The metal has some discoloring and paint in a few places. I did not clean it. The black painted wood is worn to bare wood in the center. Size: 5 1/2 inches wide. ANTIQUE PAPER & EMBROIDERED SILK LARGE SEWING BOX JAPANESQUE c.1910 CRANE EGRET
A very unusual large antique paper and silk round box. With screen printed and embroidered egret and landscape scene medallion on the lid, and beautiful damask silk lined interior. The paper edge of the lid is stencilled. The box has wear throughout commensurate with age including stains and discoloration, superficial tears to the paper on the lid rim, and the silk decoupaging once on the paper rim of the lid is now almost gone. There are some fine tears to the silk on the lid, and fraying to the embroidery. Fabric trim scalloping around the silk medallion on the lid needs reaffixed. Fine antique violin in case. Full size 4/4 measuring 23 1/4" long and a 14 3/16" back. Two piece front and back. Vivid wide flame grain on back. Real perfling inlay to edge. Well carved scroll. Real ebony parts. Slight crack developing in the seam where neck joins back. Base ebony nut is also loose. Very simple glue and clamp repairs. Bridge is in case and some used strings. Could be set up to play as is. Old fake paper label for Januarius Gagliano 1792. Age of violin is around 100 years and likely made in Germany.

Antique handpainted ~Pansy~ Charger Hanging Plate. I'm not quite sure what this pretty plate is made if-it is very light weight which makes me think it's made of paper mache. It is 12" in diameter with a label on the back which says"Patented August 31. 1880" This was filthy when I got it-I lightly wiped it off but it will need a better cleaning; a few minor nicks and dings on the very outer edge and a few tiny white dots on the Pansy floral part. Here is a really lovely. Antique- a Victorian molded paper picture frame. The front is in very good condition, especially considering its age and that it is paper. On the back, the backing is torn off one corner, and there is a tear around one of the punched holes. I've enlarged the photos of the damage. It is not visible from the front of the frame. The perimeter of the frame is 7 inches wide and 9 and 3/8 inches tall. The oval opening for a photo or picture is 4 and 3/4 inches by 3 and 3/4 inches. Thank you for looking!

Antique Japanese paper stencil patterns Katagami Ivy Family Crest & Tsuru Crane
Vintage Japanese Katagami with Family crest of Tsuta Ivy This is about 100years old Japanese Kakishibu Washi paper stencils for dyeing Japanese Kimono or fabrics. Multiple layers of thin paper are bounded with a glue extracted from persimmon which makes a strong flexible brown colored paper. The paper is cut by combination of knives and punches. This katagami is designed with Family Crest of Japanese Tsuta Ivy over the pattern of Tsuru Crane and Japanese Kanji 寶 Treasure. I think this is used for Furoshiki Japanese wrapping cloth or backside of Happi coat. This large Family crest pattern need two sheets of stencil for dyeing. size of each sheet 12 1/4 x 15 3/4 inch This Katagami is extremely intricate work. Authentic Old Japanese Art.
