This was found ... moreabout 40 years too late, as it has the basement effect(this is very weathered) Metal is thin in spots and is very pitted. Unfortunately none of the original finish is left. This would make a great template or could be restored or used for parts. The metal fancy pieces that hold the loops are(the fancy pieces) are salvageable. The round loops that hold the slag glass could also probably be saved. The cap is thin around the edges. The ceiling fixture and chain aren't in very good shape either. Both pieces of slag glass do have damage. 4 panels originally. Have only 2) The lamp measures about 9-1/2" across and the bottom edge measures about 8-1/2" across. UNUSUAL ANTIQUE SLAG GLASS FILIGREE HANGING ART DECO NOUVEAU LAMP LIGHT SWAG
Up for auction is an antique hanging 4 panel slag glass cast lamp with filigree. The lamp has 4 curved and tapered panels. All in excellent condition, no cracks or repairs. Each varies in color. The lamp measures 13" long X 6" across at the top. The lamp will need a simple rewiring, it is not currently working. There is some tarnish/pitting on one side of the fixture as this was probably hung outdoors on a porch. The chain that is currently attached is about 10" long. An old original caramel slag glass lamp ceiling hanging lamp or you can use it as a lamp shade by removing the inner hardware. Currently there is a socket for standard light bulbs to screw into. And housing to mount an internal bulb shade or cover, and there are the chain links and the three wires to connect to however you wish to connect it, via wire nuts, electrical tape or by adding a new cord, etc. There are two of the large curved glass that have been cracked, one of them is un-noticeable almost invisible and the other is visible but still in tact, I feel that it gives it character. It measures 11 3/4” tall– has a 16” diameter at the bottom– and has an 8” diameter at the top– at this size this may even work as a table lamp shade. The trim has a“Floral” motif and appears to be metal– I think the balance of the material surrounding or holding the glass is brass. This original antique(1900-1920) stained glass hanging lamp was once a chandelier. It has been re-wired as a hanging lamp. From our research it appears to have been made by Chicago Mosaic Shade Co. The colors of the of the flowers and leaves are NOT faded and the lamp is beautiful. It stands 16 inches tall and measures 22 1/2 inches across at the bottom. The lamp has two sockets and it works great. It is sometimes described as a slag lamp. This is a beautiful large antique Arts and Crafts original Bronze attributed to bradley and hubberd hanging lamp in wonderful condition and all correct. Unusual Antique Brass & Opalescent Slag Glass Hanging Hall Fixture Lamp
This is an interesting antique electric hanging hall fixture. It is made of hand worked brass and rippled opalescent slag glass. The brass frame is 6 sided.The brass frame is 11 1/4" across at the corners. Each brass side measures 6" wide x 4 3/4" high and each side has one panel of rippled opalescent slag glass.Underneath there is a dramatic 10 1/4" high inverted cone with 4 beaded brass vertical supports.There is a opening at the bottom of the cone measuring approx. 7/8" in diameter. From the bottom edge of the brass frame hang approx. 48- 2 piece glass prisms. The frame is suspended by 4 chains from a vertical shaft with 4 hooks for fastening. At the bottom of the shaft is the light bulb and at the top the shaft is connected by a length of brass chain to the ceiling canopy.The 4 hook assembly from which the 4 small ... morechains attach is adjustable up and down to accommodate various bulb sizes. As the lamp is hung now it measures approx. 40 1/2" from the ceiling. I do not know the maker of this lamp but I believe it dates to the 1890's- 1900. It is in very good condition. Here for your consideration is an Antique Slag Glass Hanging Lamp Shade Working 22" diameter and about 13" tall. I noticed that one of the panels is lighter color than others. the stripes of another panel are going horizontal whereas the rest are going vertical. It has cloth wiring and part of the wring is covered with electric tape. on the decorative metal welding seems to undone but it was glued in place. there are some chips on the panels from the inside. also there are residue on the panels from the inside. ANTIQUE SLAG GLASS HANGING LAMP BRONZE WITH CREAM & CARAMEL SWIRLS *MUST SEE!*
This is a bronze framed hanging lamp with panes of leaded glass that are cream and caramel swirled. The detail on the metal work is shown well in the pictures and it looks outstanding. In the pictures you can also see the small pieces of amber/orange glass that hang between each of the main panes of glass and a white globe that hangs underneath the shade to soften the light even further. The lamp is roughly 18" wide. 12" from top to bottom, and the globe is about 8" in diameter. Nice size but not going to overwhelm any living space. We did have to replace the cord because the old one was in terrible shape and didn't have a plug. While replacing the cord. We also installed a new chain so that it is ready to go right out of the box. We will package all of the original hardware along with the lamp in case you want to do some ... morerestoration work on it as well. Also, upon close inspection there are a couple of very small scratches on one of the main panes but it is not noticeable from even more than 2-3 feet away. Beyond that, there are no cracks or major issues with this lamp at all. This item is extremely fragile and extra care can and will be taken when packaging and shipping. It will come in an over-sized box so we can give plenty of room on every side which will allow us to go crazy with bubble wrap. Foam insulation, and packing paper. Due to this, the shipping cost will be fairly high. That said, once you pull this beauty out of the box and get it hanging in your home.you will know why we took the care and expense to do it this way.
