ORIGINATING IN NORTHERN FRANCE, CIRCA 1460 This is a rare GOLD adorned manuscript leaf on vellum from a Book of Hours with 2 two line gold heightened initials. Surrounded on one side with beautiful& colorful floral design with gold enhancement and line fillers, written most likely in a Northern France scriptorium around 1460. Th e page is made of period animal skin vellum in AMAZING condition with little to no wear, in stunning shape with only slight wear at the margin. Main text in black with touches of Red. 6.25 INCHES TALL BY 4.5 INCHES WIDE. Text in French and Latin. On both sides, but floral enhancement and initials found o n only one side. 15 lines to the text on each side. If you look closely.
