This fabulous item is an antique student lamp/ desk lamp. This is an original not a reproduction. Vintage condition. this lamp has patina. Color changes in the metal appropriate with its age, no dents. Glass globe and clear shade in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. This lamp is electric and works terrific. Long brown electric cord 85 in. long. no makers marks. The brass compartment can unscrew. It can also be a"secret compartment" to store small things. Gorgeous ribbed green glass globe. White inside. A clear glass shade fits into the lamp. Estate sale find. I haven't cleaned this lamp. I will partially disassemble it for safe shipping. Rare Apollo Duplex mid 19th Century brass. Oil student lamp with acorn shaped reservoir and burner. Small dent in acorn shaped reservoir. Bottom of reservoir reads"CLOSE THE VALVE AFTER FILLING. Adjustable cross arm with detailed griffin. The reservoir is decorated on the side with a raised torch. Double burner and finial on bottom, four sided curved base with ornate paw feet and top winged decoration, circular ring on top of feet with reticulated floral decoration. Burner nobs read"M.B. CO. Antique Victorian Duplex Brass Double Student Oil Lamp Electric Original Globes
Hi. You are bidding on the most beautiful lamp. It is a Duplex student oil lamp that was converted to electric. You can see by the cord and plug that it is one of the oldest electric lamps you will ever see. It has been tested and did work when I bought it but the cord is super old. I would get a second opinion before you use the cord. The globes are LOVELY and even more beautiful in person. They are in good condition with no nicks or cracks. The globes measure approximately ten inches across at the bottom and 4.5 inches or so on the top. The entire lamp is 27 inches when measured from base to top of chimneys. I believe the chimneys are also original in that they look like old glass and they are the exact measurements of the original chimneys. One of the chimneys has some roughness around the base where it goes into the metal but it is not ... morechipped. If you collect these antique lamps. I think you are going to love this one. There are problems, but minimal. I see that there is one lamp socket that is sort of tipped to one side. There is some difficulty getting the round base for the chimney into the larger frame for the glass globe. But I think that all of these issues are probably just a part of owning a lamp like this. ORNATE BRASS ANTIQUE OIL KEROSENE STUDENT LAMP MILLER? FOR RESTORATION
Sorry. No International Shipping. Please note that our photos are below the item description. This antique student lamp is in need of restoration. It has been electrified at some time in the past. Luckily the wire came out of the burner section and no other holes or alterations were made in the lamp. In the 5th row of photos you can see the slight separation in the ribbing at the bottom where the wire came out. Other minor problems are there is some solder at the top of the oil tank with some very minor metal fatigue at the top. There is a dent on the inside of the oil tank also shown in the 5th row of photos. Obviously the burner has also been altered. There are no other dents. Splits or damages on the lamp. The lamp is made of solid brass(except for the weight in the base) and would polish up beautifully if that was your desire. Although ... morewe cannot find any maker's mark we believe the lamp to be made by the Miller Lamp Company. It stands 21 1/2" tall, is 14 1/2" wide and weighs 8 1/2 pounds. With vintage custard glass light shades. The lamp measures approx. 18" tall. X 16" wide, the felt cover base bottom is 4-1/2" in diameter The glass shades measures approx. 5-1/2" tall x 6-3/4" in diameter. The two custards shades don't match totally. One is darker when turned on and is made of thicker glass, also it has a chip on the ruffled edges(see photos below) The brass lamp is in Very Good condition. This is a great brass signed. Bavoux" on bottom of base and on tank cap) antique oil lamp. Also marked(not sure this is accurate) Brevet Dinven Et Perfection. Sans Gar Du Gouter. J.B.X. on piece which extends out to burner. Unusual design. Stands 16 3/8" tall. Very good condition. There appears to be 2 repair as shown one where teh burner extension piece attaches to tank and the back of the tank. The back of tank repair appears to have a small hole in the repair. Finger loop at top appears to be misshapen but may just be crudely designed. Screw-on tank cap moves freely as do height adjustment lever and wick adjustment. No wick. Bankers Desk Lamp Piano Lamp Student Lamp Rare Black Glass Brass Marble Base
