This is an original 19th-century watercolor painting on an early ledger page. The painting depicts a bird and was likely created by a schoolgirl. It is ... moreunsigned and features a naive, primitive style. This bird was painted on an early 19th Century document and was created in the US Northeast region, probably Pennsylvania. ANTIQUE VINTAGE UNDERWOOD STANDARD TYPEWRITER MODEL NO. 3 - LEDGER PLATEN
Here is an Antique Underwood Standard Typewriter. It has no model number that I can find but my research tells me it’s a Model No. 3. This is a harder-to-find Model than most Underwoods. This carriage is designed for accounting and bookkeeping and made to accommodate a ledger size sheet of paper with a 14.5-inch rubber roll. Its outside dimensions are approximately 17 inches long(not including outside platen knobs) and 12 inches from front to back and 9 inches tall. This typewriter is in very good condition. It is very clean for its age and has been well taken care of. The paint is all original and in good condition with all the original stenciling intact. The keys are all in good condition and all work fine. It types 12 characters=1 inch. The only issue I could find is the space bar will only start working if you center the page in the platen. ... moreI believe the front top bar has a slight bend and has caused the space bar be slightly off-balance. But since the platen is large there is plenty of room to place the paper towards the center of the roller so the space bar will function properly. The ribbon in strong The finish is original and in very good condition. All the lettering and numbering is present. In small lettering on the front rule it is marked“COPYRIGHT 1895 to 1923. Marked on the back“PRODUCT OF UNDERWOOD CORPORATION PROTECTED BY UNITED STATED AND FOREIGN PATENTS MADE IN U.S.A. The serial number is 14-6225586. Comes with a plastic cover. Antique 1774 Ledger/1797 Cash Receipt Front/Back & Separate 1775 Cash Receipt
This is an antique account ledger for the years 1774 and 1775 on the front side and a final payment on the back side. The ledger is from Alston Young Co. to Benjamin Morgan from Granville County. North Carolina(a plantation owner) and consists of his purchases from February 10 to December 17, 1774, two years before the Declaration of Independence. Most of the purchases were for fabrics, buttons and threads but in December he also bought a pen knife and saddle straps. You will note that all of the purchases are in shillings, pounds and pence and his total owed at the end of the year was 12 pounds, 10 shillings and 4-3/4 pence. He made a payment on June 10, 1775 of 6 pounds and Alston Young caught an error in Morgan's favor of 1 shilling 8 pence the same day. Alston Young worded the error"by profit& loss for an error in your acct. ... moreAfter the payment and credit, he owed 6 pounds 8 shillings and 8-3/4 pence. On the back side is his payment in full which was not paid until January 25, 1997, over 21 years from his only payment(ole' Ben must have negotiated some great terms with these guys) He also must have negotiated a good settlement because with the interest included, he owed 12 pounds 9 shillings and 4 pence but he paid for it in Virginia currency which may have been more valuable. Wording for the final payment"Received Jan. 25th, 1797 of Mr. Benjamin Morgan Nine Pounds Seven Shillings Virginia Currency for Twelve Pounds Nine Shillings& four pence(proe? as above in full of his acct. with Alston Young Co. It was signed by George Alston and witnessed by John Hamilton. ANTIQUE FDNY LEDGER Handwritten Book/Vintage Firefighting/NYC Fire Dept. 1900
