Authentic Mayan Jade Effigy Celt, Artifact, West Mexico, ex Kema Museum, Perfect
This fantastic and captivating celt is carved from nephrite- the denser of the two stone types which are classified as jade. This celt’s creator polished the piece to a silken sheen and deeply etched an anthropomorphic/zoomorphic face into each of its two broadest sides. The two carved faces are quite distinct from each other. In terms of their expressions and their features. This celt originates from the Mayan cultural area of Western Mexico and is an authentic pre-1600 artifact whose condition is pristine. With no damage and no restoration. Pre Columbian Mayan Native American Pottery Crab Ocarina Artifact Effigy NO RES
Pre Columbian Mayan Native American Pottery Crab Ocarina Artifact Effigy I recently purchased a small collection of ancient Egyptian. Roman, and Native American artifacts. This item is a Pre-Columbian Mayan Pottery Effigy Crab Ocarina Whistle measuring 2.75" x 2.75" x 1.5" This amazingly preserved crab shows most the most beautiful original paints and design. It appears to be missing one pincher. Please see all pics. Original from Gunacaste- Nicoya Costa Rica. Circa 300-800AD. antique clay terracotta Mayan Aztec artifact figurine bust
This listing is for an old figurine from Central America region. Condition is very primitive with back of head chipped. Also I don't know if this was intended as a torso only or if that is all that remains from this figurine. This item is from my grandmother's collection of fine antiques. She would often go on buying trips to Mexico in the 1970s and that is where this figurine is from.purchased from some locals on one of those trips. That is all I know. It is apprx 2 x 2 inches. Please add $6 to ship safely in the US.
Pre Columbian style brass, artifact necklace, brooch flute player, Mayan, incan
A cute piece for the easier budget to get items of Pre Columbian style imagery. This is nay be up to 50-60 years old tops and has a man playing flute motif. The Latin and pre Columbians loved music and rhythms for ceremony and fun. It's hard to go to a South American City and not seeing men playing a variety of flutes. Many flutes were made in pottery and played quite well despite taking the forms of many animals. It is amazing how these artisans could make such non standardized pieces that carried notes. This piece about 2 inches long. Intact clasp and could even be made a pendant. A nice item for a change of pace. On the under surface is printed the phrase"art museum relic" which is likely where this came from. I don't know what culture this represents but I think I have seen it in Inca. Mayan, and Mexican cultures. Please ... moresee pics and feel free to ask questions. See my other Pre Columbian items Inca Treasures LTD
ANCIENT PRE COLUMBIAN AZTEC MAYAN STONE FIGURE POSSIBLY ASIAN ARTIFACT
This auction is for this ancient/antique stone carved figure- what I believe is Pre Columbian- but this person also collected a fair amount of Asian items. So it might be Asian. This comes from an estate that had some other similar items that I've sold the past 6 mths. This is mounted on a heavy piece of white marble- please see photos for details& condition. It has what appears to be a wooden plug of some sort in the back of it- not sure what to make of that. It measures approx 7" in height. Buyer to pay S.H&I by paypal- I now ask for payment to be made within 48 hrs after the auction ends- please. Then I can get your item shipped in a timely manner. Please check out our other auctions. Items are described as accurately as possible and sold as is. I will combine items whenever it is possible to do so. Please email with any ... morequestions before bidding- thanks. Shipping costs listed here are estimates-includes insurance- please don't pay until you are invoiced with the correct charges. Pre Columbian Mayan pottery rattle, ritual, artifact, relic art COA
Really cute rare authentic Pre Columbian Mayan pottery artifact ceremonial or ritual rattle. Stand goes with it. This Mayan piece is nicely proportioned and a cute artistic artifact. Pre Columbian cultures often used music with strings. Flutes, rattles, and rattle vessels in rituals and ceremonies and the Mayans too. I am not sure if the rattles might also be placed in tombs to scare away bad spirits. They would be shaken for sound. There are lots of Pre Columbian pottery flutes around but not many of these rattles. Some minor surface scratching on pottery with some white spots. Purchased from Artemis Gallery. Dealers in ancient and pre Columbian art, and COA available on request. Great piece for conversation and it works. I am sure not meant as baby rattle but more as later maracas for rhythmic music or to ward off spirits in ceremonies ... moreor in burials. Ht. 5 inches. Width is 1 inch. A little guy but unusual and will enhance a collection. Culture Mayan CA 500 AD Provenance Artemis Gallery dealer in antiquities and having an auction coming in March. Mayan/Aztec Artifact (ancient Alien)
