It is a complete handwritten book with fantastic Calligraphy. The first two Suras are illuminated with fantastic ornaments and contain pure gold. The Suras headings are illuminated with gold and the dots between verses as well. Many pages are also illuminated on the sides with beautiful multi-shaped medals and ornaments. All are hand-painted with different colors. The first leaf is thorn and a small piece is missing. But not affecting the text. The manuscript is unbound and a new leather cover with ornament was made by a previous owner. It is undated but looks like 250 years old. But I am not sure. The text is clear and the leaves are well preserved. No damage on the borders and the spine is tight. It is a complete book and formed of 300 leaves 600 pages. It measures 16.0 cm x 11.0 cm x 3.0 cm. The leather cover title of manuscript is“GEOGRAPHY, which was taken(recyled) from another book and used to cover this manuscript. This manuscript is about Islam, How to Pray in the Best Way, originally written for an Imam(a religious leader) named Barkawi(1505-1564) This manuscript is rewritten for another Imam, qouting from the original text references(as indicated by the red lines obove the text in the manuscript) probably written in the late 17 to early 18th Centuries. There text is written in Ottoman Turkish. The manuscript may be two books bound in one volume. It is well known in Turkey and Pakistan, in the Hanafi school, one of the four Maddhhab of jurisprudence(schools of law) or fiqh within Sunni Islam. to various ... morecultures in the Ottoman Empire. The manuscript does not have a date, but based on the qualities of the paper it is from the 18th century. The calligraphy is handwritten written in Arabic scripts, utilizing the old Ottoman Turkish language. There are 246 pages, each consisting of 15 lines of calligraphy per page, with commentaries on the margins. Size of each page: ~ 5.5" x 8" 14 x 20.3 cm) The calligraphy is executed in black ink, with red headings, punctuation marks and lines. The manuscript appears to have been recently(and rather poorly) rebound, recycling a leather binding from another book.
