You are bidding on a very unique vintage/ antique brass colored lamp. This has been rewired. With a long cord. The new cord does have a roller switch on it, for easy on and off operation. The final looks to be original and the lamp sockets are marked 1909. This lamp has four claw feet and stands about 29 inches to the yop of the final.

Fabulous Antique Figural Birds Lamp Base For Slag Leaded Glass Shades Bronze Ish
Up for sale is this fabulous antique lamp base. Featuring a pair of long necked birds(I believe cranes? on either side. Wonderful detail work, the lamp has a bronze finish, I don't think it is solid bronze, but it is quite heavy and does not attract a magnet. I believe the top hardware is replaced, but both pulls are working smoothly. You will need hardware to attach a shade. There are no cracks, or breaks. You can see the mold line running through the feathers toward the bottom, and there is some finish wear, including a spot that looks like a paint drip. This a fabulous and extremely rare form, unfortunately it is not signed to identify a maker, but it was definitely done in the era of Tiffany, Handel, Pittsburgh and the other fine makers of that time. A LITTLE HISTORY: It is thought that manufacturers created slag glass by taking slag. The waste content of metal ores, from iron-smelting works and adding it to molten glass. The process created a variety of effects, such as, tortoiseshell and marbling. Slag glass is often found in purple, blue, brown, and green, with streaks and swirls of white or cream. The glass originally went by descriptive names such as, Marble Glass, or"Brown Malachite. The British company Sowerby patented its recipe for purple malachite in 1878. Lampshades were a popular application of slag glass in both England and the United States. Nearly any lamp maker from the Art Nouveau period may have used slag glass in their lampshades. ... moreSome people often refer to any type of pressed glass containing swirls or streaks as"slag glass. According to Collectors Weekly, the key to identifying true"slag glass" is to look for obvious and richly marbled glass. THE LISTED LAMP: This lamp is gorgeous. Up for auction is a wonderful Arts And Crafts Slag Glass lamp measuring approximately 24" Tall. ALL ORIGINAL-The shade has 8 panels and has an 18" diameter. Each glass panel is approximately 9" tall and 6" wide. There are no chips or cracks in glass- light scratching age appropriate. The metal base has paint chips throughout- just adds to the character of lamp. We tried to be as reasonable as possible with shipping cost. Arts Crafts Slag Glass Pottery Base Table Lamp Art
This lamp measures: 19.5" across largest part of shade. 7" across at the base and 23.5" tall. I find no mark of any kind. I believe that the base is pottery. Possibly redware. It is not metal. It has a faux hammered look with arts and crafts flowers. No damage to the base. The metalwork on the shade repeats the pattern on the base. There are no breaks in the metal or cracks in the glass panels. I would guess that it is a white metal. Original finial. There is some corrosion or oxidation around the finial. Brass lamp with gorgeous amber slag glass shade. This lovely lamp is semi-ornate. With a hexagonal(6-sided) shade comprised of a metal frame cradling beautiful amber-and-white swirled slag glass. The base has two separately-lighting bulb sockets, and when they are lit, the shade glows with a gentle, pleasing golden light(please see images) The lamp with shade measures 20" tall x 16" shade width x 7" base width, and the base and shade together weigh over 10 lbs.
