This listing is for a beautiful banker's style desk lamp with gorgeous black glass shade and black marble and brass base. I believe the marble on the base is real as lamp is very heavy at 4.5 lbs. But the marble on the column feels faux, but I could be wrong. I believe the brass is also real as magnets do not stick to it. Black glass shade is intact and is not broken and it has no chips or cracks. The brass base is tarnished and could use a polishing. I will leave that to the new owner. Pair Amazing Bankers Lawyers Student Lamps Brass Shades Neo Classical very Heavy
This is a gorgeous pair of matched bankers lamps made of the highest quality and in superior vintage condition. The lamps weigh almost 10 pounds each and measure 23" tall to the top of the finial. The shades are solid brass hand cut and hand welded with fine detail in rolled edges and rounded sides that took a real craftsman to form. The shades measure 14 wide and 8 1/4" deep at the bottom; The shades are just under 6" tall. They do bell or taper out as the top is only 6 3/4" deep. The shade could use a good cleaning as there is some loose residue on them as well as some light brown age spots. They are in quite good shape for their age. The finial balls are solid and original and one is missing the brass washer which will lock the shade in place. This should be replaced. One of the finials is firmly attached to the stem ... moreand when you loosen it the stem comes out. This is not really a problem although it might be nice to loosen the finial. The lamps work well I am not sure how much wattage it is designated to use. One of the sockets is a lighter color and may have been replaced at some time. The base has a wood platform that is 6 1/2" by 6 1/2" with a slightly beveled edge. The base has some minor color variation in it. The best antique art deco adjustable swivel type brass bankers lamp! 1920s-30's* This is a really great looking solid brass bankers desk lamp which is 14 inches high and 7 inches wide at the octagonal shape base. The main column is reeded. The brass is in excellent condition with only a few very tiny spots of discoloration. The lamp has had a new wire added. The loaf shaped cased green and white glass shade is 8 1/2 inches in length and 5 inches wide which has an extended front area. No chips or cracks. This RARE Gem is believed by the Estate to have come from an Actual Bank or Insurance Company Office in CONNECTICUT. It would date from around 1910. Given the Marble Base, and the Angled Positioning of the Lamp to the Base, it is easier to infer it was Made for a more COMMERCIALLY intended use. The Lamp MEASURES OVERALL 20 1/2" Tall. From the Bottom of the Base to the Top of the Finial Knob. It has an OVERALL Width of 13" to the Overhang of the Shade. Its Overall Depth is 12 3/4" including the overhang.
