Awesome ACOMA Pueblo pottery. I just love Acoma pottery. They're among the best potters in the First Nation tribes. And this one is unique because ... moreof the design& age of the piece. It's a polychrome pot. The clay is a biege bisque color with hand burnished black& red designs. The bottom has a lovely black thunderbird on it- super cool! This is a well made vintage pot. 3 1/4 inches wide by nearly 2" tall. A fabulous example of pueblo pottery. I estimate its value to be in the $500 range. Because of it's age& condition, it's museum quality. AND IT'S A BEAUTY. In very good condition for it's age, no cracks or chips or anything to mar it's original beauty. This was purchased in the late 1960s in New Mexico. Very collectible bowl, you just can't find these good authentic old ones anymore. While this tribe still makes these precious little seed pots, many that I see these days are thinner, poured ceramic pieces, this one is an older one that was coiled& smoothed by hand the way the tribal elders did more than 100 years ago. So to an appreciative home please. Ships with tracking. Fully insured.

Lot Of 4 Small Antique Mexican Dishes 1 is a Petatillo pot that measures about 5 or 6 inches across, depicting a rural siesta scene with a house, cactus, ... moreand a man taking a nap. There is damage to the paint in places, but it is still a wonderful little pot and a good example of the Petatillo tradition. 3 are a nested set of old terracotta bowls with handles and minimal painting or glaze. SALE Pre Columbian Mayan Olla vessel terracota pottery artifact art
Sale item. Reducing my collection. This is a nice Pre Columbian Mayan olla vessel with really interesting surface patina. Nice for the beginning collector with lower budget but with lots of interesting features. It has manganese deposits from burial. The uneven fading patterns of paint and glaze leaves traces of paint showing even with some red coloring. On the bottom it has some lines still penetrating through of the original design work and from side it appears there are columns of color left over. I like this piece mostly because of its patina and old look and still in good shape though much paint has faded. A good conversation piece and priced for the lower budget. Culture: Mayan. Mexico region. Size: 6 inches wide; 51/2 inches tall. CA: 4-900 AD. Provenance: Purchased from a private collector and was entered in an Auction with Artemis ... moreGallery.
