I believe this is a mahogany dropleaf table from the Empire period(circa ... more1860) Measures 29" high by 40" long. There is a leaf that hangs on each side each measuring 15 1/4" Each leaf is held up by a wooden swing arm that folds out from the center of the table. Table is on a 20 x 22" pedestal base with metal wheels. When leaves are closed. The top measures 40" x 22 1/4" actually 23 3/4" with the edges of the leaves) or 40" x 52 3/4" when open. The table is in excellent condition with only a small chip on the base near the floor and a small crack underneath the bottom of the pedestal base. This wonderful Table is in good original condition. And it has a charming medium/dark Mahogany stain finish color. The drop leaves are secure and sturdy when open. And it has interesting& stylish curved legs with Brass-finish caps on the bottom, see pictures. This Table has drop-leaves on the sides. See pictures, and the center opens up to accommodate a standard Table Leaf. This Table does not come with an additional Leaf. For sale is an original Brandt"The Warfield" drop leaf dining table. This was Brandt's flagship model in it's day. The patented design allowed this seemingly small table to"grow" to seat up to 14 people with the help of 5 leaves which have all been preserved and are included. Along with the leaf protector pads(all but one) and even the original crate to store the leaves- which still has Brandt's original paper manufacturer's tag on it. The chairs are not included and will be available in a separate eBay auction. This beautiful table is in very good condition. It is heavy and very sturdy. The arms that hold the leaves up work very well every time. When the leaves go up. They lock in very tight and do not have any movement whatsoever. The table spreads apart seamlessly. When pushed back together, the locking ... moremechanism aligns correctly and locks the way it should. The wheels all rotate and spin, but are quite squeaky. The marks seen in the pictures are mostly smudges and fingerprints. We do not clean or polish our items so that you may see the the true condition they were kept in.
