c.1960 Modernist Lavender Italian Glass Lamp with Elegantly Elongated Form
Mid Century Modern lavender glass lamp on a white marble base. Rich color and elegantly elongated form yet ultra simply modern. There are two Italian export labels on the body one covering the other with the top one identifying the base as made in Italy. The identical one beneath almost certainly was for the glass. 25" to the socket. 6" square base and a bulbous bottom that is 6" at the widest. In near mint condition with the only damage being a not very visible flea bite to the marble top edge on the right side as shown. The lamp is in good working order and has a 3 way socket. The shade is not original and not included.

The metal parts are all hold in a strict geometrical design like it is typical for the french Art deco design. We are pleased to offer this exceptional and rare Art Deco era floor lamp. This unique candelabra lamp dates to the 1920s. It is crafted in a French Modernist fashion of twisted. Wrought steel. This statuesque lamp resembles wrought iron in its patterns and lines. It features a hexagon steel base with feet of steel rings/circles. The lamp features 2 sections of 6 long, twisted and curved steel ribbons that travel up the lamp. The steel ribbons connect to a center iron pipe which acts as the lamp column. At the connection point, the 6 steel ribbons curve severely for a nice focal point of 12"steel circles" The lower section of 6 open up at the base to form the lamp's legs. The lamp features 3 candelabra arms with ornate bobeches under each socket. There is also a top center light which houses 1 large bulb and is fitted with an ... moreantique milk glass diffuser shade. There are 4 light sockets in total. This is a unique and exceptional lamp. It is quite old and. While working, we would recommend that the cloth wiring be replaced. The steel has an aged patina mixed with some bright silver color. The lamp is in excellent structural condition with no looseness and no wobbling. The lamp shows great design and character. Check out my other items! Large Modernist Art Deco Lamp. Manufactured in France in the 1940's this lamp is in good working condition showing gentle signs of age and wear. It is about 21 inches high and has a beautiful beige or pale yellow shadow(called Clichy) stepped glass shade. The base is made of two tones wood showing scratches(see close up pictures) Not that visible in reality. Could be touched up by new owner if desired. The push button works, the felt Under is missing. The body is made of chrome with chrome shade holder. Each side is intentionally a different length) The chrome lamp loop also is slightly"bent"I've seen other examples of these lamps and the loop is exactly the same. This lamp has a rare"disc" shade. The raised, off-center peak or cone of the shad gives the illusion that it's oval. Although the lamp looks very simple, much detail went into this design. The shade can turn 360 degrees(can be used as a torchiere) and can be adjusted up or down the loop. Mid century modernist lamp bronze"Asian scholar. mounted on 9 3/4" by 5 7/8" by 2" dark wood platform. Bronze appearance, is somewhat magnetic when tested. Stands 11 1/2" tall, by 9" long, approx 4 1/2" wide. Surface grime wiped away with mild detergent, patina remains intact. Lamp fixtures appear to be completely original from the platform surface to the harp; harp assembly has some patina; switch and socket have definitely been replaced. Electrics are working. The shade in thick pressed-moulded opalescent glass in a geometrical pattern combined with the design of the chromed solid brass fixture gives a wonderful modernist look to this hard to find Leleu model. The opalescent semi-crystal bowl is milky bluish when the light shines on it and shows beautiful tones of amber when light is shining through.
