ANTIQUE HAMBURG 800 SILVER ROSE & LEAF MOTIF SILVERWARE DEMITASSE SPOONS 2 Pc
Offered in this auction is a LOT OF 2 ANTIQUE HAMBURG GERMAN 800 SILVER ROSE& LEAF MOTIF SILVERWARE DEMITASSE SPOONS. These demitasse spoons feature a lovely rose and leaf design at the top of the open work handle. The back is stamped 800 with a"R" in a circle. On the front of the spoon has the word HAMBURG underneath an interesting design in a rectangle. These pieces are used. They have the usual light scratches from use and tarnish from age. They measure about 3 7/8" long and have a combined weight approximately 18 Grams. Please take a CAREFUL look at the photos and ask any questions necessary. The images are actual photo of the frame and painting. The painting is approximately 6 inches in length and 4 inches in height. The frame is 10 inches by 8 inches. The painting is oil on brass. There are spots where the paint has been lost and there is no signature I can find. I found on the frame three places where a piece of the leaf corners has been broken off. The frame is very dusty ans needs to be cleaned. As to the age I am not sure, My feeling is late 19 th century winter New England landscape but I could be very wrong. The table has leaves that pull out from each end to extend and slide back underneath when not in use. This is a solid heavy table that stands on turned legs with a very pretty cross stretcher. The table measures 72" long x 34" wide with both leaves extended and 50" long x 34" wide without the leaves. I am not sure of the age and the maker. But I know it was made in the United States using"Old Town Maple" and is at least 60+ years old. The table has scratches from use which add to its overall charm. There is some very lite plating wear to the top of the basket and handle a little gold color shows through as clearly shown in photos.
