Large Figural Silver French Art Nouveau Victorian Newel Table Lamp Jewel Shades
Offered for your consideration is a fine silvered metal newel or table lamp formed by an art nouveau lady in a dramatic pose atop a graduated black marble plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter. Due to the weight, but perhaps it's pewter. The lamp is about 40" high by 18" wide and has three attached hammered silver shades with crimson red jeweled medallions at the tops and beautiful beaded fringe around the lower rims composed of a mixture of clear and red beads. The shades are suspended from typically Jugendstil whiplash floral sprays. The piece is in remarkably good condition; I see no evidence of cracks or repairs. The beaded fringe on the shades is completely intact, with no missing strands I can see. The silver plating is still very presentable, although of course there are some signs of wear, likely the result ... moreof a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. I have not polished the lamp in the years I've owned it, as I liked the patina. The pictures make the lamp appear slightly more golden than it looks in person. That is probably because the reflective surface is picking up the color from the wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms where I took the pictures. The wiring was updated/replaced at some point and is fine, as-is. I have been using it without fear or problems. If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. Returns, however, will not be accepted, due to the high costs(and risk of damage) incurred when shipping fragile valuable items back and forth. Rare Victorian/Edwardian era pierced Silver Shades for candle lamps. All 6 are from the same local SF bay area estate. The first photo shows the 6 shades. The 4 in the front are individually stamped at the top rim: Sterling Pat'd Dec 16- 13. There is a hallmark of a block letter"H" with an arrow or some sort of a bar going through the center. The number 780D is also stamped on each shade. The maker appears to be S C& L Co. Which stands fro Shreve. Crump& Low. Together they weigh over 8 ounces on my postal scale. They are solid not flimsy. In the first photo the two shades in the back have more of an art noveau style. They are not Sterling. They are stamped EP 05 which I believe means Electro Plated 1905. Pair of 1940 LE Smith Victorian Lady Lamps with Scallop Shell Parasol Shades; each constructed of blue satin glass and measure 9.5” tall from lamp’s skirt hem to top of parasol’s silver tone finial. The Victorian lady is wearing a wide hooped gown. Holding a bouquet of flowers and sporting a scalloped shell parasol. The lady and shade each individually are one piece of molded glass. The glass shade attaches to the light bulb by springs. Featuring this all original Victorian Hanging Light Lamp Fixture. Made of Brass and Cast Iron with Brass finish. This lamp has a frosted blown glass large center globe with a raised floral design in glass. It measures 11 1/2" wide x 6" deep. Four pendent style hanging lights with reverse hand painted shades of rose colored flowers and leaves. Shades measure 5" tall x 4" diameter. Absolutely beautiful when lit up. Netherlands Art Nouveau Victorian Style Lamp Handmade Lalique Art Glass Shades
27-1/2" Mahogany Bronze Tone Table Lamp from Netherlands. This lamp is not signed but we believe the sculpture is the work of Korstiaan(known as Kees) Verkade. We discovered this in an old interior design firm that had them boxed up in an attic wrapped in Amsterdam newspaper from the 80s. We could tell the box had not been opened since the time of import. We have several of these to sell in three different sizes and several different styles. Some of them have a KV carved into the bottom side of the base. This one does have a plate on the bottom with the KV! Hand crafted lalique art glass shade made to look like a flower with curling petals. Shade has pink tint Victorian Woman Posing 12 pounds 7 ounces 6 pose-able leaves. 6-1/2" wide at the base. 7-1/4 front to back at the base and about 9-1/2" wide with leaves placed as they ... moreare show in the images. Pair of Antique Victorian Brass Table Lamps with Green Silk Shades
You are bidding on a pair of stunningly beautiful 27" Tall Antique Victorian Brass Table Lamps with Green Silk Lamp Shades. Fashioned out of brass vases(dated from the 1880s) and converted into fully-functional electric lamps over 40 years ago. These beautiful and dramatic pieces, part of a family heirloom collection, are a rare find for decorators and collectors alike. Weighing nearly 6 pounds. E ach vase(lamp base) is about 14" tall and consists of two parts which are fused together and cannot be separated. The bottom part is 8.5" tall and about 5" wide at its widest point. The top part is 5.5" tall and about 2" wide at its widest point. Each vase exhibits a very small hole at the top of the bottom part(just beneath the seam) which may have been instrumental in fitting the two halves together(please see high ... moreresolution photos below) The lamp bases have a smooth and almost polished bronze brown patina and may be stained although no brush strokes are visible. The front and back of the thickest part of each lamp base are embossed with a rosebush and a bird. The front and back of the narrow neck of each lamp base are embossed with a floral pattern. Each lamp base features two metal handles in the shape of a long-tailed bird which are nailed to the neck of the vase but can be moved slightly. T he underside of the lamp bases are covered with dark green felt and the bottom rim of one of the lamp bases has a small area which exposes some of the brass(please see high resolution photos below) The gorgeous custom-made green silk lamp shades are oblong and octagonal in shape and feature dark green and gold velvet banding at the top and at the bottom. The top cover of one of the lamp shades shows some slight discoloration(please see high resolution photos below) The lamps have been professionally packaged in two separate shipping containers to ensure that both the bases and the shades arrive in pristine condition.
