Antique Art Deco Bridge Floor Lamp Houze Sage Akro Agate Jadite Green Slag Glass
Features Houze Sage Green Slag Glass embellishments on this great old lamp. Early 1900's lamp. Perfect Condition. Shade has a pinkish interior. I can't say for sure the shade dates as old as the lamp. But it is an old shade. Has an old Fat boy socket in it; I've turned it on and off 25-30 times; works great. Should probably have no more than a 60 watt bulb, though in the old days, they regularly installed 100 waters. Designed as a task light, mainly for reading in the parlor. 56 1/2" tall. Lamp will be disassembled for shipment. Not hard to reassemble at all.

We have 6 listed this week.My Great Uncle owned a lamp shop in DC for almost 50 years. From the late 30's until the early 80's. The lamps we have listed this week came from his estate. My aunt, his daughter, recently passed away and we took these parts from her attic. Her Dad had strung these parts in order on a piece of wire and had them hanging in his shop. After he passed my aunt brought them home and hung them in her attic. About 10 years ago she gave us a strand of these parts. We found a threaded pole here on ebay and took the pieces ... moreoff of the wire, sliding them down the pole in the order they came off of the wire and we have had a beautiful slag glass floor lamp ever since. My aunt has recently passed away and these parts came from her attic.This one has what looks to me to be a green vaseline type glass incorporated into its design one of which has chips as shown but the others are fine. The cast iron base and steel parts had been stripped of their paint and or plating years ago and they got rusty so I took my wire wheel and went over them but you'll still need to brush them again before painting however most of the prep work is done. The base is really rusty on the under side but I cleaned the threads up and they look fine. There are 2 matching brass tubes. I polished a small area of one of the tubes so you can see what they'll look like once cleaned up. I do not have any sockets and of course the pole is missing too but the threads in the base look fine. I laid these parts out in a line on the floor and as far as I can tell there are enough to make about a 54" tall lamp. Rod is not included. Thank you for viewing. I researched this lamp on the Houze Glass Co. site and could not even find an example of this lamp there-there was direct reference to this lamp by the company during my research and other examples with same structure-color-and type of glass. But there was not an example of a visual presented of this lamp-only that they did make this lamp as ... moreI found during my research on other sites-so it is a Houze Glass Co. manufactured 1930s lamp as date was verified by company on the site and is guaranteed by me that this information is correct as these glass lamps were not marked with company name. I have only seen one other example of this lamp recognizing that it is extremely rare and scarce. With that said the lamp does have damage to the shade(there is a top shade and a base to this lamp-see pics) The shade has been glued where there was a crack which runs along the top and to both sides of the shade-please see pics-I believe that the repair was done rather well and has sealed the crack tightly with no'give' or loose seam-the glue that has been used is clear and can be seen on the crack/seam line(see pics) there are a few very small chips in one area along this seam/crack line, I have provided 3 or 4 pics of the top of the glass shade including one close-up of the repair and pics of sides-please view these pics as lamp is being sold'as is' and'as seen' in pics due to rarity and described issues. As one side is missing the bakelite housing, and although it does move back and forth, it is not easy to do so. The lamp measures 12 ½” high. 4 ½” square on the base, which with a rise of 1” The cord may have been replaced at one time. Although I believe the plug is the original bakelite. There are no chips.
