2 Antique Clay figures Man & Woman, Nayarit ?. Pre Columbian Pottery Very Old
These two figures were bought at an Estate Sale from a very Important Oregon Artist who loved Mexico. These were in his private collection and appear to be artifacts from a dig done decades ago or maybe even much longer ago. They could be hundreds of years old or thousands. I am no expert so I just don't know. They loose a little dust every time they are handled so I was very careful in photographing them. Please ask questions before bidding if you are not sure. I am no expert, just know that these appear to be a red clay and as you can see from the photographs some of the areas of each figure are worn off and a dust comes off of them when handled because they are so old. I have never had anything this old so will pack very gently when shipping them to you and if you have any special shipping instructions I will do my best to comply.

PRECOLUMBIAN PRE-COLUMBIAN INCA MOCHE CHIMU AZTEC MAYAN ANCIENT PERUVIAN #2
This marvelous head was most probably placed over a second figure and worn as a"helmet" or a mask. This approach occurs on many Vera Cruz and Mayan pieces. Often associated with warriors or ball game figures. My guess is that this piece is most likely Vera Cruz. As noted, it is complete in itself and retains traces of both white and red pigment. One small apparent loss to the headband/headdress. The piece measures just over 2-1/2" in height. Shipping and handling in the US is $15; overseas will vary. As with every item I sell, authenticity is absolutely guaranteed. PLEASE NOTE: I SELL AND SHIP WORLDWIDE

Condition of the book is used with some shelving wear and a stain along the right side of the front cover. LOT 2 AUTHENTIC 23" TALL PRE COLUMBIAN POTTERY FUNERAL URNS ARGENTINA ARTIFACT
Sometimes we get really lucky here in old Charleston. SC and see very rare and special antiquities collected by families going back many generations come through our local high end estate auctions. This is the case with this amazing set of 2 terrific 23 inch tall funerary urns, circa 1000-1400 A.D. These urns measure about 15 3/4 inches across their widest points. They are most similar in my research to those found in the Archeaological Museum of Andalgala, province of Catamarca, Argentina and attributed to the Santamariana culture. They describe this as urns used primarily for the burial of babies who died in the seventh moth of pregnancy due to a lack of iodine. Others of these funeral urns contained the remains of human sacrifices performed during important natural disasters such as droughts or floods. In such occasions persons offered ... moretheir most precious belongings to their gods and these sacrifices could go to the extreme of scarifying, and eventually sacrificing. A child. In further research as I understand it. The Santamariana culture of those of the Calchaqui tribe are among those referred to as the Daiguita peoples. According to a Chilean tourism website, this ancient Amerindian people were settled over the southern part of the American continent. In the areas of Catamarca and La Rioja in Argentina and the region between the Copiapó and Choapa Rivers in Chile. They are frequently mentioned as being of the same culture as the Calchaquíes, since the two peoples shared the same cultural space. The two tribes share their agricultural base. The types of their villages and dwellings, and their industries, socio-political structure and beliefs, strongly influenced by Pan Andean substrates. They were prolific producers of ceramics, in particular they left an abundance of highly characteristic funeral urns, round-bodied and flat based, with scalloped edges and small looped handles, and decorated with cream, ochre, brown and black paint. These were used to preserve bodies, thought to belong to sacrificed

Pre-Columbian brown head 2 tail bird group spindle whorl. Guaranteed Authentic
NOTE: $3.50 COVERS ALL SHIPPING. REGARDLESS OF NUMBER OF BEADS OR DESTINATION In the 1960's a large number of caches of brown and black incised beads. Or spindle whorls, were found in digs of the Manabi culture of Ecuador. Dated 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. The greatest numbers were simply decorated with circles. Dots and lines. A far smaller number depicted creatures that flew. Ran or crawled, combinations of several of these, or fantasy figures. All were filled with a clay-like substance that accentuated the incised designs. We are offering a selection of these. The finest we've seen and selected from thousands. It is believed that the larger ones were spindle whorls. And the smaller ones strung as beads. Regardless of their original usage. Their fabulous craftsmanship would make great necklaces. This is a brown head to tail swimming bird ... moregroup bead. Showing both sides. 13.54 mm. x 11.28 mm. For descriptions. We are following information from the two books on the beads. Frederick W. Antique PRE-COLUMBIAN Central/So.American Carved GREEN &Red STONE 2-Faced FIGURE
This comes from a regular consignor. A long-time antique collector/dealer. He describes it as Pre-Colombian; I expect the experts out there can narrow it down by inspecting my detailed pix. It is an interesting piece[ one seated figure appears to be holding a basin or vessel which in turn bears another face on its front. I'm sure there is a better description/explanation than that. But. It is carved in mottled green stone with rust red veins& splotches running through it. Figure measures 4" H x 3-1/4" D x 1-5/8" W; weighs 1 lb. before packaging) Please check out! PRE-COLUMBIAN ZOOMORPHIC STAMPS w/impressions (Lot of 2)
PRE-COLUMBIAN ZOOMORPHIC STAMPS(LOT OF 2) Country: Costa Rica Period: 800- 1200 A.D. Size: 2" 5 cm) x 1-1/4" 3 cm) and 1-3/4" 4.5 cm) x 1" 2.5 cm) Description: The stamp on the left depicts a highly stylized profile of a bird head. The stamp on the right depicts a toothy zoomorph. Both have handles on reverse side for application purposes. Each stamp includes an impression. The function of pre-columbian seals has long been open to debate. Some archaeologist say they were used for body painting. Decorating ceramics, bark or textiles or sculpting sand. If used as body seals the person stamped would have been conveyed a divine authority. From scientific excavations, seals have been found as part of offerings as well as objects within housing areas. Anthony Ortegon's study, Pre-Columbian Stamp Seals" suggests that ... morethe seals were used to decorate food. His study reached this conclusion based on his examination of seals that contained faint traces of absorbed starches. Provenance: Ex. collection R. Molnar. N.J. acquired 1960's; presently private collection, N.Y.C.

