Awesome ACOMA Pueblo pottery. I just love Acoma pottery. They're among the best potters in the First Nation tribes. And this one is unique because ... moreof the design& age of the piece. It's a polychrome pot. The clay is a biege bisque color with hand burnished black& red designs. The bottom has a lovely black thunderbird on it- super cool! This is a well made vintage pot. 3 1/4 inches wide by nearly 2" tall. A fabulous example of pueblo pottery. I estimate its value to be in the $500 range. Because of it's age& condition, it's museum quality. AND IT'S A BEAUTY. In very good condition for it's age, no cracks or chips or anything to mar it's original beauty. This was purchased in the late 1960s in New Mexico. Very collectible bowl, you just can't find these good authentic old ones anymore. While this tribe still makes these precious little seed pots, many that I see these days are thinner, poured ceramic pieces, this one is an older one that was coiled& smoothed by hand the way the tribal elders did more than 100 years ago. So to an appreciative home please. Ships with tracking. Fully insured.
