Walter Hubbard, and Orson and Chitten Hatch began in Meriden, Connecticut in 1852 as Bradley, Hatch& Company. Clocks were the sole product of the newly formed company. When the Hatch brothers sold their interests in the firm two years later. Nathaniel Bradley, William Bradley and Walter Hubbard formed a company which they named simply Bradley and Hubbard. By 1856, they were producing call bells and sewing machines, but clocks continued to be the main line of production throughout the 1850's and 1860's. Many northern manufacturers prospered immensely during the Civil War due to the expanded market west of the Mississippi and increased foreign exports. Bradley and Hubbard was no exception, adding the production of flags, hoop skirts, spring measuring tapes and match safes during the war years. The discovery of oil in Pennsylvania in 1859 also had a great impact on the product line of Bradley& Hubbard with the decision to begin production of kerosene burning lamps. By 1871. Kerosene virtually replaced whale oil for heating and illumination and new ways of burning it more efficiently were needed. Between 1868 and 1875, Bradley and Hubbard secured 33 patents relating to the design and mechanics of oil burning lamps(in all, the company would eventually patent a total of 238 designs and mechanical devices) The company was again reorganized in 1875, this time as a joint stock company renamed The Bradley and Hubbard Manufacturing Company. Growing rapidly throughout the 1880's. The company added new products such as architectural grilles, railings, fences, window guards, and elevator enclosures. By the 1890's, the Bradley and Hubbard name was synonymou

The urn is festooned with garlands from which descend four gold accented plaques while the bottom has a pattern of leaves encircling it. The base has an outward curving scallop pattern and a gold accented edge design. The ... moreslag glass shade features beautifully swirling, amber, brown and white glass set in six panels by exquisite bronze and gold patina metalwork. From the upper, circular, medallion, six fluted columns descend to join the intricate edging that is punctuated by six gold accented urns. This model dates from between 1900 and 1920. The base of the lamp appears to be of iron while the rest of the metal appears to be pot metal. The lamp is in very good working condition with some minor scraping to the the finish of the shade's metalwork(most noted on one column and each of the small, upper urns at the top of the columns where the gold accenting has worn off in varying degrees) The central urn of the lamp body has some minor chipping of the finish and metal(see the close ups of the spots on the garlands) The base shows very mild, age related wear. With a little re-touching, most of these minor problems can be restored. As it is, it remains a beautiful lamp for any discerning home. Up for auction is this early all original 8-panel American slag glass lamp attributed to Miller. Circa 1910.The base is stamped"223" One of the few early pieces with one-socket upright mount, fitter ring holder. Original socket and pull-chain. It is 22" high- top to bottom of the base, with shade is at 19" wide and 7" high. Beautiful light amber/caramel color shade, with the traces of the original metal color overlay made in red. BRADLEY HUBBARD LILY PAD AND LION PAW BASE - ART NOUVEAU PAINTED SHADE
BRADLEY HUBBARD ART NOUVEAU REVERSE PAINTED TABLE LAMP This auction is for a Bradley Hubbard lamp with reverse painted paneled shade. The base clearly shows the BH logo and has open metal work at the base around the lions feet and lily pads. The top final. Probably a pineapple, seems to match the metal at the top of the 3 lite cluster and is probably original to the base. This base stands about 22" tall, not including the finial. The 3 light cluster appears to have had atleast one socket replaced in the past and the lamp has been entirely rewired and fully functioning. The metal shows signs of wear and light surface rust in a few small areas, mostly around the toes of the paws and edges of the base. The shade is a ribbed bent panel glass with reverse painting. The framework supporting the panels is quite thick and sturdy and extremely ... moreunusual in shape. I did not find the BH mark on the shade. But neither did I remove any panels. If it exists, it is probably beneath the glass up around the vent cap. I strongly suspect that this is the original shade, although I found no reference to either the signed base or the shade in any catalogs or books. This shade rises about 5" high and has an 18" Wide outer diameter. All the panels are bent and reverse painted. The shade appears to be in very good structural condition but shows significant paint loss, mostly to the 3" wide glass skirt. Fortunately, the most significant loss is regulated on adjacent panels with 1/2 showing some loss and the other 1/2 showing significant loss. So, it'looks' better against a wall then in the'round' The shade is almost'true' showing acceptable variances and none of the glass is cracked. The lamp is suitable for use as is and has great'character' It is also a candidate for restoration and there is enough of the painted art nouveau. Wm. Morris type design remaining to restore the shade to original appearance. This shade will ship double boxed and oversized as it requires special considerations

Antique Bradley & Hubbard Bronze Lamp and Smoker's Stand Art Nouveau Era
This Bronze stand has two Bradley& Hubbard Makers' Marks on the bottom of the base and on the bottom of the removable threaded ashtray. The piece has an overall height of 28 inches and is 12 inches wide at its widest part. It is made from what appears to be very heavy solid bronze with the original chocolate patina intact. Truly a collector's piece! Please note that the threading which the ashtray screws into is slightly bent and may need to be replaced which is a simple fix. I included photos of this so that you can see what I am reffering too.