Pre Columbian Pottery? (2 small bowls)
I am not an antiquities dealer. I bought these at an auction from the estate of a world traveler and antiquities collector. I do not have a COA. But I do have some experience dealing with such items and I believe they are authentic. I cross-checked with books and online resources and they seem to be from Costa Rica/Panama in the Diquis-Tarrago style Ca 1000AD based on comparisons. I know little about the owner, except they did travel throughout central American during their lifetime(based on other items in the estate) Condition is fairly good considering the age. No cracks in the bowls that I can see, just some chips around the edges.

Pre-Columbian NICARAGUA/COSTA RICA BOWL LEG HEAD 60mm/2.4" PAINTED Ppd-USA
POSTPAID IN USA! PRE-COLUMBIAN PAINTED CERAMIC HEAD FRAGMENT and BOWL LEG. 60mm or 2-3/8"h, Probably from Nicaragua or Costa Rica One Pre-Columbian Painted Ceramic Head Fragment 60mm or 2-3/8" high. With features that may be that of a monkey with black mask, red mouth and ears. This would have been one of probably 3(making it a tripod bowl) or possibly 4 legs supporting a bowl. It would rest on the chin area and the bowl would be attached on the ridge atop the head and the back of the head(that area is open now) Imagine that ridge on the head as parallel to the ground to see the level that the head would have been at. The bowl would have been 6 to 8 inches in diameter and also painted in similar colors. There is some chipping on the nose, upper lip and under the ears/headdress. Many objects that are offered as from Costa Rica actually ... morecome from Nicaragua as they are similar due to the fact that those people did not have the modern borders as we know them today. The cultures crossed those lines well before they were established. There are a lot of people who collect Costa Rica but not too many collect Nicaragua. There is little difference in cultures along the borders. This is a POSTPAID Lot in the U S A as are ALL of my Ebay Store Lots! Send an email with any questions before bidding or buying please. Pre Columbian Black Clay God Vessel ~ South American ~ RARE ~ 7" X 4 1/2"
Available for your consideration is a collection of high end and rare Pre Columbian Art. This piece is a 7" high X 4 1/2" wide Pre Columbian vessel made of black clay. There are small cracks around the neck of the vessel other than that. There is normal wear due to age. I found this in an estate sale along with other Pre Columbian pieces that are also being listed this week. I believe this to be dated before 1400 AD. The executor of the estate sale had no information on any of the pieces other than it was a very old collection. Please check out the pictures closely. this piece is RARE and BEAUTIFUL! Pictures do not do this piece justice! Please check my other items for sale. Please view all pictures of the item you are interested in BEFORE placing your bid. Estate– pre-owned– unknown origin& authenticity My uncle always told me he had a substantial Pre-Columbian pottery collection. When he passed. I found a LOT of pottery in his house and brought most of it home with me. I am listing a few pieces weekly as I unbox them. He was very interested and educated in the various cultures and was fascinated with the artifacts they left behind. He traveled to South America twice a year from the 1960s-1990s and visited many ruins and historical sites– that’s about 40 years of collecting. ... moreHe had very close friends in South America. He purchased many pieces from professional auction houses and many still have stickers on them from the auctions. If there is any paperwork with an item. I will include pictures of the paperwork– if there is not a picture of paperwork. There is no paperwork with the piece. I will be totally honest and say that I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PRE-COLUMBIAN POTTERY. THE PICTURES SHOW EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE POTTERY. Please review the pictures carefully when deciding to bid. NOTE: I will take close-up pics of anything I think is a flaw(a crack. A chip, a broken piece, etc. SHIPPING– I offer FREE shipping. I ship USPS with very few exceptions(like if I can't find a box the right shape or large enough to fit the piece) I fully insure anything that sells for over $100. I RECYCLE BOXES AND OTHER PACKING MATERIAL whenever possible to keep the shipping overhead costs down so I can continue to offer free shipping and because it is the responsible thing to do in a world already filled with so much garbage. Never thought I would have to explain why I recycle boxes. So here’s your warning– I ship in used boxes and re-use packing materials
Pre Columbian Yellow Jade pipe- Abstract image, 2 headed, rare-- DISCOUNT SALE
This is the most unusual and artistic ancient jade pipe I have ever seen. I was told it was Pre Columbian when I bought it. But I have never seen anything like it! The image is so unusual. It has a strange animal figure that has a face in two directions. see photos. The jade is good quality. Probably Guatemalan. I don't know what specific culture it came from. But it is a great old specimen. There are signs of mineralization in the holes. Special. 2 1/2" long. See photos. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2Bf7%60%3E-146a88a8a31-0x10d-
