The covers are wooden boards covered with decorated leather- brown on the outside red to the inner covers. An added attraction is the early cloth inside the boards. I don't presume to be knowledgeable on early religion but to me this is truly beautiful. And I'm sure, rare. The book constitutes a total of 280 hand written pages- 140 leaves. And all Vellum. The pages are generally very good with later annotations from previous owners- also some pages have been repaired with stitching where a page may have been torn. It is beautifully printed with red headings(on both sides of the sheet) and with a very intricate blue design around the text block(on both sides of the sheet) This leaf is not nearly as old as the 2nd leaf. And I would guess that the age is late 19th century. The size is about 6 1/2 in. x 10 in. The 2nd leaf ca me from a very old Old Church Slavonic printed Book of Psalms. Dated to either the late 17th cent ury or early 18th century. The size is about 6 in. x 7 1/4 in. O n these two printed leaves. There are many instances of the NOMINA SACRA or"Sacred Names.