FANTASTIC. ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY NEW YORK CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT LEDGER. This amazing volume was compiled by Engine Company 42 which at the time operated from Fulton Avenue in the Bronx section of New York City. Where it was organized in 1874. Entries run from March 7th through July 26th, 1900, and cover day-to-day activities of the firehouse in fascinating detail. Massive folio contains some 500 numbered pages. The vast majority of which are chock full of handwritten entries including fire calls and alarms, roll calls, company drills, meal breaks, caring and exercising of the horses, trips to the blacksmith shop, equipment maintenance, supply purchases and expenditures, etc. This is one of those vintage gems which should be seen to be fully appreciated. A truly remarkable time capsule from a bygone era of NYC firefighting, compiled over 100 ... moreyears ago. The New York City Fire Department traces its origins back to 1648 when the first fire ordinance was adopted in what then was the Dutch settlement of New Amsterdam. Hooks. Ladders and buckets were financed through the collection of fines for dirty chimneys and a fire watch was established consisting of eight wardens which were drawn from the male population. An organization known as the"prowlers" but given the nickname"the rattle watch" patrolled the streets with buckets, ladders and hooks from nine in the evening until dawn looking for fires. Leather shoe buckets, 250 in all, were manufactured by local Dutch shoemakers in 1658, and these"bucket brigades" are regarded as the beginning of the New York Fire Department. In 1664 New Amsterdam became a British settlement and was renamed New York. The first New York fire brigade entered service in 1731 equipped with two hand-drawn pumpers which had been transported from London. England. These two pumpers formed Engine Company 1 and Engine Company 2. These were the first fire engines to be used in the American colonies, and all able-bodied citizens were required to respond to a fire alarm and to

antique "General and Accounts Payable Ledger", 1940s
DESCRIPTION This antique ledger is from the 1940s. It has only two(2) entries as far as I know; both under the letter"N" As one can see in Picture# 1 there are a couple of small stains on the front cover. Picture# 4 shows the damage to the one corner. The internal pages are from the 1940s and probably should be replaced. The one entry is dated 1942 so I know that this ledger is at least that old. The covers are quite thick and the corners and one side is leather bound. The mechanism of holding the pages in this ledger is unlike anything that I have seen before. 1924-1956 School Ledger Eden Fond du Lac Wi Wisconsin Antique Vintage
This is a great find! This ledger begins with what appears to be the first year the school was in operation. Beginning in 1924-25. The ledger accounts monies coming in and out. It looks like Emma Braun was the first school marm. The school was heated with both wood and coal in the beginning. It is amazing to follow the growth of the school and transition over time, when they make improvements to the land, adding a fence, getting their first music outfit in 1929, playground equiptment in 1931, insurance and taxes over time, hiring additional staff, who is splitting wood and delivering coal, and on and on. Some interesting entries are when they started to get the Milwaukee Journal in 1936, electricity must have been installed around 1935, they bought a radio in 1939, the victory tax starting in 1942, enrolling in Wisconsin School of the Air, ... moreand something called Cancer Control. The ledger is complete for every year between 1924 and when it ends in 1956. I would assume the school was closed at that point since there are empty pages after that year's entry. The other thing that makes this ledger stand out from others I have seen is that it lists the names of people who provided services or supplies. These family names include: Braun, Trindt, Siefoff, Yager or Yeager, O'Brien, Karstin, Flynn, Drehmel, Grahl, Benhaus, Briggs, Grahl, Whealon, Webb, Vau or Van, Dahlman& Cooper Supply, Smith, Duenisch, Trantlage, Hahn, Shea, Schlaefer Construction Co. Brown, Huck, Martin, Cahill, Arndt, Brenner Tin Shop, Regner, Fred Medart Mfg. Co. Perron, Cosgrove, Neis, Tripp, Vandervort, Baumhardt, Robson, Kramer, Rozel, McEnroe, Westemeir, Gelling, Roel, Born, Roll, Flood, Iding, Fenelong or Fendon, Landerman, Slabosheski, Stack, Braatz, Puddy, Meeth, Hendricks, Schlenter, Seffern, Schneider, Maloney, Forssman, Hill or Hills, Jurgensmier or Jurgensmire, Frances, Burke, Foy, Morten, Kellett, Koshmich, Sable, Baumhardt, Guellings, Murphy, Gudex or Gudek, etc. The school is only refered to as School Dist. Antique Wood Egg Crate w/ Original Farm Ledger! What a Find!