Mayan/aztec figurine.Possibly pre-Columbian Looks pretty old A must have piece. Museum quality. Although im not an expert this piece looks authentic to me.Feel free to ask any questions Up for auction is AZTEC/MAYAN TERRA COTTA/CLAY ARTIFACT about 4" by 3" The Maya occupied a vast area covering southeast Mexico and the Central American countries of Guatemala. Belize, Honduras and El Salvador. Mayan culture began to develop in the Pre-Classic period, around 1000 B.C. and was at its heyday between 300 and 900 A.D. The Maya are well known for their writing, of which a great part can now be read, as well as for their advanced mathematics, astronomy and calendrical calculations. Coming upon impressive abandoned cities covered by vegetation in the middle of the jungle caused early archaeologists and explorers to wonder- who built these ... morespectacular cities only to abandon them? Ancient Mayan Pre-Columbian Jade Statue Artifact Mysterious Head
I acquired this ancient Mayan statue when I visited Costa Rica from an antique dealer. This antique dealer told me that this belonged to the ancient Pre-Columbian culture that inhabited Costa Rica some 2000 years ago. This statue is indeed one of a kind! It is made of Jade and is shaped like a human head and has a very mysterious and ancient quality to it. I have had this figure re-evaluated in the States and I have been re-assured that this is extremely ancient belonging to the Pre-Columbian inhabitants of Costa Rica.

I acquired this statue when I was visiting Costa Rica and I came across an antique dealer who brought my attention to this statue and several other Pre-Columbian Mayan artifacts. This one in particular caught my attention as it looked extremely mysterious and strange. The statue has the shape of a shark-serpent mutant. I have had this artifact re-evaluated in the States and it was confirmed that this is an extremely ancient statue belonging to the Pre-Columbian cultures that inhabited Costa Rica some 2000 years ago. 1?RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2B%3E%3B1%3F-14789ae2d6c-0x11b-
SALE Pre Columbian Mayan Olla vessel terracota pottery artifact art
Sale item. Reducing my collection. This is a nice Pre Columbian Mayan olla vessel with really interesting surface patina. Nice for the beginning collector with lower budget but with lots of interesting features. It has manganese deposits from burial. The uneven fading patterns of paint and glaze leaves traces of paint showing even with some red coloring. On the bottom it has some lines still penetrating through of the original design work and from side it appears there are columns of color left over. I like this piece mostly because of its patina and old look and still in good shape though much paint has faded. A good conversation piece and priced for the lower budget. Culture: Mayan. RH1 This is a unique pottery face. I believe it is considered terracotta and is one of several I have. It measures approx. 2 1/4" x 1 3/8" larger than most of the other ones and in good enough condition to sell separately. I can't tell if these were broke off of statues or made this way? I have seen so many of them in my research it is hard to say. I'll let you decide. It still has traces of red paint in the headband area and the facial features look pretty good. It is 100's of years old and guaranteed not a reproduction. I am not sure if it was a from a statue at one time but is in good condition. It is part of a small collection I bought approx. 5 years ago and even then was packed away for approx. 50 years. I don't have any information on the piece other than it is an early piece from the America's. I will ... moreprovide the winner with the original old box and cotton it was stored away in as it formed the impression of the face when removed and also some history and provenance about the original collector. I bought this collection by accident as I was actually called to the house to look at some Art. I noticed a few pieces on display and asked about them when I was told they had several more items packed away. So I am not knowledeable about these items other than I can guarantee they are authentic and some very ancient pieces as you will see by my other listings. I had one piece authenticated from the collection at a Museum of Natural History for a person who was interested in it and it was clearly a very early piece and he bought it(actually I sent about six pieces but kept the rest) My health declined since so I haven't done anything with the rest until now. Please don't ask what else I have or will be listing as I will list everything as my health allows. So far a few good days! Payment must be received within 3 days. eBay rules do not allow mail payment so this is very reasonable. As a buyer myself I pay all my auctions immediately or within 24 hours. The 3 day terms help us

Antique Ancient Aztec Mayan Quartz Carved Artifact Set Pottery Pendant Mexico