This listing is for a beautiful banker's style desk lamp with gorgeous black glass shade and black marble and brass base. I believe the marble on the base is real as lamp is very heavy at 4.5 lbs. But the marble on the column feels faux, but I could be wrong. I believe the brass is also real as magnets do not stick to it. Black glass shade is intact and is not broken and it has no chips or cracks. The brass base is tarnished and could use a polishing. I will leave that to the new owner. Vintage brass double student electric lamp fluted swirl shades
This is the very classic double student lamp- an electric reproduction of the original oil type- which I purchased from the original owner. The chimney and shade holders are brass plated steel. Everything else is solid brass and features 3 way sockets. The shades use a 7 inch fitter and are milk glass with fluted swirl design. I estimate this lamp to have been purchased in the late 40's early 50's. One chimney is shorter than the other. Comes without bulbs as I will leave those to your discretion. CONDITION: Functionally excellent and cosmetically shows considerable age patina to the laquered brass finish- this could be an asset. Depending on your taste. ANTIQUE VINTAGE FRENCH ORMOLU BRASS STUDENT CANDLESTICK CRYSTAL LAMP & SHADES
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique to older vintage(c1940s) double student lamp. This lovely lamp features French/Parisian styling. It is heavy brass construction with an ormolu, gold gilded finish. The lamp has acanthus leaf and vine pattern with marble base. The marble is white with gray to black veins and has finished, squared ends. A trio of OLD, leaded crystals adorn each decorative bobeche and a fourth dangles on the end of each arm. The candlestick sections are long and provide an elegant touch. The old shades are clip on style. They are silk fabric, pleated, ivory in color and have ivory brocade trim on each end. They are lined as well. This is a lovely. Old lamp with an abundance of charm and timeless style. It is in very good condition with some aging patina to the gilded finish. The shades are very good with one shade ... morehaving a separation of the lining at the top. The lamp operates with two, standard fitting, 25 watt bulbs. We have used shorter bulbs so that the shades fit correctly. The wiring is vintage with a new plug and the lamp is working perfectly. There is an on/off switch on the cord. The lamp measures 17" tall to the sockets and 20.5" tall with the shades attached. It is 11" wide to the bobeches; 12" wide with the shades attached. The base is 4" squared. American Brass KLEEMAN 1870 Student Desk Oil Lamp/Milk Glass Shade-Converted
Up for consideration is this antique C.A. Kleeman& C.F.A. Hinrichs New York kerosene brass student desk lamp. This lamp has been electrified over the years and appears to have been done in a way that could easily be converted back to original without issue. However, I am not certain. It is in overall very good/strong antique condition and I believe will restore nicely. I believe that the milk glass shade is original however I cannot verify if correct or original. The shade does have some small rim nicks here and there from use where it sits on the shade ring. I do not have the chimney that would have also been with this lamp. I see no dents in the brass. The fuel tank appears original and without issue and has the pin on the bottom. This piece does move if you push the pin up and down, not sure if this is correct or if you pull the pin ... moredown to secure? Height adjustment knob turns( a little hard) but does work and lamp slides up an down. Shade ring or arm(not sure which) appears slightly tilted so I put a level on the ring to show you. I do not want to try to adjust or bend at all, I will leave that decision to the new owner. As you can see the brass needs to be cleaned, bottom of lamp is covered in green felt. ANTIQUE BRASS MILLER DOUBLE STUDENT LAMP BRADLEY & HUBBARD
No maker tag on this. I'm not sure if the white shades are original. They fit the holders fine. The holders could use some soldering. There are some smal chips on the shades. The chimneys are newer. 19thC Fancy Brass Double Student Lamp, Cranberry Opalescent Glass Shades
