Vintage Antique Brass Industrial Desk Lamp Machine Age Table Student Light
For your consideration is an antique adjustable brass desk lamp. The antique lamp has a a heavy weighted base. 6 1/2" in diameter. The lamp stands 23 3/4" tall at the lowest setting and adjust to 33 1/4" at the highest. The spun brass shade is 5 1/2" in diameter and has flat black painted finish. The"PAISTE" socket accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) The wiring is new cloth covered 18 gauge wire with an old fashioned two prong plug. The lamp has had the lacquer finish removed and will get a nice warm patina over time. The lamp has some small dings and imperfections but nothing that isn't typical for its age or use. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Mid Century(1960s) lamp shade. The shade(we have 2 available if you would want a matched pair) is glass and is fluted. The interior of the shade is finished with a pearlescent coating which give the shade an off white"frosted" appearance. The front and side profile of the shade has a scrolled design in gesso with large, amber, acrylic beads attached. The shade has a large bottom fitter measurement, similar to a student lamp. The top has a small opening(recessed below the shade surface) in which a finial could attach. The shade is in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks except for the small top opening. There are some chips in this area which occurred with a metal finial being tightened. This is not visible since the area is well recessed. The inside coating is loose in a couple ... moreof areas and the glass is clear where this has occurred. This does add to the aged character of the shade. This is a very large high quality antique brass. Glass, and wood oil style electric student lamp. it is very large for this style lamp measuring 27 1/4 inches tall by 16 inches wide. It has a lovely carved and routed 6 sided wooden base which has a nice dark stain. it also has a large tapered six sided brass base on top which holds a hexagon brass shaft. it has two curved arms which hold the candelabra style sockets. they have lovely socket covers and hold yellow ribbed glass shades which have white linings. they arms are very ornate and have very detailed finishing pieces at the bottom. there is a large brass cylinder in the back which would have been for holding oil but is now decorative. the shaft in the center is finished with a large circular finial at the top. the lamp has acquired a lovely patina from age and is very heavy. in exquisite ... morecondition. Antique RESONATING Hand Painted 10" Glass LAMP SHADE GWTW Student Table Banquet
Antique Thick Resonating Butterscotch Toned Glass Lamp Shade Hand painted village scene. Front and back. Base rim diameter 9 15/16" Height 6" Top inner hole for chimney 3" No cracks or chips. Bottom rim a bit rough. Doesn't show when seated. Two very small areas on bottom rim have paint loss. These won't show when seated. I believe this is an older shade. But this is purely my opinion. Sold"as is" due to the paint flake loss. As mentioned. Rich. Butterscotch tone. It looks European, purely my opinion. Quality. Thick glass, with a pleasing resonance.