This is an antique Stained/Slag Glass lamp of unknown make. It could be Tiffany. Handel, Bradley& Hubbard, ect. The bottom of the lamp has two numbers, one is"8" and the other is"577" It has a patent date on the light sockets for July 6 1909, which is for the adjustable lamp sockets. This lamp is missing one of the pull chords for one of the lights and the cord has been replaced. It stands 26" tall and the base is 6.5" in diameter. The shade is 14" square.

All original art nouveau Bradley and Hubbard kerosene lamp with the original glass shade. The lamp measures 16 inches tall without the chimney. And 22 inches with the chimney. The font is decorated with a floral scroll pattern. The lamp has applied leaves on a black base, and black wrought iron legs. The flame spreader has two patent dates on it. July 1890, and June 1896. The filler cap is marked with the logo B& H. The glass shade is decorated with large pink and orange spider mums. On a pastel light green and pink background. There are no chips. This is a really wonderful signed Bradley and Hubbard(Meridan. CT) brass desk lamp in the Arts and Crafts, or Mission, style. Piece has a pretty paneled glass shade in caramel and green-glass is all original. I have had this piece rewired for safety purposes. The brass has developed a mellow smooth appearance over time. This is a Bradley& Hubbard art nouveau desk lamp. It is unsigned but is of the typical casting quality and style of Bradley& Hubbard pieces. It is a heavy bronze cast material and has wonderful patina. The cord has been replaced at some point in time and the plug is still original. One of the slag glass panels has a crack in it but it would be easy to have another piece of slag glass cut of the same color shade and fit into the lamp as this glass is a flat panel. The decorative filigree is in perfect condition. There are no cracks anywhere and absolutely no missing pieces. This lamp is unlike another B&H nouveau desk lamp on eBay that has chunks of filigree missing and badly damaged glass with a high asking price. My lamp has a reasonable reserve. THE MILLER COMPANY EARLY 1900s BRASS DOUBLE BULB LAMP WITH ORIGINAL SHADE FRAME! Beautifully articulated small brass lamp with original shade frame that has been recovered in silk and lace. Brass finial seems to be original and if so is worth something on its own as a replacement part. Appears to be Empire style with two pull-chain bulbs that have candle cover bases. Also original. Lamp is fairly weighty for its size, nice sturdy piece. The Miller Lamp Company is comparable to Bradley, Hubbard, and Handel, started in the late ... more1800s to produce quality and innovative stylish lamps until the early 1900s. Bottom of base is marked Miller 1134, shade frame also is imprinted with the Miller name. Lamp was found at a local flea market 15 years ago covered in lavender paint and the fabric on the shade was torn beyond repair. At that time we gently flaked off most of the paint and repaired the shade with lace on the outside and silk inside, all hand sewn but not like the original and not professionally done, but looks acceptable. Some bits of the paint remain here and there mainly where it is not particularly visible, easy to remove with the help of paint remover but remains to be done, could not be scraped for fear of scratching the brass surface, which has been carefully preserved. The bulbs in place are the smallest wattage we could find to help keep the silk shade from deteriorating, but larger new energy saving bulbs can probably provide more light without heat today. Candle type bases for the bulbs are slightly worn and chipped. One flaw has come to our attention at the point of listing, which is a vertical split in the metal just above the base and it can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The lamp is

Antique art nouveau slag glass table lamp signed Bradley Hubbard. This lamp is completely original. Except for the cord has probably been replaced. Inherited from my aunt 8 years ago, it has been in the family as long as she could remember. It has a tight horizontal crack in the upper portion of one panel, hard to see but the picture shows it well. The green paint is all original and in great shape, there is very little wear, one spot high on the stem near the cluster where the paint is worn. Extremely heavy- Weighs 18 lbs. Very solid lamp. 21 1/2" tall, and 16 1/2" at the widest part of the shade. Base is 7" across.

