Vtg Antique Circa 1900 Quilt Reversible Basket Quilt Pennsylvania 2 sided Beautiful Antique Quilt from Pennsylvania. Quite unusual in that it's reversible and has a finished quilt top on both sides. The main theme is on one side is a basket quilt done in Lancaster blues and reds. The reverse is a very colorful 4 patch design with early fabrics. There seems to be no wear. I don't think this was used, it looks to never have been washed. Crisp vivid fabrics. Medium cotton batting with a simple quilting stitches done on diagonal. The binding is front to back(front being the basket side) This may have been two antique quilt tops put together later, can't say for certain but it's in excellent condition. All hand stitched. Initial"J" in one corner on the basket side. No holes. No tears, there is one small seam separation ... moreon the back 9 patch side, but it's very clean and you must look for it, no stains. Original extra large foldout page measures 22" X 13-1/2" Most of the maps in this book do not show copyright dates. Lockhart and the President of the bank is Harry R. Hyde. The bank chartered in 1895. This bank issued 47.880 small size Nationals, from 1929 thru July of 1935 when the note issuing period ended. Ridgway was a two bank town. And this bank was the tougher of the two banks in Ridgway that issued National Currency. The note has four nice even margins and is well centered on both sides. The note has really nice paper body. And is clean and bright on both sides of the note. This note has no rips or margin ... moretears. And I do not see any pinholes in this note. I grade this note as a Very Fine or a little nicer. But you look at the scans and judge for yourself. The Kelly Census shows 18 small size notes reported on the bank. 3 of which are series 1929 $5’s. 13 are $10’s. And the other 2 notes are $20’s. Only 3 of the notes in the Kelly Census grade higher then this note! This note is not listed in the Kelly census. The new owner can certainly add it to the census by reporting it. This note would make a fine addition to any Pennsylvania State banknote collection. The bank was located in Elk County. This sweet bit of Americana measures 20” tall x 17” wide x 9” deep and boast 4 molded drawers with dovetailed construction(front; square nail back) and thick hand chamfered drawer bottoms. The sides feature raised panels with compass corners and graceful cuts repeating the profile of the front skirt. It is primarily pine with tulip poplar back; some of the drawer bottoms are pine and others poplar and retains its original heavily distressed dark grain painted surface overall. The porcelain knobs on the top drawer are original; the rest are modern replacements. It has 1916 on the front and just inside it states it was issued March 1 st 1916 in Altoona. PA. The best thing about this book is all of the diagrams. They are all there and intact I only found one that is sticking and I was afraid to force it open. The rest open and are all easy to read. At least 20 fold out diagrams. They are great and very in detail. The condition is pretty good. No tears that I found. Some discoloration on the front and a few pages where it got wet but not a lot. The back cover shows the cover of the binding is starting to separate but would be easy to restore with glue. There is some bending and the corners are not sharp or perfect ... morebut again I find no tears at all. I seen no writing inside it or on it except for just on the first page where there is a mark about a quarter inch long from what looks like a small marker. I am very very critical in the descriptions of my items condition. I want you to be happy and I want return business. I try to give as best descriptions as I can. Please contact me with questions. Up for auction is this Bachman Bakeries large Red colored 1960's lidded pretzel tin with a tray top. The multi-purpose lid was designed to be turned over to become an edged serving tray. There are Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art Designs on the lid and sides. The scene on the tray side of the lid depicts a woman baking pretzels in a wood fired brick oven. A small male child is seated on a bench helping her. The other side of the lid is plain Red. The design on the side of the tin includes alternating images of two(2) different types of birds with two(2) different types of circular images that appear to me to be a Tulip and the Sun.