It’s one thing to purchase an original antique! But. When you know the story behind the antique and who actually owned it. Well, that is a very different and unique addition to any collection! The farm where this egg crate was used was in Burlington. Wisconsin. The farm was owned by my mother’s Uncle. David Gowdy. My great Uncle Dave, as we called him when we were children, was a home builder in Chicago Illinois. I guess you would have called him a gentleman farmer. As you can see by some of the pictures of his hand written ledger he was quite the book keeper. The ledger is very interesting to read. Some of the pictures are for actual egg sales along with many other items that were purchased for the farm. As for the egg crate. It is a Primitive Wood Egg Crate w/ Original Cardboard Egg Cartons. It has never been refinished! It measures 12/1/2” ... morex 12/1/2” x 8” high. Nice wood handle and is in great shape for its age. Only thing I can see wrong with this piece is a bottom piece of wood is split off. It still displays very well and would make a very unique addition to any collection! Email me with any questions you may have. Please view all pictures carefully and good luck bidding!

Unused Antique Ledger Book "Letters" - Davis & Furber Machine Co - Mass.
This auction is for an unused. Antique Ledger book. This book was saved by my family and passed along to me. I believe it was made for the Davis Furber Machine Company in North Andover Mass. Their initials(D. F. M. Co) are printed on the spine. This company manufactured textiles. Inside there is a label from the L. E. Muran Co. Stationers in Boston. I don't know the vintage of this book- perhaps early 1900's( I am not a collector. But I think the spine and corners are leather. Inside the book there is a lined page for each letter of the alphabet, followed by 501 pages(hand-stamped) made of VERY thin tissue paper. For fear of ripping these pages, I did not confirm that they are all there. The book measures approx 12" x 10" x 1" Please consider photos as the remaining description. There are a few blemishes/cracks in the ... moreleather which I've tried to show. This is a vintage item and I'm selling it'as is' As I do not accept returns. Please ask questions before you bid or let me know if you need more photos. Paypal only. Confirmed addresses only. I do not end auctions early. Payment expected within 3 days of auction end. I ship to Lower 48 States, US only. $2.00 insurance/handling fee will be part of your total shipping cost. Thanks for looking!

Antique 1894-1911 Pennsylvania Lumber/Coal Company Ledger Payroll Rents More
Antique 1894-1911 Lumber/Coal Company Accounts Receivable/Payable Ledger This antique ledger is that of a business that seems to have sold lumber and coal located in Darby. Pennsylvania. For the most part, the ledger contains the accounts receivable/payable records of the time period beginning 1900 through 1911 with a record of rent income received in the back of the book beginning in 1894. Most of the entries are done in beautiful calligraphy of this time period. The records show freight shipments/goods received. The cost of different wood/timber including items such as Hemlock, Mining Planks and more. Also documented are business expenses and the payment made to various companies for services rendered. It also contains payroll information for employees. Hours worked, amount paid, less expenses noted, such as“store” or“rent” ~ They must ... morehave had some type of living quarters/rooms at or near the work location as well as some type of store ~ all so interesting! Further in the back of the book. There is a section for the rent account with records as early as 1894. The book measures 9” wide and is 14” in height. The first few pages contains a section broken down alphabetically and the remainder of the book are ledger pages. All of which have writing. I see no blank pages. The cover is in extremely poor condition ~ it was at one time taped on the interior. The leather, suede is in a state of deterioration. The pages of course are browning with age and there are some tears but for the most part, the interior is in very good vintage condition. Don’t hesitate to send an email if I have missed anything. If you have further questions or need additional photos ~ I am happy to help ~ IMPORTANT INFORMATION: I am using the Ebay shipping calculator however. I will ship using the least expensive method and always provide a refund for any overpayment. I am not trying to make money on shipping, nor do I want to loose money, therefore, shipping estimate can be less once packaged. Thanks Much ~ Judi
