AUTHENTIC Lot PRE COLUMBIAN JALISCO Pottery Vase Bowl Platter Mexico NO RESERVE
I purchased a large lot of pottery in a high-end auction. And these three pieces of Pre-Columbian pottery were included in it. A very old auction label on the bottom of one of the pieces identifies these as Jalisco. The vase in this lot has red painted details and is 4.5 inches tall. With an opening at the top of 3.5 inches in diameter. It is a beautiful piece but does have a chip on the top rim, which is shown in photos. There are also two very old labels on the bottom, which can be removed by the buyer if desired. The small bowl here is 4.25 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. It has beautiful firing marks. Although it too has chips, shown in photos. The large platter/bowl is 9.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. Again. Nice firing marks and overall a great looking piece. I am not a collector of this specific type of pottery. So please ... moreemail me if you have any questions I have not answered here. I am happy to reply. Happy bidding!

PRIMITIVE OLD POTTERY Pre-Columbian Jalisco, Mexico 100 B.C.- 250 A.D ARTIFACT
This rare sculptural pottery female/mother figure measures approx 10" a tad under that) and approx 6" wide- from arm to arm. She weighs approx. 429.2 g or 15.140 oz. I feel she is in fabulous ancient condition with a"worm" hole in the back. A tiny shallow one on her chin and an intentional hole in front of her ear, which I believe might have once held an earring? On the back"heel" of her right foot there appears to be restoration to the pointed"heel" but she stands well and looks like a million bucks for her age! Please view all photos and ask questions and I will answer them as forthrightly as I am able. My guess is this tribal"mother"WARRIOR" figure represents the archetype or the ancestor or the fertility goddess of the culture. She has incredible features that depict royal"aztec" ... moreindian or mayan blood lines. Full breasts at shoulder level as a symbolic message- strength, stability, NURTURING power. All in all this is an excellent. Precious and ancient piece of Ancient History whether your interest lies in Latin American, South American, The Americas or Native American History! We ship globally. Great pre Columbian seated couple in two figures. This is a wonderful pair seated together with stoic poses. Jalisco couples are rare to fid and great collectors items. I purchased them from Minerva Gallery that sells Pre a Columbian art and other lovely antiquities and they are authentic. They come from an old culture in Western Mexico. I am not sure what could have happened to the man's right shoulder. This is just a great little guy. A Jalisco Pre Columbian thinker a Pensador pottery piece. Amazing expression and cute due to his being so ugly in his own way. Large 10" Tall Pre-Columbian Jalisco Horned Shaman Figure Vessel, Ancient Mexico
A large Pre-Columbian Jalisco horned shaman hollow figure vessel from ancient West Mexico. Circa 200 B.C. 300 A.D. This example measures approximately 10" tall by about 5 1/2" wide and depicts a seated figure with a prominent horn-like protrusion from his forehead. Such horn-like depictions on figures are believed by scholars to symbolically represent the individual as a shaman. The individual has a false beard-like protrusion from his chin, and is holding an object near his mouth, perhaps a flute-like instrument, pipe or ceremonial object. The object is very heavy due to original sediment from burial remaining inside. Condition: Body is intact. Multiple repairs at the head(but the face area is mostly untouched) with fill/restoration over the break lines around the top. Sides and back of the head, as visible in the photos. Surface ... moreerosion, pigment loss, chipping, abrasions, weathering and wear overall. Heavy sediment deposits remain inside from burial, with traces of root marks and mineral deposits on the surface as evidence of age and authenticity. Provenance: Former Lynn Langdon collection. Collected personally by Langdon between the 1940's to 1960's.

Massive Jalisco Ancient Pottery Artifact Pre-Columbian Shaft Tomb NR
Hi. I have a massive Jalisco seated female figure for auction. This is an absolutely huge ancient artifact, it's 16 1/2" High! It is from western Mexico, Shaft Tomb Culture, Proto-Classic Period 200BC-300AD. This is an"Ameca" Type figure. It is a hollow buff clay figure seated with arms outstretched to sides. She is wearing a headdress with tails hanging down from her head in back. She also has a nose ring, and pellet like applications on her shoulders. She is holding an offering bowl on her left shoulder.with contents in the bowl. There are vent holes in each ear. This huge pottery artifact had a European restoration with repaired pieces and new clay. The repairs blend in and aren't noticed much because of the sheer size of it. This huge female statue could be the centerpoint of any collection. There aren't many ... moreavailable with this size. I used a full size Coke can for size reference. This great artifact will be shipped with insurance. Thanks for looking.
PRECOLUMBIAN WONDERFUL LARGE JALISCO POTTERY BOWL WITH HEADS! 30 cm.- 11.5"
Jalisco Culture(Shaft Tomb Culture) West Coast Mexico, circa 200 B.C. 300 A.D. A Fantstic and Very Large Jalisco Bowl with Faces! Measuring approximately 11 1/2" 30 cm. in width, this is impressive and wonderful! Repaired only from two large pieces, no other restorations. Old glue lines present, should clean up nicely. A Very Rare and especially large piece of PreColumbian Art. The Shaft Tomb Culture existed for just a few hundred years. In an arc of just a few hundred miles, along the West Coast of what is now Mexico(See last image, map, re: Wikipedia, which article on Shaft Tomb Culture is informative) There are localized stylistic differences in their ceramic art primarily in their figurines by which we identify them. But the contemporary view is that it was one cultural tradition, with these localized expressions in their art. Of ... moreall of the Shaft Tomb Culture peoples. Those we call the Jalisco excelled in figural representations as no other, as seen here. Fayez Barakat(see Barakat Gallery online) says. There are few cultures in the Americas or indeed elsewhere that can match the Jalisco for exuberant skill in the production of figurative ceramics. Condition: repaired from two pieces with old glue line evident. Which should clean nicely. No other repairs or restorations found. Provenance: from the well-respected Beverly Hills dealer of decades standing. I.M. Chait; their Certificate of Authenticity will accompany. Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity. Member, AACA, and others. For a comparable example see above image; from: HD Enterprises on Trocadero(see online) offered there at $3.500.00