This beautifully ornate antique double student oil lamp has two dual wick burners with glass chimneys. The width is approximately 19" with a height of 27" This lamp is quite heavy. Though the origin of this lamp is unknown. The knobs on the burners are stamped"Duplex- Made in England" Condition: Please note that, with most antiques, there is the expected wear to the lamp so please look closely at all pictures, as they are considered as part of my description, and feel free to ask questions. There is a small separation in the smaller decorative brass area noted in the last picture. The Cranberry Opalescent shades are quite stunning and are such a deep rich cranberry color. Again, these are very deep cranberry, not the light colored ones you see so much! I can find no chips or cracks in the shades, just very minor wear to ... morethe bottoms where they sit on the lamp. A LITTLE HISTORY: The Manhattan Brass Company began in 1865 in New York City. It is notable because it was the only brass manufactory prior to 1900 that was established without a direct connection to the brass mills of Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley. While it had no ties to the Connecticut makers. Manhattan Brass did choose to follow the pricing guidelines established by the Connecticut firms. Manhattan brass did not enter the market as a producer or roller of brass for market, rather it produced what it needed for the remanufacture of it's own products. The company was perhaps most recognized for it's production of student lamps. Their line of Perfection Student lamps consisted of a variety ... moreof sizes{utilizing seven and ten inch shades} in single and double configurations, wall mounted lamps and more. Manhattan Brass Company student lamps are readily identified by their spiral burner tube. The burner tube is actually twisted to raise or lower the wick. The Manhattan Brass Company sold it's plant and liquidated it's assets in May of 1926. ABOUT THE STUDENT LAMP: This listed example is in nice condition and all original with all components in place. It has been electrified without harm to the original operating method. The green ribbed lamp shade is a 7" quality replication made by Royal Craft. There are no cracks or chips. The lamp has been polished and coated with an anti tarnish wax. It will patina over time. The lamp can be raised or lowered on the center pole to the desired height by hand using the large brass set screw. The oil reservoir can be removed from the brass cylinder. It is marked on the bottom; CLOSE THE VALVE AFTER FILLING. This lamp measures 20 3/4" to the top of the center pole ring and 21 1/2" to the top of the chimney. It is 12" wide. An antique. Circa 1880's 1890's, brass Harvard type single bird student lamp converted to an electric lamp base. It is in working order with new cord and plug, switch on cord. For your consideration is an antique adjustable brass desk lamp. The antique lamp has a a heavy weighted base. 6 1/2" in diameter. The lamp stands 23 3/4" tall at the lowest setting and adjust to 33 1/4" at the highest. The spun brass shade is 5 1/2" in diameter and has flat black painted finish. The"PAISTE" socket accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) The wiring is new cloth covered 18 gauge wire with an old fashioned two prong plug. The lamp has had the lacquer finish removed and will get a nice warm patina over time. The lamp has some small dings and imperfections but nothing that isn't typical for its age or use. Antique Student dual Oil Lamp, brass, electrified
Antique dual lamp single reservoir electrified student oil lamp. Brass. There is a switch on the cord and each lamp has a switch. One of the switches is stuck on. The other one works fine. The globes are made of two layers of glass. A clear amber glass on the outside and a white milk glass layer on the inside. One chimney is frosted, the other is clear. The height of the lamps is adjustable with a knob on the central support. The lamp came to my family through my great uncle who collected antiques. The wire is getting stiff. It was probably electrified no later than 1965.

THE SHADE LOOKS CRANBERRY IN COLOR WHEN NOT LIT AND RED WHEN LIGHTED. THE LAMP STANDS ABOUT 19 1/4 INCHES TALL TO THE TOP OF THE RING IN THE CENTER AND 14 INCHES TALL TO THE TOP OF THE SHADE. THE SHADE MEASURES ABOUT 5 7/8 INCHES IN DIAMETER AT THE BOTTOM. THE LAMP IS IN GREAT CONDITION BUT HAS SOME SURFACE SPOTTING ON THE BASE; NEEDS TO BE CLEANED.THE LAMP WORKS FINE AND WILL LOOK GREAT ON AN OLD ANTIQUE DESK. Antique Brass "Acorn" Student Oil Lamp Double Burners
Authentic antique double burner student oil lamp. Really good condition. Not drilled. Made of brass. Both burners have wicks in them. There are about a half dozen very small eraser-head-or-smaller dents on the lamp but most are hardly noticeable. Not sure who the maker is as there are no markings that I can see. I don't know much about lamps except that my husband collected them and was always particular about condition. Authenticity, etc. Please feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. Here are some measurements: Rings: 10" diameter. Base: 7" diameter.
