Antique Victorian Duplex Brass Double Student Oil Lamp Electric Original Globes
Hi. You are bidding on the most beautiful lamp. It is a Duplex student oil lamp that was converted to electric. You can see by the cord and plug that it is one of the oldest electric lamps you will ever see. It has been tested and did work when I bought it but the cord is super old. I would get a second opinion before you use the cord. The globes are LOVELY and even more beautiful in person. They are in good condition with no nicks or cracks. The globes measure approximately ten inches across at the bottom and 4.5 inches or so on the top. The entire lamp is 27 inches when measured from base to top of chimneys. I believe the chimneys are also original in that they look like old glass and they are the exact measurements of the original chimneys. One of the chimneys has some roughness around the base where it goes into the metal but it is not ... morechipped. If you collect these antique lamps. I think you are going to love this one. There are problems, but minimal. I see that there is one lamp socket that is sort of tipped to one side. There is some difficulty getting the round base for the chimney into the larger frame for the glass globe. But I think that all of these issues are probably just a part of owning a lamp like this. It is rare, original and super, super elegant. THank you.

I’m selling a collectable and beautifully-coloured English oil lamp from around 1890-and in full working order. It makes a wonderful centrepiece and. Like all oil lamps, it gives a beautiful soft light that adds atmosphere to any room. This is a really striking and attractive lamp in fantastic condition with a very unusual coloured font that graduates from deep turquoise to milky white. The font has no chips or cracks and is decoratively moulded in a basketwork design. The elegant upright stand is spelter. I think, with the look of bronze, and the base is shiny black ceramic. There’s no maker’s mark on the base. But the screw fitting burner with twin thumbwheels is marked‘Duplex’ English Made’ The glass chimney. Antique Floral Enamel Lamp Base Superb Quality w/ 10" spider Double Duplex
A wonderful. Antique, floral enameled, table lamp base missing the shade. 12 Photos) The lamp base, 13" high by 8" wide, has the original spider for a 10" matching shade. It is of superb quality and in the Mt. Washington manner.it has an ornate base with worn gilt plating. It was electrified years ago and has a light for the body as well as the top. The burner is a Bridgeport Duplex(double) with an American filler cap.the burner has been electrified. The base has not been drilled through the body and has the old cord with plug(both decent) This was our personal lamp and my favorite.I always cautioned my wife to put it on a safe surface.the table collapsed and destroyed the shade and I didn't have the heart to begin a search for the right top. Antique Duplex banquet Parlor Piano Brass Lamp oil Cast Iron Floor satin shade
I have lots of vintage lighting items listed and more added all the time. This is a great lamp with a beautiful satin glass shade and the shade has no chips or cracks it will have wear and some ring roughness that they all have. The outer shade does have the original brass ring at the top which the inner shade sticks up through. This like most of these has been electrified so you can safely use it today. Some people do convert these back to oil burning and you would have to replace a few pieces to do that but not that hard you can buy the burners and parts on ebay. This has normal wear you would expect but for being from the late 1800s is fantastic and has very cool claw feet on the base. The inner clear glass sahde may not be the original I really don't know it's just clear glass so who knows the outer shade is old you can easily ... moretell its age. A what I believe to be Victorian oil lamp. It stands 23" 59cm) and is in good condition for its age. I think the main body is cast. not magnetic) is without damage, and on the inside of the base raised is 1831. The glass font is good with no damage. The burner has Hinks and sons on the side and there is 1 chimney finger missing. Both wicks will rise and fall, and one of the ceramic inserts has the writing worn. And a sealing cork washer is in place. All of the chimney fingers are in place, and there is no damage, but may have the odd mark. Up for bid a really cute antique lamp it's rare but in great condition it has three sockets the burners has a double duplex says No.2 messenger the bottom of the lamp has an M305 have no idea if this would be a model number etc. The glass is very early I saw one alike sold as antique lamp in united kingdom only that one had the same glass as victorian glass but a cranberry color and it was an oil lamp this lamp was probably converted to electrical it's in great condition has no abrasions breakage etc. It measures almost 35 in to the finial and close to 28 to the socket the font is 20in around and it's quit heavy glass with circular lines around rare. The bottom base has embossed floral motif and it has a cast iron on the bottom with M502. The oil lamp retains its original glass reservoir and ornate brass hanging basket. Condition: Overall in need of some tlc. The glass funnel is missing. The mechanism is still and would benefit from belng cleaned and serviced. The glass reservoir is grubby. But has no cracking. The brass hanging basket does have some damage. Nice antique or maybe just vintage Duplex oil burning lamp. Brass construction. Made in England. No dents on font, frame, burner or anywhere. Shade depicts daisies and the small seeds you see are actually raised dots that you can feel. All glass in good shape, no chips or cracks. Wick moves up and down freely. Lamp doesn't appear to have any issues. Shipping to the lower 48 states is $21.

This lamp is approx 17.5" tall with glass chimney,7.5" across the brass base and 7.5" in diameter at the globe in the widest point. The lamp needs new wick.