Ancient Pottery This auction is for a really neat set of ancient pottery pieces that were collected by a local man back in the 1950s or so when he took one of several trips to Mexico. I would imagine these were found on ancient Mayan or Aztec sights but I can’t be sure because the man has since passed away. One of them is a quartz rock carved like a face and most of it is broken off at the back. It measures about 2" tall. The other piece is some kind of lid or pendant because it has a little hole at the back. Looks like a lizard or dog or something. Measures about 1¼" tall. Both are guaranteed old and authentic so if you find out they are indeed newer you can return them. But I had them looked at by a specialist in Central American artifacts and they appear true. Nice set! I charge a 5.1% sales tax to all Wisconsin residents- ... moresorry. It's mandatory! Thanks for bidding! Shipping rules: If you happen to win more than one auction and live in the United States I will GREATLY discount shipping. Obviously. The discount will depend on the weight of each individual item and the physical characteristics of the shipment. Discount will be determined once all auctions are closed, or you can email me for the exact cost prior to the auctions closing. Return Policy: Returns are accepted on items in the event there is a discrepancy between the item description above and the actual condition of the item. I am also always willing. Please inquire before bidding if this is unclear. Payment Rules: Payment must be received within 10 days of auction close. Quality Shipping! Powered by The free listing tool. Pre Columbian Mayan Carved Stone Weapon or Tool Artifact Roatan Honduras
This piece was acquired at Coxen Hole of the Roatan Islands in Honduras from an amature archeologist/collector who found it on the island. I met him while on vacation and struck up a conversation about antiques and from there. Was invited to his humble home to view his collection which he personally found on the island over a period of about 50 years, since he was a kid playing in the jungles. I had the opportunity to purchase a small part of this collection which I will be listing here on Ebay. This auction is for what you see in the photos. It is a cut stone. Almost slightly rectangular in shape with an evenly carved out ring around the whole thing about 2 to 3mm deep. It measures about 3.25" by 2.50" and 2" thick. Not sure what it was used for, maybe some sort of rope was tied around it so it could be used as a weapon? It ... moreweighs 556.3 grams, very heavy! Mayan Harvest Idol Terracota Figurines Ancient Artifact Pre-Columbian Maize Gods
I have for sale 3 small Mayan artifacts in a nice decorative case. The label on the display case reads"Three pre-Columbian Mayan idol harvest idols- These were placed in their field to appease their gods and ensure a good harvest" The artifacts are in good condition. Considering their age-easily over 500 years old. However, due to the inherent fragile nature of the neck area on the figurines, both full-bodied figurines have a complete crack that separates the head from the body. The smaller figurine also appears to have a fracture but has stayed intact. They could easily be restored by a little bit of adhesive but I have chosen not to so as to allow the next owner the freedom to choose. Despite the cracks, these items have retained much of their original design with very little erosion. As seen in the photographs, the design contours ... morein the terracotta are in good condition and the handcrafted nature of these items are evidenced by their varying black and brown coloration. This is most likely a result of the curing process, similar to how other old world pottery was made. These artifacts are quite rare and interesting. Given their important role in the Mayan crop planting and harvest ceremonies. The Mayans used an agricultural technique called"slash-and-burn" where woodlands were cut down and burned in order to create fields to grow crops. This style of agriculture was not particularly sustainable for large populations because the soil quality would eventually degrade. The Mayans mainly grew maize and would sow crops in May and harvest them in November. To encourage a bountiful harvest. The Mayans would perform ritualistic ceremonies, including a ceremonial planting of these idols to curry favor with their gods. Historical records of the Mayan religion explains that in their mythology. Deities were involved in all aspects of life, including creating cornfields, planting and harvested corn, conducting business, and forming alliances. Pottery scenes have shown what appears to be two gods sitting

Mezcala Green Stone Head Ancient Artifact Pre-Columbian Mayan NR
Hi I have a Mezcala Guerrero green stone head for auction. This Mezcala head is quite different than most that you see. Because of the hat. Rarely do you ever see a hat on a Mezcala figure, let alone a round one like this. That's one of the reasons I acquired this many years ago from an old collection. The face is stylized in typical Mezcala style. This piece dates to their later period 200-600 AD. The Mezcala artifacts were valued by other cultures as well.
