Antique Pre-Columbian Ceremonial Tripod Vessel PRICE REDUCED!
Antique Pre-Columbian tripod vessel with knobs and small holes on the tripod's legs and jagged. Denticulated decoration around the top of the bowl. The piece is made of taupe/grayish clay and has red and black slip decoration primarily on the outside. Some of the teeth have broken off but the piece is in remarkable condition considering its age. 7 1/2" h by 6" diameter. Bought in the 70's from a dealer in Wickenberg AZ who said he dug in NM and northern Mexico before it was illegal. He numbered this piece"1559. An unusual piece that was possibly ceremonial, or for offerings, due to its decoration and structure. A beautiful and unique piece.

Inca Treasures antique Pre Columbian pottery vessel artifact antiquity art bowl
A very unique and unusual Pre Columbian style pottery artifact with a village specific design. Different old villages in Mexico have produced design patterns unique to their villages and often the village can be identified by the pattern. This coffee bean design matches another that I purchased online from a different unrelated source and both have this design. The only two pieces like this I have seen. I researched this and it appears to be the same pattern and is old and from a village in Mexico. These patterns may endure for years. This is an antique piece and is in shape of a vessel or offering dish with a raised pedestal off a smaller rim at the bottom. The pattern of this and the other Pre Columbian style both have strong color with a coffee bean motif. I am not exactly certain of the age and my estimate is it is from the mid 1850s ... moreto early 1930s. The two dishes make a nice twosome if bought together. The other vessel is a bowl on my site. I was told this piece came from a collection of Pre-Columbian figures that was sold by a museum, although I do not know if this particular figure is from South America or not. It m easures about 12 inches long. About 8 inches in height high, and about 6 inches wide. They come from shaft burial tombs in the Colima region of Mexico. Thanks for stopping by. We have this authentic Pre Combian dog that has been repaired. Please check the photos) He measures 8 inches high and 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. When this piece was escavated it was in pieces. At that time they put the dog back together and its seems to be almost complete. We don't see anything missing just a few flakes where the piece was put back together. We didn't want to have it restored because than it would appear like new. We like to see the items just as they were discovered. We aquired this item from the late Michael Robbins. He had his gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico. This is a few other prized pieces were never for sale but when he passed away his wife sold us a few of his rarities. This piece is guaranteed to be authentic. This listing has a lot of question marks. I am guessing this figure is bronze. It is definitely a heavy metal and is not magnetic. It weighs about 5 lbs. It is 5 3/8" in height and 3" at its widest.
