This set is in very good used condition, sturdy and solid, yet well loved and showing its age in the finish(please view close up photos, I have tried to represent all noticeable defects) This will give you a nice distressed, antiquey look or it can be refinished for a formal dining room setting. Chairs have been reupholstered at one point(see close up photo of tag) My guess is in the late 60s or 70s. Upholstery is in very good condition on all 6 chairs, and is period-appropriate to the style of the furniture. The table has two attached extensions. One on either end, that store underneath and just pull straight out to the sides when needed. The base legs of the table are thick and sturdy carved oak in the Elizabethan(maybe Baroque? style. The hutch is visually massive. Yet realistically very manageable in size, and features matching carvings and gorgeous decorative hardware that looks original to the piece. I have lots more photos. So please contact me if you would like to see them. this is a gorgeous and well-made set of furniture! Beautiful antique dining table. 5 leaves and 6 chairs. 54 inches round, each leaf is 13 inches, fully extends to 119 inches. chairs are covered in imported Chinese silk fabric.The dining furniture is George III style in mahogany. Georgian 1930's Dining Table. Double Pedestal, Extends 12, Signed Tapp. This Georgian style dining table has two"birdcage" pedestals and is signed by noted Dutch designer. Johan Tapp. Mahogany with a superb deep satiny finish. This 1930's table shows superior American craftsmanship. Tapp(1888-1939) designed furniture for many makers around the world. There are three 24" wide leaves. Feet and wheels are patinated cast brass. This marvelous furniture was sold by the Marshall Field Antique Department in Chicago for $18.000 about 35 years ago. Size is 45" wide. 29 1/2" tall, legroom is 27 1/2" underneath, length closed is 6, with all three leaves in place, length is 12' overall. Located in Modesto. California ~42" Pedestal Table~ 3- 11inch leaves 42" x 75" with 3 leaves inserted Table extends to 103.5" and could accommodate 2 more 11" leaves 29 1/2" tall 42" square pedestal with 5 legs At some point there were blocks of wood added to the feet and center to make it taller. These blocks match the wood. Picture#6 looks like the wood is totally a different color on one end. This is due to being under the ceiling light at that end and is not a true representation of the color. Since the table is a pedestal. There are no legs in the way for seating. Six chairs will fit at the table, even when it is closed to 42" square. These square, solid wood, pedestal tables are scarce. The finish on glowing mahogany is in excellent condition. Two graceful pedestals with brass feet are strong and tight on this American made vintage furniture.
