I really want to keep it but I just don't have a spot for it and this table deserves to be put in a loving space. I purchased it today actually. I bought it from a sweet older couple from New York who now live in Palm Harbor, FL. The husband explained that it was his Grandmother's first then his mother had it. He said his Grandmother got it around the time she was married and he couldn't remember if it was 1897 or 1898. The condition is superior. It has been well cared for for 115 years by the same family. The oak grain is beautiful and the only flaws are: on the bottom of one of the round feet. Someone cut off a section of the very bottom so that it would fit closely next to something.however, it still is level because they cut off only a section, not the entire tip(please see the last pic) The other flaw is that there is a hair line split on the top where the wood has a miniscule separation. I had to inspect closely to find this. This table requires no restoration whatsoever. Has beautiful detail in the grain. Measurements are as follows: Oval Top is 32.75" long x 18" wide 27" tall from floor to top middle decorative shelf is 7.25" wide x 16" long with scrolling lower 2 round shelves are 10.5" in diameter. Of course it would save you money to pick up this table locally if you can because I will need to ship UPS and the box will be huge. Thank you so much for shopping with me. Chapman Pineapple Form Table Lamp, Circa Mid-1900's
This lamp was made by the Chapman Manufacturing Company during the middle half of the 20th century. It is made of heavy plaster in the form of a pineapple finial on a plinth base. The finial to the lamp is original and made of a lightweight plastic. It sits on top of a Berger swivel harp with the patent number 2270497 which was issued in 1940. In very nice condition. The lamp has a tiny shallow chip on one vertical edge of the base and a tiny flat paint chip at the bottom of the base. These could easily be touched up with a flat black paint if desired. There is also a tiny paint chip to one of the high points of the pineapple and a little loss of paint to the finial. These areas are shown in the pictures. This lamp is 32 inches to the top of the finial, 16 inches to the top of the pineapple, and 20 inches to the top of the socket. It's very close to being perfect. But under close inspection you can see an extremely shallow pinhead size nick on the flat top and a faint and shallow 1/4" refraction coming off the top at the point where the seam of the handle meets the body. It's just under the surface and has no more than 1/16" depth. It really is hard to see and I almost missed it. The lines that you can see in the photos are all lines of color that you typically get with these. This one happens to have a lot of them and only makes it a bit more interesting. This base is heavy and stamped with 304. It appears the very top of the lamp had a different metal finial added at some point in time. The bronze patina is beautiful and authentic. Rare one of a kind floor lamp. This light has creatures attacking each other. It also has hammered copper around base. The copper was split at some time and has been repaired. The copper is wrapped around a wooden housing. The creatures are brass or bronze. They where created. I was told, by a mold. Only one was made. Measures 62 inches tall. Base is heavy and bronze or brass. Base is 11 inches in diameter. the creatures, end to end are 9 inches across. The end of the creature to the light is 14 inches.