Antique Signed Bradley & Hubbard Lamp Base For Slag Glass Art Nouveau Early 1900
Looks like the base plate and sockets are copper and the stem is brass or bronze. The only places my magnet sticks are on the cast iron weight in the bottom and the bolt at the top. One socket looks to be original(Bryant. Patented 1907) and the other looks like it must have been replaced decades ago(Eagle) both are solid copper. The Bryant pull chain doesn't move and will need the socket dismantled& repaired. The Eagle works just fine. For sale is a beautiful antique lamp that looks very Art Nouveau. The slag glass panels are all in good condition. No chips or cracks. The metal is also in good very good condition other than a couple of places that, upon closer examination, look like they were soldered which I have tried to show in the photos. The patina and design of this lamp is really lovely. It does work; both the base lights up as well as the regular lamp feature as shown in the photos. Antique Art Nouveau Lamp Base Handel Bradley Hubbard era Figural Leaded panel
Up for consideration is an interesting old art Nouveau figural lamp in the form of a piece of sprouting broccoli.The lamp measures approximately 22 inches tall by about 8 inches across. The lamp is made of spelter and iron. The bottom piece is supported by 3 legs but if the lamp was made to be viewed more on one side as there appears to be some highlights that are more detailed on one side more so than the other.There are no chips breaks or visible repairs. The piece is unsigned. The sockets are not original although the main stem and not heading up to the light assembly appear to be original. This is a great old lamp base that supported probably a scenic reverse painted shade. Nonetheless it is of Art Nouveau form and is very attractive in it's own right. Antique 1907 Bradley Hubbard Art Nouveau Brass Table Lamps Frosted Shades
These are a beautiful pair of unique lamps attributed to Bradley Hubbard. I have only seen one other pair of these lamps and they had a Bradley Hubbard label on them. The sockets have a patent date of Nov 26. 1907. The frosted shades are in great condition with the usual roughness along edges. They have a unique diamond pattern along the edges. The lamps look to be all original except the cords which appear to be updated. They do work but should be checked out. The lamps are in great structual condition but the brass finish shows wear. Antique Boudoir Table Lamp Art Nouveau Bradley Hubbard Miller Handel Era Slag
Up for auction is this nice little boudoir lamp with cloth lined shade. This lamp would have never had a slag glass shade. It was made to have a cloth lined shade. It has been nicely restored, it has nice newer gold tone paint. The cloth shade liner was also professionally redone with a patterned cloth and the lamp is rewired with a newer safe cord. The condition is pretty good for its age there is one small cosmetic crack in the shade shown in picture number 5. I believe the crack is from when the lamp was made. There is also some wear here and there on the paint. It measures 14 inches tall, shade is 5.5 inches in diameter. Overall this is a really nice little lamp and would look great in any room of your house.

Gorgeous antique Bradley& Hubbard style Arts& Crafts/Mission era reverse painted mountain scene ribbed glass lamp. This is an absolutely stunning lamp that is tested and working wonderfully. There is an ornate design decorating the shade along the top. The light bulb will not be included in the shipment. There is some paint wear to the inside of the reverse painted glass shade. There are various areas along the cast pieces of the shade that have been repaired or soughtered. There are some breaks. As well, I'm including one small piece that broke off, but didn't picture it. Please examine the pictures closely, as they show the condition better than can be described. This piece is not marked. But I've found an almost identical shade that has sold with a different base by Bradley& Hubbard for over $1,000. The whole lamp ... moremeasures 7 1/2" wide by 17" tall to the top of the finial. It has a nice arts and crafts look with chunk jewel glass. Wiring looks to have been replaced around late 1950's early'60's(based on label on cord) Both globes are 60 watt bulbs. Brass in color. WELCOME This auction is for an extremely fine. O riginal. Vintage and antique student desk or table lamp. This is an early 20 th Century student desk/table lamp made in the art nouveau style. Made of h eavy cast metal in the Art Nouveau style. This lamp comes with the original and intact filigreed artistic designed slag glass shade which swivels for optimum lighting. The shade is a heavily decorated and the metal filigree is in perfect condition with no cracks and absolutely no missing pieces. The curved glass panels are an opaque striated color and are in perfect condition with no chips. Breaks or cracks. The glass is the old bumpy variety on one side and smooth on the other. The original light socket and cord have been replaced. At some point in time. It still has the original acorn pull used turn the lamp on and off. The arm supporting ... morethe shade appears to be made of bronze or brass and has some roughness to the touch as a result of oxidation. This lamp measures 13-1/2" tall. 11" wide, and 6" deep. The shade itself is 8-5/16" long by 6"wide and 4-1/4" tall. It is in very good condition for an antique piece with some scratches and mild oxidation to the finish of the metal. There is evidence of glue on the sides of the shade where the side pieces were probably glued to the top metal piece(please refer to the photos) It is unsigned but is of the typical casting quality and style of Bradley and Hubbard. Handel, Miller and Wilkinson type student lamp pieces. The stem and base are a fine and detailed casting with good molding and showing no wear to the details. It is made of a heavy cast material and has wonderful patina. The base of the lamp measures 5-7/16" by 4-7/8" Please review all the pictures for details.
