5 Vintage Reverse Painted Shades - Violets - NO RESERVE
I purchased five of these lovely reverse-painted shades at an antiques auction. There are three clusters of hand-painted violets around each shade. The bottom rim is edged with a light blue. They measure 5 ½” from top to bottom. The diameter of the top is about 2 1/8” and the bottom measures 3” across. Four of the shades are in perfect or near perfect condition. There are“flea bites” on the tops where the shades attach to the fixtures as you would expect with a shade of this age. The fifth shade also has three tiny“flea bites” on the bottom rim. Set of 2 Vintage Frosted Satin Glass Light Shades Globes w/Hand Painted Roses
A beautiful pair of lamp globes/shades. They stand 4" tall and measure 3" across the bottom from side to side. They have roses in three locations around each glass shade which is a frosted/satin style. I believe these are old as the glass has bubbles in it and there are even minute differences in the glass shade design so don't know if they were individually made. The one with bubbles has a little larger flare at bottom and the rose painting seems a tad smaller than the other one; the design at bottom edge is also a little different with deeper ridges on one than the other. In nice shape with no cracks. Did feel a flea bite and rough edge around the raised rim above the scalloped edge, but no one will know but you. Also there is some paint wear on the roses, but minor. Vintage Art Nouveau Cast Bronze Wall Sconces with Painted Uranium Glass Shades
We recently completed a massive reno of our home that took many years to complete as we did much of the work ourselves and took our time searching for'just the right' fixtures at demolition sales. Estate sales etc. In the process, we accumulated more fixtures than we actually needed and are slowly editing our collection through Ebay. This pair of'20's era Art Nouveau styled wall sconces will need to be re-wired. Alternatively. They can be used as candle sconces only. I have not taken out the plug ends which are in the bottom of the bulb holder, but this is easily done by an electrician or handy'do it yourselfer' Measure 11.5" in height and approx. 3.5" wide. 29 x 8.5 cm) Great detail. Note the layered back-plate with arabesque scrolls etc. The curved neck of embossed brass holding the bulb and the graceful ... moreswag of brass below the bulb. The glass shades are opaque with transfer work floral details but I was suspicious of the opaque glass and sure enough, when placed under an ultra-violet light, the shades glowed bright green indicating that they are vaseline or'uranium' glass. For those unfamiliar with uranium glass, they are harmless as the radiation emited is extremely small. Uranium was used in glass frequently up until the'40's when it was needed for industrial and military use. The great thing is however is that uranium glass highly collectible so here you're not only getting great sconces the shades are collectible on their own! For even more variety. These sconces can be used with open candle style bulbs or they can be used with the painted glass globes in place, for a more traditional look. One of the glass shades is'perfect' The other has a small chip in the part which slots into the holder(i.e. unseen when in place) and a crack which can be placed against the wall when in use so it too is not visible. 2 Antique embossed glass Lamp shades hand painted White 1850 Forbestown Hotel CA
A rare pair of matching hand painted lamp shades they came from the Forbstown hotel they were rescuded from the fire. They have yellow brown eyed Susans painted on them on the embossed glass some slight paint missing and a small chip on the rim. The rim is 2 1/4" the bottom opening is 4" and one has some rough on the edge they are 5 1/ tall a great find. They could use some cleaning but I will leave that to buyer I tried to show everything in pictures. I will combine shipping. Vintage Brass Hanging Pan Chandelier with Five Hand Painted Winter Scene Shades
Beautiful brass hanging chandelier lamp that has been professionally rewired and ready to hang. I have taken close pictures of the front and back of the delicate hand painted winter scene shades. The 5 arm chandelier has scroliing designs. The measurements you seen hanging position are 20 inches in diameter and 21 inches in length. I have double looped the the lamp chain in order to take underside pictures so the lamp will hang a little longer if left with the full length of the chain. The shades have a little bit of paint loss of the brown ring at the base. The underside plate where the arms extend from has dent. I will pack and ship this lamp with much care.
