Up for consideration is a very interesting map from the1832 edition of the Biblical and Theological Dictionary by Richard Watson. Title of the map is"The World as peopled by the descendants of Noah showing the countries peopled by Shem. Ham and Japhet and their posterity" This would be a wonderful piece to collect for its historic value to Jewish history. There is some light foxing going on(easily repaired by a conservator) but the overall quality is great. Could be kept as is or framed. If you would like more info please send me a message.

Antique Iron and Oak Dictionary/ Bible Stand (1895)
We are offering an antique Bible/Dictionary Stand. It is vintage oak and iron. Bottom of the iron is stamped with a patent date of 1895. It is in a nice condition and is all original-the oak has the original finish and the iron has the original black paint. The stand is on rollers and it is sturdy. We have used it to hold two Bibles-one on each side. You can also use it to cradle an open Bible. We purchased this years ago from the estate of a woman who had lived in the old section of Portsmouth.VA and I am assuming it was most likely in that family for years. The stand will be shipped via UPS. Disassembled into three pieces-the base, the top assembly and the center rod. We will furnish photos and instructions on how to put it back together. It's in great condition with no damage or problems of any type. The book holder is made of solid oak. The base and upper mechanism is cast iron and the rod is steel tubing. The wooden wheels are all in tact and roll nice and smooth. Everything is original except one of the thumb screws on the angle adjustment has been replaced. Surrey, 1830s, Antique Map From Lewis’ Topographical Dictionary
Attractive map of the county published in Lewis’ A Topographical Dictionary of England. Drawn by Creighton and engraved by Starling. Map measures approx 23cm x 17.5cm(on a sheet approx 31xcm x 25cm) no centrefold. Modern hand colouring(see scan below) Strong impression. And printed area is clean and fresh(imprints below bottom border quite faded though) There is some light brown spotting, mainly marginal but a few actually on the map eg the B in Banstead Downs! Sheet has been trimmed on all sides, but still good margins and the engraving platemark remains visible the whole way round. Some edge damage including a short tear in the left margin. Verso is blank and clean. The map will be posted flat supported by some light hardboard. First class postage in the UK is £1.20 plus 90p for packaging.

As you can tell by the copyright dates. The cover is a burnt red color and is bordered in a thin black line. The front cover is actually in great shape. The back cover has some water stains. These stains follow through to the back couple pages- you can see it in the pictures) The cover itself is a paper type material. The inside cover has a water and/or oil stain about 2" across. Also the back 3/4 pages on the bottom have slight dogears. Which seem to be recent and can probably be flattened out. Antique Industrial Iron and Mahogany Dictionary Bible Book Stand 1900s
19th century book stand by L.W. NOYES. CHICAGO embossed in the cast iron book rack of this stand. see pic) Adjustable angles. Measures 42in tall x 19in wide. A retrofitted spring has been implemented on the left leaf to hold the rack open. It does not spring shut however but manually folds closed. Works fine to hold books in place and is fully functional for large map books and dictionaries. Light scuffs in the mahogny of the panel leafs but these can be waxed/polished away. This stand does not come apart so it is all one piece as a piece of furniture. Local pick up only but will consider fedex drop off shipping where they pack it and you pay the Fedex/Kinkos attendant by credit card on the phone. I have done this before framed posters. Antique 1793 Brass Iron John Carter's Literary Machine Reading Stand Dictionary
For your consideration is a wonderful antique Brass and Cast Iron Reading Stand or Book Stand. This wonderful piece was made by John Carter and patented as the"Literary Machine" Carter developed these stands to hold books from the 1780's to the early 1800's. This one is from the early 1790's. Later models had a seat added. Adjustable to many heights and angles as you can see from the many angles and tightening areas. This model has the page holder to keep the book open at the top. And page turners at the bottom and sides. Cast iron base which is very heavy and has claw feet. I believe the wood is a mahogany but not really sure. This is really a state of the art of the time. This style would have been used for reading speeches or literature. Was used later by the owner for singing opera. Some of the moving pieces are ... morehard to turn, a little tender loving care would help this piece back to original condition. This piece would really make a statement to anyone seeing it. This is the 9th Edition and it has 1816 pages not counting an 8 page advertising section in the back of the book. It has 138 illustrations in black and white. The book is in poor condition and shows its age. There is wear on the edges of the pages as I tried to show in one of the pictures, but none of it enters any of the printing. The edges of the hard covers also show wear and the pages have yellowing, staining and foxing as to be expected. The pages are still tight to the spine. ANTIQUE MINIATURE LOCKET WITH DICTIONARY Up for sale is an Antique Miniature book locket& Dictionary. It reads inside that it is the smallest dictionary in the world by David Bryce and Son. It is a real dictionary with tiny pages. Owner's address is written inside the book's front page. The binding of the book is split. But all pages are intact. The locket measures 1" x 1 1/4" x 1/2" Both the locket and book are from the late 1800s. The locket is tarnished and needs polishing-not sure if it is silver or silverplate. It is not marked with metal content. In The photo it looks like the book cover has spots, but it does not-the spots are from light shining on the round glass insert in the locket. A Dictionary of Medical Science" book shown photos 1, 2, 3 and 4, published 1851 in Philadelphia by Blanchard Lea, all 927 pages are there, but lots of wear, torn binding, detached hard covers, foxing and staining throughout, but MOST IMPORTANT, signed by Robley Dunglison.REAL SIGNATURE, not printed! 2nd book shown photos 1. 5, 6 is also a medical dictionary published ... more1832 in New York by J.
