast. As it stands now on its wooden base. This Vane is 26 inches tall and 33 inches long. The Yacht, arrow and supporting rod with its scroll work are of some non-ferric metal. The ball is copper as are the Burgee Pennant and Flag. The latter seem as if they are replacements. Perhaps they were changed and painted when a particular yacht was sold and the new owners wanted the identifying Pennant and Flag of this Weather Vane to reflect those of their boat. But this is just a surmise on my part. The Yacht itself was gilded. As were the point and flamboyant fletchings ... moreof the arrow and the copper ball. The arm of the arrow and the supporting rod with its scroll work were painted black. All of these surfaces show appropriate wear. There are two partially interesting things about this yacht. There is a good bit of rigging still intact made. I believe, of copper wire. I thought of trying to straighten them out, but feared I might break them. So I left them alone. And there are two small figures aft who seem to be greeting the viewer. On the whole. This Yacht Weather Vane is in pretty good condition, has a wonderful aged patina and still turns on its supporting rod. The photos give a very good idea of this Weather Vane with its Yacht under full sail. If you should have any questions. Please don't hesitate to contact me. And thanks for looking. Antique Vintage Horse Weather Vane Folk Art Original Paint Barn Lightning Rod
Lovely piece of folk art. This vintage weather vane is painted brown, with black mane and eye and harness with rose on one side. There is a jagged hole right on the center of the rose on the harness where this was probably hit with a shot of some kind. There are no other dents or cracks. 11 inches wide by 9-1/2 inches high. I am not sure what type of metal this is made of. But it is non-magnetic. Perhaps old zinc? There are a couple of very small scuffs on the paint where the metal underneath looks like a dull gray. The metal is hollow and not too heavy. The horse weighs 6.9 oz. Two of the hooves have holes in the back where this was attached to the rest of the weathervane. Here we have a set of 3 lightning rods. These were recently salvaged from a barn that had collasped. Here's what you get 3- steel washer stands. These are 16" tall and have a odd size 3/4" rod openings. 3- 31" Aluminum twisted star rods. 2- have the bottom connectors. The other connector I couldn't find. The tip of the middle rod looks like it's been resharped some years ago? This is a guess tho, it may be made that way, can't really tell. You get all 3 for the money.

Magnificent iron standing candle holder measures 39 3/4 inches tall. From floor to tip of the prickett- pointed piece. This sculpture looks similar to some antique lightning rods.
