Here is a wonderful circa 1850's tall brass 3-burner whale oil lamp with its original dark patina. It measures 25 1/2" tall x 6 1/4" wide at base. It is in all original condition with a crack in the brass to the lid of the burner(see pictures) It has one loose candle snuffer that was found inside. This one has a very nice scalloped chippendale style base which is more unusual. The stem is a bit bent. But this could be fixed. Pictures should tell the story. Antique Victorian Cut Glass Oil Lamp with shade font burner base circa 1890
Cut Glass Oil Lamp Font A very High quality oil lamp indeed. A reeded stepped copper. Brass and china base houses a particularly good triple cut faceted glass font in perfect condition. The font is fitted with a classic hinks/messengers bayonet fitting collar which houses a very good hinks no2 Duplex rise and fall burner. The lamp is finished with an original victorian acid etched reeded globular shade. The overall height of the oil lamp including the chimney is 65cm 25 1/2 inches tall. The shade is just over 18cm tall and 20cm 8 inches wide. The diameter of the font is 17cm just shy of 7 inches. Postage UK £10. Europe £30, USA and Canada £45. Up for auction is an Antique Aladdin Model 6 Oil Lamp Circa 1916. The burner appears to be complete. And is in working condition. The wick control knob moves the wick up/down, but is a little stiff. There is a lightly used wick. The oil fill cap turns on/off freely. I filled the font with water and there are no leaks. The Satin Brass finish is tarnished and shows normal wear with great character. There is no chimney. The burner is easily disassembled. Overall a nice Aladdin oil lamp for your collection. Green Queen of Hearts Sweetheart pattern Antique Finger Oil Lamp Circa 1900 Very nice circa 1900 heart pattern finger lamp. It's guaranteed early and not a reproduction. It's very close to being perfect. But under close inspection you can see an extremely shallow pinhead size nick on the flat top and a faint and shallow 1/4" refraction coming off the top at the point where the seam of the handle meets the body. It's just under the surface and has no more than 1/16" depth. It really is hard to see and I almost missed it. The lines that you can see in the photos are all lines of color that you typically get with these. This one happens to have a lot of them and only makes it a bit more interesting. It has a ton of natural base rim wear from use. Measures 3&3/4" to the top of the collar, 5&3/4" at the ... morewidest. Insurance is now included in the cost of Shipping. So check our shop to see if we have any others left. I think the pictures show the age and condition really well. It is almost complete and just missing a side lens and the burner insert. It is in the condition we found it– we don’t clean or restore items. The small spider web is free! And with wick scissors This has the feel of a Baroque lamp. But is, in all likeliness a late 19th century piece. The place of origin might well be Poland. Brass is an alloy made of copper and zinc; the proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties. And different colour tonalities. It was originally used for decoration for its bright gold-like appearance, reflecting light in the dark houses of the time. During the later part of first millennium BC the use of brass spread across a wide geographical area from Britain and Spain in the West to Iran and India in ... morethe East. Lovely. Hurricane style lamp. This was an oil lamp from early 1900's which has been converted to a regular lamp. Top is glass with a green and yellow handpainted, raised floral design and ruffled top. Has a long cord. Lamp is approx. 19" tall. I've tested it and it does work. Very pretty, dainty lamp.
